Diner Reviews
  • "Dined outside and had the most amazing time. The service was great and the food was out of this world! Highly recommend it!!!"

  • "Four of us went for a casual dinner on a quiet Wednesday night. The service was extremely slow to the point we almost fell asleep since it was so late out. We started dinner at 8:15 and by the time the waiter finally came over to give us our check it was after 10:30. It took about 30 minutes for soup/salads to come out, then another hour or so for our main course to come out. It was by no means busy. They started clearing all the tables around us at 10 after it seems others cut there meals early because service was so poor. It was very disappointing especially considering how pricey the menu is."

  • "Had a lovely evening for dinner. Enjoyed the food, and the lobster bake was a lot of fun. The ambiance and the grills at the terrace made for a fun experience."

  • "Went 1st time during restaurant week. Nice property right on harbor. Choose to be seated inside. Waiter John was very pleasant. Flatbreads and Caesar were very good. Rigatoni bolognese was also very good. Other 2 dishes were only so-so. Sea bass was cooked well and was hot, served w/ succotash that was well seasoned but cold. Chicken was very dry, it's different succotash was good. When told chicken was dry, was offered replacement. By that time everyone was done, so opted to pass on replacement. Dessert was also mixed. Gelato/ sorbetto combo was good. Did not care for pannacottas. Aragosta took the entire chicken meal off the bill. Thank you."

  • "For the third time in a row this summer, the service was extremely slow and the staff inattentive. The desserts (none of which had to be baked/cooked) took 20 minutes to arrive to the table after the meal plates were taken away (desserts were ordered at the beginning). In addition, for the first time, the food was bland, and the portions (particularly on the lobster roll) were skimpy."

  • "Love the setting and ambiance. Really feels like you're away on vacation. Inside is quiet and calm, great service. I live in the neighborhood and it's a great place for drinks and bar snacks which are very good. However the food in the dining room is more akin to the food served at a conference or very large event. I have had dinner there about five time since it originally opened, with several different chefs and it's such a disappointment ...so much potential!!"

  • "We always love Aragosta. Sitting by the harbor is wonderful. The inside is also very nice. Our server recognized us even though it had been a while since our last visit. He was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The location is perfect. On the water, but in a less crowded part of Boston Harbor, so it is very peaceful. We shared an appetizer and an entrée and each had our own glass of wine - a perfect relaxing dinner!"

  • "It was a wonderful night outside at the fire pits. Great fondue and s'mores!"

  • "We love sitting on the water enjoying a cappuccino and a fabulous breakfast. It doesn't get much better than Aragosta. The eggs were a little overdone for my eggs benedict, but they were quickly taken away and replaced with perfectly poached eggs. The excellent wait person kindly removed the dish from our bill....very unexpected, not requested, but much appreciated. The yogurt, granola and fruit platter was sumptuous. This is a serious contender for any great breakfast/brunch spot in Boston."

  • "One of finest waterfront views of the Atlantic!! Absolutely gorgeous!!"

  • "Aragosta met all the right criteria for Boston-waterfront-outdoor dining. The entrance through the lobby and lounge made a great first impression for the style and vibe of the restaurant. Our group of four sat outside and enjoyed the waterfront view. The service was excellent and paced exactly right. The menu selections were wonderful--so hard to choose! The food was prepared perfectly and was delicious. Our group enjoyed the lobster risotto, heirloom tomato salads, lobster flatbread, a chicken entree, and gnocchi. It was all very very good. The valet service was friendly and prompt. This is a must try in the Commercial Street area of the North End."

  • "Loved everything about it; food was great, service was great, and looking out at the harbor wasn't too shabby either."

  • "creative dishes, delicious food and wine, fantastic outside dining. Wait person was very skillful and knowledgeable, but on the chilly side (not a warm, friendly person)."

  • "We went here on a Friday night with another couple. We started our meal indoors in the bar area. We split the chefs selection for cheeses and meats. They was a good variety. We aslo split the sausage and broccoli rabe flatbread. It was delicious! After we finished the pizza- with a yummy pitcher of white sangria- we headed outside to the Terrace. We sat around a fire-pit and feasted on gruyere cheese fondue followed by make-your-own s'mores. A delicious & fun evening."

  • "What a perfect spot in Boston's North End. Aragosta is right on the water with a spectacular view and it's away from the noise and bustle of Hanover St and other North End locations. I came here with a group of 7 and everyone was blown away with how delicious the food was, and of course the good service. Get a table on the patio if you can. Several people had the gnocchi which was amazing, we also had the chef's platter of cheese and charcuterie, the pork confit, the lobster risotto, and some of the freshest raw oysters I've ever had. Everything was great and the party was delighted with the whole experience. I would definitely come here again and recommend to anyone who wants a memorable night out."

  • "We went for brunch. The price is on the high end, ($75 with tip for two entrees, two drinks) but the food was amazing. Our server was very attentive. It started to rain by the end of our meal, but she continued to wait on us, even though she got wet doing so. The outdoor seating is one of the best in the city. It's on the water, off of any street so just pedestrian traffic goes by. My only complaint was the hostesses. We had a 10:30 reservation, there were plenty of tables available, but we were not seated until 11:10. When I would ask the hostess about how much longer, I was told they were cleaning our table. I could literally see this was not the case. We eventually sat ourselves and I got a high chair myself because it took so long."

  • "We had a great time. Very entertaining waiter and food was yummy."

  • "First of all I appreciated that the restaurant honored my reservation request to have a table on the terrace. The host and hostess were friendly when we first arrived and the wait staff was also very nice. The food looked as good as it tasted, and of course the view from the terrace was scenic. My only complaint is that the timing of the food wasn't good; we were only about half done with our appetizers before the main course arrived at our table."

  • "We celebrated a night out among longtime girlfriends and a wonderful time. Service was impeccable, table was lovely, ( gorgeous water glasses!) Aldo our waiter was fun and extremely attentive. The chefs selection appetizer platter was almost enough for a meal, but we shared small plates tapas style on a lobster theme and every dish was a dream! Great evening. Thank you."
    Dined on 7/16/2014
  • "Ask for Aldo! He was extremely personable and provided amazing service. The restaurant is a ten out of ten without him, but with Aldo as your waiter it's a twenty out of ten! Great place for seafood and a view of the water. The oysters were delicious and the scallops melt in your mouth like butter. It's a must try."

  • "sat on the outdoor patio which is highly recommended, not enough outdoor seating options in Boston. Very Good food but pricey and probably over priced. Paying for the location. Doesnt have the most dinner options on the menu, but what they have is very well done. Would recommend for special occasions. Can also reserve fire pit tables which looks like would be good for a group."

  • "You can't beat the waterfront tables on a warm summer night in Boston. Food is somewhat expensive, but choose a couple of small plates as a fun option. Service was a little irregular because our server spent a lot of time talking and telling stories to other tables, while our water was not always refilled. Request terrace dining when you book - that's the best thing about it. Also note that they do NOT validate Parcel 7 Garage."

  • "We made reservations for outdoor seating on a stunning summer evening and arrived early. After having a drink in the lounge, we expected to be seated at our reserved time. We were still not seated 35 minutes later. We finally opted for indoor seating because we were rather hungry. Our waiter was great, but the food took forever and we had to send the night's special back because it was dry and over cooked. The lobster flatbread also tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. It may have been a one off, but given the price tag, I expected much better food and service. I would not go back."

  • "Food was pretty good but the menu was limited. Also wish they had a heathy alternative to fries with lunch."

  • "We were there for lunch and, because it was a beautiful day, requested a table on the terrace. The service was very professional and we were very comfortable under our umbrella. The food we were served was beautiful. The beverages were beautiful and even the water - beautiful It seems to be their goal to make everything they offer to be visually stunning. And it all tasted great too."

  • "Used a Travelzoo voucher for a great lunch for 2. I was concerned after reading reviews of long wait times as we had a plane to catch at Logan at 4pm. We mentioned this to the server and he expedited our lunch but we never felt rushed."

  • "I love being able to conveniently make a reservation online. It went through smooth and flawless. The Aragosta has a very nice waterside patio, which is quiet and relaxing for it's location. The valet parking is good and at $14 for 3 hours, that is the best parking rate in the area (unless you're lucky to find street parking). The food was great too (lunch menu). I suggest the flat bread for an appetizer, much more then just flat bread and tastes amazing. Their iced tea is different, maybe a hint of fruitiness, anyways it too is recommended if you drink iced tea."

  • "Wonderful to sit outside. Service was terrible. Had 7:30 pm reservation. Got there then and was told table was not ready. Turns out it was empty and it took 25 mins to set it for two. Then waited 45 for our apps to arrive - oysters I might add. Then waited and waited for main course. Waiter was surly and inattentive. We live in the neighbourhood and sadly, this is not the first time that that we have had such a disappointing experience."

  • "Above average fare with a gorgeous view of the Boston Waterfront. The only drawback is the high cost..., even given the quality."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "We waited for an outside table for our lunch on a beautiful day. It was 12 minutes before we were even acknowledged once we were seated. Our particular waiter seemed inexperienced, once he spoke to us. The food was very good and creatively presented, but the service was lacking and extremely slow by our wait person. The patio was not busy by this time, but something was amiss."

  • "Had the most delicious meal here the other day. Started with a drink at the bar, the cocktail list was full of original concoctions. Then got seated outside, what a beautiful patio! Lovely ambiance. All of the food was exceptional, and our waiter was funny and attentive. The only downside was we finished our main courses around 1030, asked for dessert menus, and we're told we would have to move inside if we wanted to continue our evening! We opted to just get our check. This wouldn't have bothered me if there weren't other diners outside still working on appetizers! Oh well, saved me the calories and probably an extra 40 bucks on my check!"

  • "It is great place to go if you want to enjoy a very relaxing dining experience. You can sit in the back by the water and it is so calm/quiet. It is the perfect place for a first date, catch up with a friend, or a romantic outing. They treat you very nice and the food options are delicious. "
