    With two private dining rooms overlooking Brickell Avenue and the Miami River, your needs are sure to be met whether hosting a small business dinner, birthday celebration, or an intimate engagement dinner. The larger of our private dining rooms can accomodate up to 16 guests and features floor to ceiling windows showcasing panoramic views of the Miami skyline. The small private dining room seats up to 6 guests and has it's own private balcony in the case that you so wish to enjoy the fresh air in addition to the spectacular views.

A word from Area 31 - Epic Hotel
Chef Wolfgang Birk at Area 31 delivers a dramatic menu of fresh, local seafood prepared with Global Influences for Atlantic Coastal Cuisine. The name comes from the United Nations 'Fishing Area 31,' which encompasses the local waters surrounding Miami and the Florida coast. The UN is dedicated to supporting sustainable development in this region, a vision that our restaurant has embraced as well.
The menu combined with the chic ambiance welcomes locals and visitors to its stunning 16th floor location for business or pleasure. Guests may dine indoors or on the expansive outdoor terrace overlooking the Miami skyline. The restaurant features an extensive list of high-end and unique wines thoughtfully assembled by Master Sommelier Emily Wines . Our Bar also showcases an innovative cocktail list from Head Bartender Dean Feddaoui.

  • "Wanting to try a new restaurant conveniently located to my friend's office and me, I found Area 31 on Open Table which fit our needs. Located on the 16th floor of the Epic Hotel in Downtown Miami, we had a beautiful view to go along with an excellent dinner. We each ordered an appetizer and then shared the Red Snapper with which we tried two of their sauces. While I found the Red Pepper Sabayon not to have a great deal of flavor, the Tomato/Olive/Caper was very flavorful and the fish was cooked perfectly and really did not need any sauce. Had it not been for the valet parking which you have no choice but to use, I would give this restaurant 5 Stars. First it is $15, plus tip, with validation and then it took 20 minutes to get my car."

  • "We went last night for our anniversary and were seated at a lovely table outside. Awesome views of the city. The service was top notch from every staff member that came to our table. We had the sashimi tuna which was perfect and the scallops were so good we ordered a second serve! Entrees: Pork trio - absolutely delicious, and snapper with sides of brussels, quinoa and yucca - loved everything. Great value desert selections - you choose mini deserts from the menu...3 pieces at $11 was just perfect for 2. Very nice to be offered complimentary bubbles at the end of our meal. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back. Thanks for a great night."

  • "We've been going to Area 31 since it opened, through at least three incarnations. The food is very good. We mostly go for the great otudoor dining and the amazing view of Miami. Can't really see Biscayne Bay from the dining area, but the view of Brickell Ave. is truly world-class. Could be NYC, could be Hong Kong. Really nice. The new bar scene is very energetic, to say the least. Sadly on this latest occasion (July 24) the service was very slow. I am not sure if the waiter was overly challenged (he had tables both inside and out) or the kitchen was slow. Many of the bar patrons, seeking perhaps a respite from the heavy bass music or the crowd at the bar, kept coming over to sit down in the dining area of the terrace. Distracting."

  • "Lived in Miami my whole life and never enjoyed a view of the Brickell high-rises as much. Looked like Park Ave. in NYC. The food was delicious, the vibe was yooung and energetic and it is a great reminder of how Miami is becoming "THE" city to live, work and play in!"

  • "The appointment did not go as smooth as I thought. We did arrive late due to the bridge being opened and traffic in the area. After we arrived, we were sat down after 15 minutes in a nearly empty restaurant. We had an ocean and city view from the table which was amazing. Our appetizers were real small as was our entrees. The food was delicious and prepared with perfection. The service was not so perfect. Our waters and drinks were left empty several times and we had to reach out to our server for refills. Empty plates were on the table and we had to remind waiters to please clear our table. I did appreciate the custom made menu for our birthday guest which had "Happy Birthday" written on. Valet service was a nightmare though."

  • "We went for the tasting menu and wine pairings as advertised. Only to be told, they no longer have a tasting menu. I could chose whatever I wanted. Hmm isn't that just the regular menu? Why yes it was-- It was very disappointing. But worse we sat near the patio and watched several shirtless flip-flop wearing overweight men drink too much."

  • "There were 3 of us for a birthday for Mariella. The menu was printed with her name of it which was great. The waiter said she could have it as a keepsake and to pick it up at the front desk when we left. On the way out the hostess said the menu had gotten wet and they threw it away. Our meal cost $400.00 and this little error in goodwill left a sour note as we walked out."

  • "It was our 13 year anniversary and I made our reservations thru open table and the service from Area 31 could not have been more perfect! We were give a phenomenal table by on the balcony over looking the Brickel area of Miami on the Fourth of July. What an incredible way to celebrate ours and our Country's anniversary! We were greeted very warmly by the front desk and when we were sat, Area 31 served us 2 glasses of champagne and wished us a Happy Anniversary! Absolutely phenomenal. Did I mention that we are a gay male couple? How accepted they made us feel!!"

  • "This was supposed to be a 1000 point restaurant. I have only been credited with 100 points and would like to have this corrected ASAP. It is clear from the OpenTable website that this is a 1000 point venue on the date and at the time for the reservation. There seems to be a serious glitch in the system so be sure to watch your confirmations to make sure you are receiving the correct point credits."

  • "Perhaps it was the "happy hour" thing going on at the bar, but without a doubt this was way too noisy for a nice dining experience. If I am going to a place to pay $20-65 for dinner, I would think one would actually be able to enjoy dinner and not have to shout across the table to have a conversation. Happy hour usually ends a bit earlier everywhere else I have been - we sat for dinner at 9pm and it was obnoxiously loud. On the plus side, the service was fantastic."

  • "The food was good, one seafood dish and one steak. The seafood was fresh and the steak was perfectly medium-rare and tender. The service was spectacular. David was well versed on the dishes, the preparation, and was very knowledgeable about the local area. He was very personable and made us feel like special guests. The views were amazing and got to watch the skies behind the buildings turn orange as it transitioned to night. The night view was wonderful. It was my wife's birthday and once seated, we were warmly met with two glasses of champagne. We were then presented with the drink menu, as well as a menu with a personalized birthday greeting for my wife. The trio of desserts was fantastic. Highly recommended overall."

  • "My wife and I dined here to celebrate the first night of our honeymoon. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special. We were giving a great table with an amazing city view and they had glasses of champagne prepared for our arrival. Our waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. The drinks are creative and fantastic. We enjoyed oysters and the swordfish was amazing. We've returned several times since dinner just to enjoy the cocktails and the view and have gotten great service every time."

  • "Area 31 was happening on friday night. The outside bar was packed, so we decided to have drinks inside even though they had 6 dollar drinks and apps outside. Our server was Mauricio, He did an excellent serving us and was entertaining while he gave his theatrical take on the menu. The food was excellent everything we ordered was gone!. After we ate we got to enjoy the outside balcony area and chilled by the pool. Great night!"

Best surprise of all, I had left my AMEX card behind, and when my guest and I returned 3-1/2 hours later, it was being held in safe keeping at the reception desk. Pride and integrity are the hallmarks of a successful enterprise, and Area 31 receives my 5 stars. "

I would recommend focusing on the crudo and appetizers instead of Main dishes- Amazing flavor and interesting combinations. The octopus crudo is probably the best thing I ate in Miami- firm but flavorful. "

  • "The menu is very limited but great quality. Everything is delicious. The risotto was great although a bit overwhelmed by the asparagus. The scallops were well above average and I wanted more of those! Lunch is equally fun and delicious. I really love this place and the creative food. I do wish the indoor seating was more conducive to a romantic dinner, the seats are horrible and not inviting, and the table placement puts you far away from your date. Service is OK, but nothing great, and totally indicative of typically Miami service. Dropping a check before asking while the couple is still enjoying a bottle of wine is a bit tacky. "

  • "I thoroughly enjoyed my late night dinner at Area 31. I was told the scenery and vibe was very romantic and my date enjoyed the evening as much as I did. The service was excellent and the waiters were kind enough to take a picture of us outside. I ordered the swordfish with a side of yucca fries, and I found the meal to be tasty. It did not knock my socks off but I would definitely go back and eat it again. My night at area 31 was excellent."

  • "The food was good but the portions where way to small. Great views overlooking brickell avenue but I do not like to go to restaurant spend 200 bucks on dinner and leave hungry. Desert was the worst. I do not recomend this place. Go get take out rent a room and eat it on your balcony. You will have better experince"

  • "My husband and I were there for our anniversary. The hostess was not really great but we didn't have to deal with her for long. A better attitude wouldn't have hurt. Our waiter was awesome! Wish I could remember his name! He had dreadlocks. He was such a great help when suggesting the food. We had everything he suggested and were happy to have done so. Had dinner outside and enjoyed the sunset view. Thanks so much for a great experience and awesome food! We will sure come back!"

  • "I make a reservation to mothers day and for the first time in my life the general manager of a restaurant helped me with the reservation and a especial Surprice for my wife . It ended to be a nice experience, in the restaurant another manager named Damian Irizarry welcome us, and gave us the best atention, he took care of our table all night long. We feel like a movie stars. Thanks to Damian, Robert, Geno and of course the waiter, you make that night the best night."

  • "This restaurant has one of the best views in all of Miami from its outdoor seating area. The outdoor seating area only has about a dozen tables so you will want to request that. Indoors has a great atmosphere too however. The service is impeccable. The staff is highly educated on each dish and they will go into great detail in how it is prepared and what ingredients are in the dish. I like that. I had the Lamb Shoulder and the waiter mentioned the pasta that dish comes with was made from scratch. I didn't think I would be able to taste a difference but boy was I wrong. It was the best pasta I ever had. "
