Diner Reviews
  • "We had a great afternoon of food, drinks and conversation. The ambiance was terrific and it made for a memorable patio lunch. We came back with a larger group for dinner that same day and did it all over again."

  • "Other than the oysters, the food is mediocre and did not live up to the reviews posted. We had the special of the day (fish) which was a mixture of flavors that all competed with each other and a tasteless fish. There are better options, especially at those prices."

  • "Came here for dinner with my boyfriend on a Saturday night on my recent trip to Whistler. The waiter was really nice and made a few recommendations. I informed him of my food allergies and he was happy to accommodate my needs. We decided to go with the Seafood Two Tier Tower and share the Seared Wild Alaskan Scallops for the entree. For the most part, the seafood platter was good. The oysters were amazing. I really didn't enjoy the mussels. They were incredibly tiny and tasteless. But everything else was great! The seared scallops were cooked perfectly. I thought they were tasty, but it wasn't spectacular. Overall, I had a great dinner experience. I'd definitely love to come back just for the oysters and wine!"

  • "Underwhelmed and surprised! Having eaten here years ago and at Cin Cin I expected a wonderful meal. The scallop entree was just ok. The portion was minimal and the scallops were cut at least in half. My friend had the prawn risotto and felt the same. I'm thinking it is just a tourist destination. Really disappointed. Won't go again as there are a lot of wonderful restaurants in Whistler."

  • "This is our 2nd time to Araxis in 6 months, and each time it has equaled or exceeded expectations. The food is interesting, with outstanding preparation. Each dish has an interesting combination of flavors. The Wine list is very extensive, it can be intimidating, but will certainly satisfy anybody knowledgeable about wines. The service is also very good, you have a waiter and support waiter plus sommelier plus bus persons looking after your needs. We will definitely go again. The only negative, is the noise level, which can be a bit high for conversation across the table."

  • "Food and service were both fantastic!!! Was our most expensive meal (by far) during our week in Whistler, but worth every dollar!"

  • "I took my mom to Whistler for mini trip. My friends recommended Araxi for nice dinner. We enjoyed every dish. Plus, service was outstanding. Araxi would be the restaurant I will go again whenever I go Whistler."

  • "Way under staff, then why do you keep adding to the reservation book? Reservations for 8pm at the bar with the wife. Made a note that we were interested in a tasting menu. got a phone call the day of our reservations at 4pm letting us know that the kitchen was way too busy to accommodate a tasting menu for 2. The reservation agent made me feel like it would probably be best if we cancelled. We got to the restaurant and the 2 hostess had a hard time sitting us down. The staff did not seem like, more like they obviously were, overworked and looked annoyed and tired, and rushed. Our server at the bar later confirmed our suspicions. I ordered lobster that was on the menu, they had none. I ordered caviar, on the menu, none. igomoretosaynospace"

  • "I lived in BC for 3 yrs and kept meaning to try this place out, it did NOT disappoint! The oysters...soooooo good (properly shucked, zero she'll out of the approximately 18 our table had) The risotto. ..wow...wow...wow Truffle fries, you can actually taste truffle!..too many disappointments at so many restaurants so always a treat when it's done right"

  • "It was OK not great - given the reviews I read, I expected more. Tables were very close together so it was difficult for the servers to get by easily. Wine selection was VERY expensive."

  • "We go to Whistler once or twice a year and always eat at Araxi one of the nights. Like its sister restaurants in Vancouver, food is very good, and the service is superb, which is not always the Whistler case with a young transient work force."

  • "My wife and I went to Araxi's for the first time even though we have been going to a Whistler for over 28 years. We could have been seated at a nicer table as there were some available but the service and food was excellent. Our waiter was very helpful in suggesting certain items and was quick and attentive. I would recommend Araxi's to anyone wanting a great food experience..."

  • "We were in Whistler for our anniversary so Araxi was a natural choice to celebrate. Although the village was quiet, Araxi was full of life! They had a mid week prix-fix special, which was a pleasant surprise as we were able to sample 4 amazing dishes for a reasonable price. I would come back again without question, especially with the prix-fix option! Delicious food and amazing wine list!"

  • "My experience at Araxi's Restaurant is unforgettable. The food is exquisite. The presentation of the food on the plates is outstanding. The servers are friendly and experienced at informing you about the various plates, specials and drinks available. My overall experience will have me returning to Araxi's Restaurant next time I am in Whistler."

  • "My boyfriend and I went to Araxi restaurant to enjoy nice food, drinks and spoil ourselves with a great evening out. The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered the Araxi four-course special and the only word to describe the food is extraordinary. A great mix of flavours, textures and a chance to try a range of the courses served at Araxi made our visit. As I am working within the Hospitality industry in Whistler, I will highly recommend Araxi restaurant to guests as well as to my colleagues. We decided to give you 4 out of 5 Stars !!!"

  • "My Partner and I work a lot. So for our anniversary we decided to jet up to Whistler from Vancouver for a couple days of TLC. We chose Araxi because they had an amazing price (39$) on a 4 course dinner that basically left us breathless. I am in the Culinary industry and I know that we should have paid $70 minimum for that quality of dining. It wS absolutely amazing and thr servers were knowledgable and the wine list was not lacking by any standard. I highly recomend Araxi. "

  • "Our family of four (2 adults, 2 kids) had brunch at Araxi. The food, service and atmosphere were exceptional. Tip - as vegetarians, the kids menu didn't have much that my children were interested in so instead, we ordered from the regular sides menu. My son ended up ordering more pancakes after the first order he liked them so much, and the potato cakes were exceptional. "

  • "I took my two (young adult) kids to Araxi's in Whistler for a special dinner out. We opted for the 5-course prix fixe menu, and they did an outstanding job on all fronts- food, service, ambience, etc. catering willingly to our special diets (gluten & dairy-free, vegetarian). The food especially was outstanding- the duck breast and foie gras sausage heavenly! Our server was friendly, super helpful and attentive while allowing us to take our time with our meal, even though we were one of the last to leave...All I can say is, thank for a wonderful family dinner! "

  • "Araxis is always good - sometimes great. This time it was not in the "great" category - mainly because the main course was not as good as usual. But it is consistently a safe bet for dining out and having a good meal"

  • "My husband and I are "foodies" and had the May special - a 5-course meal for $32, and seriously all I can say is a huge, "Thank you!" to the staff. This is an amazing deal for such high quality food and service. Go, if you can. The food was beautiful and delicious and the service extremely good. Araxi continues to be one of the top three best restaurants in Whistler for good reason."

  • "A very enjoyable evening with good service, food and wine. Some disappointment with the pork dish. Needs a little more "accent" to the bland pork. Everything else on the 5-course menu was excellent. "
