  • "Not a big variety. No tags on dishes. Needed to remind servers to refill dishes. Food tastes good. Has lots of space to move around especially for kids.Best part is that it's located in distillery district."

  • "we had originally made reservations at Tappo which is down the street but they couldn't seem to find our reservation when we showed up. We quickly regrouped on Opentable and from Archeo to regain our date night. The space was great, amazing jazz music playing. The server was so nice and pleasant it added to our experience. we had the pasta special and a pizza which was amazing. We are going to make this our local in the distillery district for sure."

  • "We enjoy Sunday Buffet Brunches and have had a hard time finding a nice one in Toronto. Archeo's Brunch was very enjoyable and we would definitely recommend it. Popcorn on the dessert table was a fun surprise."

  • "It was super quiet the evening we were there (3 other tables occupied) so not much atmosphere but nice decor. I got a very strange comment about the mixed drinks: server said that they were out of pretty much all the liquers/juices etc. and he could probably scrape together something to make one of the all the drinks on their list (which I chose to order - it wasn't very interesting, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised). The food was good - I had lamb shank and husband had steak. I asked for risotto to be substituted for my side and it was delicious. I would try it again to see if I could get a better sense of the place - probably when it's warmer out! The server was always in a hurry and didn't take much time to check in with us."

  • "We've been to Archeo before and had a much better experience. I'm not sure if they were understaffed? The restaurant was freezing - they have double doors, but the hostess let people hold both doors open at the same time, so we got cold blasts repeatedly (and we were far from the door!!!) Our waiter was attentive and then seemed to get pulled away? I'm not sure but half of our dishes arrived cold (not warm - cold!) and if we hadn't been going to the theatre and tight on time we would have sent a couple back. My coffee arrived ice cold and I never got a replacement, despite asking for one. If this had been my first time at Archeo, I would not be going back."

  • "We went to Archeo on a very cold night, so the restaurant might have been quieter than usual; however, we enjoyed being able to converse in our normal speaking voices. We were a party of four that ranged in age from 15 to 75 and everyone enjoyed their meal and the setting. The waiter was enthusiastic and knowledgable. It was a delightful meal."

  • "(Feb 25 at 6pm) Table was next to a door with a cold draught, while plenty of other tables were free. Food quality was not up to par, over dressed Caesar and the pizza was a complete disappointment. Bland, tepid and entirely uninspired. We did not touch it after the first few bites. Our server was great but the maître dee was inhospitable and bored. A completely different experience than we've had there before."

  • "Food was tasty and well presented. Reasonable value for money. Ambience (exposed brick, chunky wood) was warm and inviting. Staff was attentive and the right balance between good service and not in your face. Had lunch and dinner there and would definitely go again."

  • "This is a beautifully restored building. The space is warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly and were attentive to our dining needs and timelines for the theatre after. Salads and mains were excellent. I highly recommend the minestrone soup, salads, lamb shank and vegetarian mains."

  • "I was disappointed with my main entree. Food was not hot and we had to ask for some gravy/juice as it as very dry. The polenta was especially dry an lumpy. I did not have dessert but my friend did and said it was delicious."

  • "I took my gf here for an early VDay dinner during Winterlicious and that was a mistake. The ceasar salad was the worst I've ever tasted with next to no salad dressing and dry enough to pass as a dry snack. My gf's calamari rapieni tasted like bland tomato sauce and rubber. My main was a chicken pizza which was smothered with cheese and amateur tasting in comparison to real pizza spots in Toronto. My gf's main of salmon was better than expected. The cannoli's were tasted pre frozen. The setting of this place reminds me of high school cafeteria so DO NOT COME here if you're expecting a romantic dinner. In sum Archeo gets away with its high prices because of its location. The food is terrible and cheap tasting."

  • "We had a wonderful time with our server Ben, who was personable, friendly, helpful, and very patient, as we took our time talking and discussing the wedding plans. Ben didn't interfere, or rush us, and made us feel very welcomed and fun. the Winterlicious menu was very enjoyable. I had the best braised lamb shank in a long time...it was fall-off-the-bone tender, and flavourful. The desserts were devine! Each one of us had a different dessert, and we shared a taste of them and we loved them all! Very good place for friends, dinner, ambiance, and good times! Thk you. We told our SErver Ben we were looking to see Bianca & he went out of his way to find out and advised us that Bianca had left for the day -Ben's effort was much appreciated"

  • "First time at Archeo brought my family and my in laws. We book for Winterlicious but told us that they don't do Winterlicious on a Sunday instead they served brunch. Even better. My boys love it that they are able to get food on their own. You have excellent coffee. Great brunch buffet. Ambiance is excellent! At the end of our brunch we got to have the coffee that you served as a take home. Will recommend this place to friends and family. We will do this again once the weather is nicer spring or summer."

  • "I've dinned in the distillery district on several occasions and this was the first time we tried Archeo and we were pleasantly surprised. As this was during the Toronto Winterlicious (also a first for my group) we where limited to the fixed menu selections but after dining the group agreed this was an excellent value for the $25 all-in meal. From the appies, to the mains, down to the included deserts. Everything was tasty and well prepared. (Loved the Lamb shank!) Look forward to coming back again and trying the regular menu items that if prepared like this set dinner should equally impress. 1.5 thumbs up! (1/2 point deducted for the cool chill of the room, fix the heat!) Bon Apetit!"

  • ""I love the relaxed feel of this place. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The muscles were amazing and the pasta was great. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable.""

  • "I had wanted to try Archaeo for quite some time, and Winterlicious was a great excuse to book a table there. The service was fast, however, the food was extremely bland. The caesar salad had no flavour, and the braised lamb was tender, but lacked any real flavour or distinguishing features. It was served with polenta that my friend described as 'cream of wheat'. The dessert was really delicious. Sadly, I don't think I'll try this Distillery spot again after the Winterlicious menu is over."

  • "The restaurant was beautiful and the food was amazing. Our waitress was very helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good eats and friendly staff."

  • "This restaurant is just fine, in that there's nothing really wrong with it but there's nothing special about it either. People are pleasant enough but service isn't standout, food is mediocre, décor is very nice-- space has a nice feel to it. Our server was slow off the mark with things like drinks and the bill...one member of our party didn't like her main course (ate maybe an 1/8 of it), but no apology and nothing was done to remedy it, despite our server openly being told that she didn't like the dish. Unfortunate also because no one came around to check on us until the end of the main course so it could have been dealt with much earlier. Will not return as there are other, far better options in the Distillery."

  • "So pleased I spent a Winterlicious lunch at this restaurant. Service was great, quiet atmosphere, lots of rustic wood in the design. $20 in was such a bargain. Definitely get the chicken sandwich with its light breading. Delicious."

  • ""Winterlicious" menu provided very good value and tasty meal. And being just steps away from the theatre where we were attending a play made for a very relaxed and enjoyable evening out with no stress about getting from A to B. Excellent and attentive service enhanced the experience as well. Recommended."

  • "We were a group of four. Wonderful menu for $25. I had the calamari/lamb/cannoli and we had a fantastic bottle of South African Shiraz for $35. Great value!!! Fantastic ambience. Love the Distillery. A total gem. It was a wonderful dining experience!"

  • "I brought some out-of-town friends for Sunday brunch, and discovered when we arrived that there was a buffet and no option to order a la carte. The atmosphere and service were both quite good, but the food was a real disappointment. The special-made omelet from the omelet bar was completely over-cooked and inedible. The buffet was okay, but the pesto pasta from the salad bar was chewy and undercooked. At the point where we were ready for the dessert table there was very little left so we skipped it. Then, when we were putting on our coats to leave we noticed that the dessert table had been restocked. Very poor timing (and shame on the staff for allowing the table to run out so completely before putting out more). Nice atmosphere though."

  • "we brought our friends to the restaurant for their 30th anniversary. For this occasion I don't feel that this was a suitable venue. There was little to no ambiance. The food and presentation of the food was however very good."

  • "It was a scene out of an amazing movie, great atmosphere. Provided a great ambiance, which created a special moment for my significant other and I . It was surely one of the best places we have visited. We would highly recommend this place. However, would like to keep it our little secret. It was truly an experience neither of us will forget. Amazing start to a new years."

  • "Very attractive setting. Nice ambiance and good service. Quality food presented in a varied but not excessive range of food items. Excellent presentation of food properly cooked and not overcooked or dried out as many buffet foods often are."
    Dined on 1/12/2014
  • "The food was nicely presented, but as is typical for any buffet, inconsistent. The roast beef and back bacon was presented in an open plate with a heat lamp, so these were dry and not served at the right temperature. Cheese scrambled eggs were runny. A small selection of salads didn't complement the food selection very well. Sausages overcooked. Bacon was heaped in a trough and was not served in an appetizing easy. Desserts were just ok. The omelette station is nice and solves the freshly prepared problem, but more ingredients are needed. Look, for $20 in a gorgeous, old brick and beam room, it was good value, and the service was attentive. But the food was just ok."

  • "I love coming here for brunch, the interior is stunning, the food is very tasty (although roast beef and ham left under a light instead of in a chafing dish was dried out); buffet is spread out so you don't run into big bottlenecks. Some very yummy desserts to finish it off."
