Arcadia - Richmondlovely experienceLovely drink and food menu with a variety of choices, each with unique flavors and ingredients. Great service and an overall great experience.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulGreat experience as usual! We have yet to experience anything sub par here.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Food and ServiceI took my family (Party of 6) out for a graduation dinner after my wife graduated from VCU. The food was great and the service excellent. They even accommodated my 13 year old niece who is a picky eater.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experiencerecently dined here with a group of 6. Decor is beautiful. Location is great. Food was AMAZING! service was likewise great. Steaks were beautifully done and the butter absolutely made those steaks just another cut above. You will drop a pretty penny here but we all felt it was well worth it. There was one really loud group next to us which was the only detraction but that happens pretty much everywhere. It isn't a place you're likely to get in and out quickly so if you are pressed for time it may not be the best choice for you.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome ArcadiaWe ate dinner at Arcadia to celebrate my brother's graduation from dental school. The place was amazing. The staff couldn't be nicer, the food was unbelievably good and location was perfect. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect dinner...celebrated a birthday dinner in style. Lots of food, great service and restaurant, can't wait to go back!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and WelcomingWe had a lovely dinner here with the food, atmosphere and service excellent.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was delicious.

Service was awesome- really great place for date night!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great choice..Been to Arcadia a handful of times, and always impressed with the quality of food and great service there. The steaks are always amazing, and perfectly cooked.. Recommend to anyone looking for a special night out!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went here for lunch toWe went here for lunch to celebrate a co-worker's retirement. I liked the decor of the restaurant. The tomato soup with the grilled cheese crouton was excellent. A co-worker ordered the carrot and dill soup and that was superb. I usually do not like carrot anything but that has changed my mind. The crab cake sandwich is very good, lots of crab meat, The orange and lemon sauce really complimented the crab cake, however I thought the bun was too large and I did not like the sesame seeds on the bun. I also tasted an oyster from my co-worke po' boy and it was so fresh, juicy and tasty. The truffled fries were cripy and delicious. Our server was the best, very attentive and friendly. I will definitely go back4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall a great place to dineOverall a great place to dine with wonderful friends. great food, wine and desserts!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWONDERFUL SERVICETook my wife and daughter here for my wife's birthday. The waiter Chris was very attentive but not overbearing. He was honest and suggested the best meals and wine to get. Even the owner came up to our table to ask how everything was. It was a great dining experience and we will come again.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest restaurant we went toBest restaurant we went to on this trip to Richmond (April 2013).
The whiskey sours, pork osso bucco, and rockfish were superb.
Our friend Daniel Day-Lewis was right.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMBest omelet I've had: shrimpBest omelet I've had: shrimp and goat cheese - with no skimping on the shrimp. Delicious! The pastry basket was amazing - everything light and flaky. I need to come back for dinner!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDifferent twist on fine dining3 of us went, all ordered different cuts of steak, different potatoes, and different drinks. The wine list was well rounded. The specialty drink list, while not particularly large, had a variety to suit different tastes. Their version of a Long Island actually tasted like iced tea (but what kick!). The steaks were cooked exactly as we ordered; both the garlic butter and 3 peppers were mouth watering; the mashed potatoes were so creamy good; the truffle oil cooked fries were the best we ever ate in our lives; the scallopped spuds were just OK. The desert drinks were tasty but the butter schnaps on the menu unfortunately is no longer sold. The view of Main St made it interesting, but not a quiet dinner. Lastly, valet service was unsat.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've eaten at Arcadia twiceWe've eaten at Arcadia twice now, and have been extremely pleased on both occasions. The food is imaginative and delicious, the service is perfect (attentive and not at all intrusive!), and the drinks are wonderful! Try the Quixote, you won't be disappointed!! We love the quirky, warm atmosphere. It's a fave for us!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good brunch. Good combinationVery good brunch. Good combination of flavors and fresh ingredients that enhanced the usual fare of brunch. I had rockfish over Thai curry grits and a chive cream sauce. Awesome3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMYou can not go wrong by orderingYou can not go wrong by ordering any food on the menu. The bar tender was friendly and had a great food knowledge of the menuu. I was impressed with the cocktails, oysters with the horseradish minoette and the truffle fries. For our entrees, I was licking the bowl of my Lobster PotPie and my wife loved the lamb dish with the celery mash.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience! Can't believe this is my first time dining here. Awesome experience and incredible food-- the Pork Osso Bucco was phenomenal!! We brought my 2 1/2 year old niece along and I was worried it wouldn't be a very kid friendly place but our server was so accommodating and sweet. I'll definitely come back for date night with my husband-- and saving room for dessert next time!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMy second time at Arcadia,My second time at Arcadia, I found the staff friendly and the service impeccable. The food was very good. The Lobster Bisque was quite nice. However, like my previous visit I ordered the strip steak, rare, with the port shallot compound butter. While my first visit could only be described as divine, I found the beef to be rather tough and chewy. I had to cut it rather thinly in order to enjoy it. I paired the beef the with brussel sprouts, which were incredible.
The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice and as I said, the staff is top notch. Two notes however... First, I did not enjoy sawing at my beef with a subpar, somewhat dull, serrated steak knife. Second, if the table cloth is heavily pilled, replace it please.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMuch better than art show lft earlyArrived half hour early and still had immediate seating-outstanding. All had individual glasses of wine from extensive & varied list. Scallops on polenta, lobster pot pie, encrusted rock fish on cream sauce, all outstanding. Lemon chess pie flaky & tart. Great waitstaff, excellent evening. Pricey yes, deserved yes. Will return again.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ambiance was great! TheThe ambiance was great! The food was tasty but the carrot and full soup was so buttery! They could have used half to amount and it would be fine. Not sure if it was meant to be this way or if there was an accidental mistake. Our waiter was awesome! Kept and eye out for us and made sure our wine glasses were never empty.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMInnovative Flavor TreatUntil now, my wife and I have avoided Arcadia because the awning out front features "Braveheart Beef" and my wife and I are not beef eaters. Finally, intrigued by the menu, we made a reservation last Saturday night. The interior still had the familiar feel of Cafe Gutenburg and we were instantly comfortable. When our food arrived it exceeded all expectations. I started with the baby kale caesar salad. Now, I know a lot of people don't get excited by kale, but this was a truly amazing flavor experience. My wife's shrimp and lentil dish was bursting with flavor and my vegetarian lasagne was a deconstructed version of the dish that was incredibly creative and delicious. We will be making future visits!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend & I had beenMy boyfriend & I had been wanting to try Arcadia for a while, but had never gotten around to it. I finally got a chance to take him for his birthday on Wednesday. We had a nice little corner table away from foot traffic, making the night cozy & romantic for us. Our waitress was friendly & engaging, without intruding too much on our time. I had the carrot soup (so good!) & the salmon entree. My boyfriend had deviled eggs and the tenderloin with a garlic compound butter. I don't think I've ever seen him so happy with a steak! My entree was a perfect combination of flavors. The Pimms cup was delicious & refreshing. We will definitely be returning in the near future for drinks and small plates on the patio, once the weather is warmer.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe arrived in the pouringWe arrived in the pouring rain, the valet escorted us to the door with an umbrella. We were promptly seated and greeted by our waiter. The appetizers were excellent and the main courses were over the top delicious!! The owner came to our table and introduced himself and was very personable and wanted to extend his gratitude for choosing his restaraunt for our dining experience! Arcadia is first class all the way and we will be adding this place to one of our faves!!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were excellantFood and service were excellant varied menu and all six of us had wondeful meals.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to celebrate our 10thWe went to celebrate our 10th Wedding Anniversary and it was great! My wife;s entree had to get sent back because it was slightly under cooked, and they tookcare of it right away. An overall great experience and the food was amazing!3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMTuedsay Night Dinner Was Very GoodWe arrived for dinner on a Tuesday night...only one other table in the restaurant was occupied. Our server, Jackie, was attentive and did a wonderful job....even as the restaurant got busier and she had more tables to attend to. Two cream soups were outstanding.....one lobster and one carrot and dill. Salads were good but not up to the level of the soup (one sliced iceberg and one arugala). Main course choices were two crabcakes (lots of crab, almost no filler/binding and super rich) and the 7 oz tenderloin....meat was tasty but no where near the best we have ever had. Unusual selection of wines by the glass....relied on on server for recommendations. Would return and recommend.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMImpressedFirst time dining at Arcadia, great food, atmosphere and service. Can't wait to go back again.2/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful SurpriseI've heard great things about Arcadia and so glad that we decided to take a vendor for dinner. Great service, food and ambiance. Cannot wait to take my family members in the near future.1/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA home run in RichmondWe tried Arcadia due to excellent reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. The decor is simple and clean; pressed tin ceiling painted white as are the mostly unadorned walls. Dishes and table covering, also white. Now on to the food! We prefer small plates - the winners were the creamy carrot and ginger soup (the color of saffron), Gruyere mac 'n cheese with rock shrimp (a soup spoon was thoughtfully provided to not miss a drop), and a baby kale caesar salad with anchovy filets (will definitely try to replicate at home). The least successful dish was the chicken thighs on spaetzle - OK but a little overcooked. We took a pear tart back to the hotel for dessert - delicious! The owner stopped by a few times, always a nice touch.11/23/2012 12:00:00 AM
