Manager Tova Johnson was exceptional. At our someat unusual request she took photos of us on her i phone and emailed them to us so they were on our computer in our hotel room when we returned from a wonderful meal. She did so without hesitation. Was all smles throughout and most accommodating.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat FoodIt was an excellent menu that did not disappoint with whatever you decided to dine on.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been visiting WhistlerWe have been visiting Whistler for over 10 years and always dine at Araxi. Food is always exceptional, service always professional. We always compare Araxi with its Vancouver sibling Blue Water - chosing a winner is always a close one.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMReally excellentAraxi continues to shine. Creative, fresh food sourced as locally as possible. Menu changes regularly to reflect seasonality. Service is friendly and attentive by a well run team of knowledgable servers. A la carte portions can often be on the smallish side but when they do offer prix fixe menu specials the value is outstanding. Don't miss eating here when visiting Whistler.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was outstanding. ServiceFood was outstanding. Service was great. Overall a great experience!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always visit Araxi on ourWe always visit Araxi on our trips to Whistler and it never disappoints. The food is delicious and the portion size is much more to our liking than many places - i.e. not huge! Have recommended it to friends who are visiting as a place for an excellent quality meal.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMDelivered On ExpectationsOur server was great, the room was beautiful and it was a great place for a romantic dinner. The crab roll was to die for and we shared the prawn and lobster cocktail, which was fresh and delicious. All in all, a great spot for a special occasion.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Dine In Whistler 2013 DealAraxi's always been on our "want to try" list and we finally got to try it for Dine in Whistler 2013. At the amazing price of $31 per person, we had a delicious 5-course meal where dishes ranged from very good to "wow". Among the "wow" dishes: carrot coriander soup, risotto, chocolate mousse. Service was friendly and was not rushed even though the restaurant was very busy.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dine in Whistler experienceHad a great time for Dine in Whistler. Prices seem quite high if you can't get a prix fixe menu.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous eveningThe food, service and ambiance was amazing as usual!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the 2 hr drive from VancouverThis was a surprise birthday/bachelorette dinner for our good friend so we drove 2 hours from Vancouver to try this world renowned restaurant. We are from California and were vacationing for only a couple days but the drive alone was breath taking. Our server James was incredibly personable, helpful, funny and really was the cherry on top for this wonderful dining experience. We had the 5 course meal for $31 (what a steal!) with plenty of options. We were quite full but the 3rd course but everything we had was DELICIOUS! Impeccable food, service and ambience. We only wish there was a view from our table to accompany it! Great for special occasions, will definitely not be the last visit to Whistler!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAraxi loves vegansAraxi has a separate vegetarian/vegan and gluten-free menu and can also adjust other items on the regular menu. They have a great selection for vegans and the food is fantastic. They are very accommodating and not once do you feel like it's an inconvenience, as is sometimes the case in other restaurants.
The vegan dishes they offer are delicious, varied and well balanced meals. I would highly recommend it.
Add to that the service is just fantastic.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Dine In Whistler Experience! They are celebrating their 31st anniversary with a Dine In Whistler $31 five course meal. Absolutely great experience that both my girlfriend and myself enjoyed. The service and delivery of the food was impeccable. The restaurant can get quite packed and loud in the evening, so if you want a more quiet/romantic experience I recommend making an earlier reservation.
We returned the next day to enjoy their outdoor patio bar and apres special of a dozen oysters for only $10. Can't beat the village location on a nice, sunny day for some good food, libations and people watching!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDeserves to be rated Best RestauranFrom the greeting at the front door to the goodbye, this restaurant oozes charm and elegance! Ambience is terrific as was the service. The food absolutely fantastic. A must when in Whistler!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Ultimate Foodie Birthday LunchWe just recently returned from Whistler where I planned my own Ultimate Birthday getaway. Araxi was just the spot! from the Champagne, fresh Oysters to Foie Gras and Eggs Benedict...the menu options were plenty, tasty and eye fetching. Our server was top notch and attentive. We wanted to return for dinner too, but that would have been too obvious!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and Waiters Great. Hostess BadBut after making a reservation. we were sat in a private room. from the instant we walked in, we had to wait for 10 minutes and then we got seated in a room by the kitchen and away from all the hustle and bustle of other people enjoying their meal.
we asked the lady that sat us down if we could sit in the open area. and she said there were no tables available and that we had to make a reservation.
A - a made a reservation
B - we checked the open area and there were at least 10 to 15 free tables.
If she had said that we need to spread the service around then fine. But, dont lie.
We asked the waiter and in 2 minutes we were sitting amongst the crowd.
besides the awkward first 20-25 minutes. the place and staff was amazing.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT food at an awesome priceWe went during the Dine In Whistler promotion so got five courses for $31. I thought the portions would be smaller given the price but the entree was very decent-sized; the piece of arctic char I got was so big that I couldn't even finish it! Everything was tasty and each plate was wonderfully presented. This deal is probably the best value you will ever get at Araxi.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMNot to be missed !I had the sashimi special to start, Canada Triple A beef tenderloin and black forest cake for dessert - everything was fantastic. Staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. Atmosphere was modern, hip and delightfully charming. My wife and I will definitely be back on our next visit to Whistler.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food good service, aGreat food good service, a bit noisy due to a large group5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWe come often but the bestWe come often but the best time to come is when the restaurant has specials as it is quite pricey. Worth every penny though.
