Diner Reviews
  • "Luckily we were seated by the outside windows otherwise the central dinning area was filled with large, boisterous groups(many with children) The food was delicious, well seasoned, especially their Wedge Salad. Biggest disappointment was my husbands steak was overdone, especially at a steakhouse. Complimentary french fries fried in duck fat...what' not to like."

  • "Although they have a brunch buffet I opted to order of the menu. I want6ed to try the eggs benedict and was glad I did. My meal was excellent and the hollandaise was a big part of it. It was buttery and spicy a great compliment to the perfectly cooked eggs. The service was outstanding too. Even though it was rather busy the waiter was always there when needed and made sure my coffee was always full. The overall experience truly exceeded my expectations."

  • "Went here on a date night and it was great. It was a Monday night, so it was very quiet and not very full. The food was fabulous (lobster corn dog, charcuterie, strip steak, lamb) and wine was half off. So, we had a great, 3 hour long meal and were never rushed or bothered."

  • "90% of this experience was wonderful - the entrees were perfectly cooked, the drinks were good, the wine list extensive and the service (mostly) attentive. but there were a few blips - drinks that took too long to come to the table (the bar was not crowded), the asparagus was tough - but those are minor blips. the wait staff was friendly & helpful, and the food really was marvelous - fish & meat were all spectacular."

  • "I brought my dad here for father's day brunch. I ordered corned beef and hash & eggs over medium. I received large cubes of corned beef, with large cubes of potatoes and eggs over hard. No one else liked their breakfast either. Drinks took forever and did not come out at the same time despite ordering at the same time. The server asked if 1 person wanted another drink, but didn't ask anyone else who had empty glasses. The busser stacked the plates of others in front of one person, clinking the plates and silverware loudly. When switching from one course to another, we had to keep dirty forks instead of getting fresh ones. I paid way to much to eat disappointing food and to get embarrassed for my choice of restaurant."

  • "Had a reservation but were seated 20 min after-similar parties sat right away and restaurant was not full, so this was a mystery. After the manager had to serve us drinks, we had to ask for a waiter who was then reluctant to come to the table (we saw & heard the exchange with the manager). Our drinks were never refilled without asking and then it took forever. We watched every table seated after us get the complimentary fries (served in place of bread) and we had to ask our waiter several times; when we finally got them they were cold. For a reservation at 7:30, we did not get served our first course until 8:40. Waiter never tried to make up for anything, simply continued to ignore our table. Manager was watching and offered nothing"

  • "I have been to Arcadia a few times, but this past time has left a bad taste. Food took over 45 minutes to come out, the meat was not flavorful. The waiter took a long time to take our order, almost never checked up on us. Request for certain condiments were never met and water was scarce. They have even forgotten to bring our to go foods. had to wait an additional 20 minutes after our meal. Overall I brought a lot of friends raving about this place, now this place has made me look like a fool. And I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with Arcadia I will do my very best to ensure no one will ever have to experience what I did and will progressively warn everyone of this horrid experience."

  • "When I made my hotel reservation and saw that there was a Michael Mina restaurant I was so excited. I immediately booked a table for dinner. I was surprised that when I showed up the restaurant seemed fairly empty and yet I was told there were 3 other people waiting to be seated. I gladly ordered a drink at the bar and was seated within 10 minutes of my reservation time. I looked around to see what others were enjoying to see if there was anything that I should make sure to order. I love a good filet and couldn't resist ordering that. I started with a wedge salad that was not a wedge at all -- it was a whole head. That was the best part of the meal. Steak was dry, service was not terribly attentive. Not at all what I expected."

  • "WOW what a wonderful experience. Celebrated our 29th Anniversary and couldn't have better service. The food was amazing from the Lobster Pot Die to the Duck fat fries and the dessert the . Highly recommend everyone to come and eat at Arcadia"

  • "Dining at Arcadia was a wonderful experience. We felt welcomed and catered to from the valet service, to the superb meal, wine and dessert, to the attentive service. I want to give our waiter Charles a shout out. He met our every expectation and made our dining experience a truly memorable one. This was our third visit and I haven't been disappointed yet. We went to just have dinner, but they always manage turn it into a special occasion."

  • "What a lovely restaurant! :) I took a very good friend of mine to Acadia. Our dining experience nothing short of spectacular. The sommelier was great! He recommended a great wine to my friend and also offered us a complimentary ice wine from the Southern regions of Canada. It wss divine!"

  • "DINING AT ARCADIA HAS BEEN A TRADITION FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS WHEN I VISIT MY FAMILY IN CA. THIS LAST DINING EXPERIENCE ON APRIL 5, 2014 HAD BEEN VERY DISAPPOINTING. I DON'T BELIEVE THEY WERE EXCESSIVELY BUSY THAT NIGHT, BUT OUR COMPLIMENTARY FRENCH FRIES CAME TO THE TABLE WITH OUR SALAD/APPETIZER AND WERE NOT HOT. EVERYONE'S DINNER CAME OUT AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND WE HAD TO CHECK WITH THE WAITER TO MAKE SURE HE GOT THE ORDER BECAUSE IT TOOK SO LONG FOR ONE PARTICULAR DINNER TO ARRIVE. I DON'T KNOW IF OUR WAITER WAS NEW BUT THAT DOES NOT EXCUSE THE POOR SERVICE. TOTAL COST OF DINNER THERE IS ALWAYS OVER $400 SO THIS EXPERIENCE HAS DETERRED ME FROM DINING AT ARCADIA FOR A LONG TIME IF AT ALL. "

  • "I brought my bf here for his 35th birthday a few nights ago and Robert (our waiter) really helped make our evening a special occasion! He was incredibly friendly, very attentive, and outstandingly insightful to make our celebration a memorable one :) We had a quiet seat next to the window with a full view of the beautifully lit up civic center. It was very romantic and we thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service, and the view! There is open seating in the lobby and bar seating in the back so I'll be back with a group of friends for drinks and the delectable truffle mac and cheese :) Thanks so much Arcadia, and especially Robert, for such an amazing first impression!"

  • "Arcadia is an excellent restaurant, maybe one of the best steakhouses in the South Bay. It's a Michael Mina restaurant, and his restaurants are first class. RN74, Bourbon Steakhouse, these are great. Arcadia is like Bourbon Steakhouse. Their signature french fry appetizer is the same at Bourbon Steakhouse, in SF and here at Arcadia. If you love great steaks, you'll love Arcadia. If you love going to a steakhouse, then you'll love Arcadia. Fleming's and Ruth's are great, but you can't get fresh oysters there. At Arcadia you can. They make a delicious chop salad, classic for a steakhouse. The Tuna tartar was delicious and done the typical way with final preparation at the table. The bone-in ribeye was great, blackened, delicious!"

  • "The food, simply put, is fabulous. Wonderful restaurant. Bustling area which offers valet with the ticket endorsed by your waiter(ess). The duck fat fries were crispy and flavorful. The wedge salad is as artistic as it is delicious. My wife had the scallops and I had the hanger steak. Both were fantastic. The hanger steak was cooked perfectly at medium/rare. The scallops had a delicate crisp and they sat on rice cakes. We accompanied the entree with mushrooms and truffle mac'n'cheese. Excellent meal. It was a warm day so we had Level martinis. Great experience"

  • "The food was pretty average. We ordered oyster Rockefeller, king salmon, 10oz waygu steak with smash potatoes. Nothing really stood out to me. I probably won't be coming back here anytime soon. "

  • "Enjoyed a very nice client dinner. The service bot for food as well as wine was a highlight. Attentive, polite and consistent. The duck fat fries are a thing of beauty and the NY steak was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I will at a future visit be stealing a gallon or so of their BBQ sauce? Yikes. Terrific."

  • "The food was very good and the atmosphere and decore were very nice but it was so loud that I had trouble hearing what my date was saying. "

  • "You should be safe ordering a steak at a steakhouse but the night we ate at Arcadia the NY was overcooked and not delicious as promised. The server took it off our bill so I don't want to complain too much. The rest of us enjoyed our meals. My other complaint is one I have with a lot of nicer, expensive restaurants: they should have a dress code. It's not cool to get dressed up and go out somewhere nice and have half the patrons dressed in shorts and flip flops. Would probably recommend this place with caveats. "

  • "After trying another venue last year, we returned to the best place for a family Mother's Day brunch. The food was delicious, the moms in our group appreciated the special attention and macarons. "

  • "The food at this place is very good. However, their portion sizes are far too small. For the price you pay, it is difficult to even get full at this place. It is not worth the money in my opinion. The taste of the food is great and the service as well. But there are much better options out there for the price you are going to pay going to Arcadia. I would recommend it if you are not hungry!"

  • "Had wanted to try this Michael Mina restaurant for months. The ambiance was lovely. Unfortunately, the service lacked big time. Our server was too focused on taking our order--she interrupted our business conversation twice and made us feel rushed, despite the restaurant not being full. And the person who cleared the table after courses kept trying to take away our plates before we had finished. That definitely affected our overall experience. The food was well prepared and good quality, but not quite as inventive and subtle as past experiences at other Mina restaurants. "

  • "the mac and cheese is a must!!! our server was really great...we ordered the caesar salad and were very disappointed that ALL of the lettuce was kale, nothing else. our server took it back and off the bill with no problems. "

  • "Took 10 minutes to have someone come to our table to say 'I'll be back with water and bread.' Ten minutes later we got water--never got bread. Another 10 minutes til a waiter took our order. Was never asked if we wanted another round of drinks, despite glasses being empty. And the restaurant was mostly empty--not sure why the service was so bad. Oh, but they did fill up the water glasses after we asked for the check--sweet. Next time I want a $50 steak, I'll go to the Grill across the street. I have no idea how these two restaurants could be rated the same on Yelp."

  • "We've been meaning to try this place for awhile now, but for some reason kept skipping it for other venues. This weekend we finally did and now it's one of our favorite local eats. From the starters to the entrees (you have to try the sturgeon!) to the drinks, everything was delicious. A fun little bar scene for an after dinner drink makes it feel a little more special than just a regular restaurant too."

  • "My daughter and I went to this restaurant on Friday night. Reservation through Open Table at 830pm and the restaurant was nearly full when we arrived. It did take a few minutes before we got water poured probably not enough busboys. Our waiter was efficient and non-intrusive. Food was served at a good pace. The food itself was excellent-I had the NY and she had the rack of lamb both were above average and cooked to the right level, tuna tartare and Burrata cheese salad were both very good to excellent. In short above average to great food at above average price."

  • "We love coming here on Mondays for their half off wine. Our server (can't recall his name) was attentive and personable, will definitely be back just because of him! We did a bottle of red and a bottle of white, wedge salad was a great suggestion as well as the steak tartare. We will be back!"

  • "Although the food was very good, this Easter brunch was a disaster. Making reservations, just means you are gauranteed a seat. You still wait in line like an amusement park and they herd you in like cattle. You would think that if you are paying $54 per person for brunch that it would include some sort of beverage, not this place. When I asked if it included champagne, our waiter replied "no" and then asked if we wanted coffee. I said yes since the table was set with coffee mugs, I thought it was included, but I was wrong. ($4 for OJ, $3.50 for coffee). The Brunch for 5 people was $350 without tip. I did enjoy the food and can't complain about that, but would rather go to the Ritz Carlton or the Fairmont for those kinds of prices. "

  • "I took my mom for her birthday because they had a lobster roll on their menu, not realizing that it was mixed with tartar sauce (she likes things plain). The waitress said they could not just put plain lobster in a roll. So we got her the turkey burger plain, but it arrived with cheese, so we sent it back and switched to the angus burger. That ended up being delicious. My lobster roll was so-so, and my sister's rib-eye cheesesteak was very dry and not very good. The waitress did not come to check on us once during the meal though she was friendly when she finally brought the check. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone - though the burger was quite good. The only plus was that it wasn't crowded."
