Amazing food and amazing service. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the wine list and menu. Took my girlfriend there for her birthday and they suprised us with an amazing desert personalized just they way she loves it. Seafood is amazing and probably was the freshest I've ever had. Menu is very extensive and so is the wine list. Great for a romantic dinner or if you fine yourself with a group of people that appreciate fine dining.

Energetic, and moving. An interesting menu with complex dishes. Complete and diverse enough to please anyone. I couldn't believe it- they even had 2008 Shea Vineyard from Panther Creek! That would surely satisfy anyone visiting from Portland such as myself. Food and wine is surely some of the best in Whistler- no wonder it is so popular. A good job indeed.

Our server was very good and attentive in just the right way. The fresh oyster starter was very good. My salad was pretty but very little flavour in the chosen vegetables or the dressing. For the mains my duck breast was tough. My husband's venison was almost inedible it was so tough, he left most of it. Generally the presentation for all dishes was good but the flavours were very bland and not very complementary to the dish.

We had been trying to get to Araxi for a number of years. We finally had the chance to get there, and when we arrived we were quickly seated and greeted by our waiter, as it was still relatively early in the evening, the space was somewhat quiet. Our waiter was initially prompt and attentive, as the evening progressed and the space filled, the noise in the restaurant substantially rose to an almost unbearable and uncomfortable level, as well the temperature rose. We were disappointed as well for a restaurant with this reputation, there is no apparent minimum dress code in effect. Although the meal was very good, and well presented. It did not make up for the overall dining experience.

We loved the food, but the very busy and loud energy made it feel very mainstream and charmless. Also the server could care less about us. He would quickly answer questions a few times while backing away and not even checking for a response. He was a very nice quy and had a nice smile but we were clearly almost a bother to him. A top restaurant needs to adjust such behavior. It really affected our impression, and my willingness to return.

Would've been awesome if I couldn't touch the person beside us. I couldn't get out to even use the washroom. Way over sat IMO! We were out for a nice date night and got sat with kids right beside us. Other than that it would've been a great night. Paid $$250 for a meal to get stuffed in and sat with kids kind of sucks. We'd definitely be back if it weren't for that. Been several times before and for wine events but never jammed in there like that. So that for us ruined the ambiance. Food was excellent as usual, better than Barefoot except the crowding.

I was very excited to eat here due to their media attention from their cookbook release and Gordon Ramsay comments. However, it was disappointing even though it know it's just lunch. Maybe dinner is better. The crispy halibut tacos had a very bland piece of halibut, which led me to question whether their cooks know what they're doing. Their steamed buns with duck confit had buns that were like they've been frozen before. Their chicken salad and beet salad was great tho. The service was the worse part. It took them about half an hour to clear our table after we finish our starter. And another 15 mins to set our table and another 10 to receive our mains. I think the reason is that they prioritize older customers and didn't take us seriously.

We had a wonderful lunch and two weeks later returned for dinner. the dinner was disappointing, appetiser arrived lacking at least two major ingredients, the dish was not replaced, a small dish contianing the missing items was brought to the table and placed beside the appetiser. I had expected that a reatuarant of this quality would have removed the dish to the kitchen to make the necessary changes. To be fair the cost of the appetiser was deducted form the bill. The wine list is vast and diners need to come with very deep pockets to sample it.

The flavours were truly amazing a blend of all things wonderful. Between the toro sashimi and rabbit our pallets were satisfied. The only issue we found was the description( large plate) and portion size did not match with what we expected. It was an awesome presentation and great flavour. Overall, the service and food were excellent.

Araxi is very expensive. I am happy to pay good money for outstanding food, but I think that Araxi is pushing it for the quality that they provide. They have a $70 bone-in ribeye on the menu. I would FAR rather go to Gotham in Vancouver for a $50 bone-in ribeye made in an actual steakhouse. I did enjoy Araxi though. They have a decent selection of fresh oysters that were prepared fairly well (although not as well as somewhere like Oyster Express in Vancouver) and their appetizers are delicious. I thought that the appetizers were much more delicious than the mains. The service was impeccable at Araxi. Our server was the perfect level of friendly. He wasn't fake and wasn't worried about us buying drinks. Araxi is worth trying out.

We recently had another fine meal at Araxi. The food was outstanding - oysters, beet salad, ribeye. One extremely disappointing part of the evening was the sommelier. We brought a bottle of 96 Lafite and asked for the bottle to be decanted. The "sommelier" appeared and took the bottle away. Ten minutes later she returned with the emptied bottle and a decanter full of the wine announcing to the table that the wine was corked. When asked if she had tasted the wine , the reply "No - I can tell by the smell". We asked to see the cork which she had failed to present. The cork was perfect as was the wine when tasted. The sommelier never returned for the duration of the evening. Embarrassing effort by a clearly unqualified person.

We found that the appetizers and small plates were the highlight, where the main courses (3 out of 4) were very disappointing. The Venison loin, in particular was the lowest note, though not overcooked, it was so dry, it was almost inedible. On the other hand, my friends ordered the salmon and I'm not sure if I've ever tasted a better salmon in my life. I think at a restaurant of this caliper, consistency and reliability is paramount. It was a splurge/special occasion and to not have all of the entrees come out superbly was a big buzz kill given the price point. We still had fun, but would have really loved it if the food met up with the hype.

Food was well thought out and nicely presented. Sashimi was the freshest I have ever tasted. Simply divine. Both our meat dishes were slightly over done but 'close'. Portions should be a little larger. Neither one of us eats a lot and we were still hungry after appy and main. Stellar wine list and good recommendations. Desserts were excellent as was the coffee.

We were in British Columbia visiting Whistler and very excited to try this restaurant as we watch Mr. Ramsey on tv. Our waiter was wonderful and helpful and the food was amazing! Our dinner took quite a bit longer than we had hoped (a good 40 minutes) but the manager brought us a dessert sampler on the house and was very apologetic. All in all this was a great dining experience and we would definitely good back. Try to oysters 5 ways for sure!

Best place to celebrate ('twas my 60th birthday) any special occasion. Relaxed yet fine dining experience. We had the five ways oysters and New York steak. The server was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs accommodating my picky requests (gluten-free bread was fresh from the oven!). I also exchanged my fries with more veges and that was ok with them. Dessert was the vanilla ice cream covered in chocolate and the marinated cherries over it was simply amazing.

Only thing that was good about Araxi was the food. Service was not good at all. They were paying no attention to our needs but the tables beside us were getting all the attention. My opinion on it was they figured they were going to get a better tip because the people beside us were older than we were and they were going to tip better. Never judge a book by its cover. Also the table beside us were so loud we couldn't even hold a conversation. Wasn't a very enjoyable anniversary dinner. Also we noticed the evening manager made his rounds to talk to all the tables but ours. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant to nobody. The Sidecut restaurant we went to the night before blew Araxi out of the water.

We dined at Araxi whilst in Whistler last year and enjoyed it, so returned on this year's visit. The location, right in the heart of the village is very convenient and on a nice evening the outside tables are a great place to sit and watch the world go by. Inside has a warm atmosphere too, if the weather is not up to it. Food and beverage choice is extensive and there's a decent kids' menu if you need it. Our only negative on this occasion was that the service seemed rather slow, even though the staff levels (front of house at least) were reasonable. We'd been there about an hour by the time our mains turned up, although we enjoyed them when they did.
