Aragosta Bar and BistroFather's Day Dinner/ClambakeMy husband and I had a wonderful Father’s Day dinner on the terrace overlooking the Harbor. My husband had the clambake, which comes with clams, lobster, sausage, corn, potatoes, cornbread, and watermelon – and much to his surprise and delight, a Sam Summer. I had the mixed greens and an app portion of the lobster gnocchi, both of which were delicious. Our server, Aldo, was attentive and entertaining. Chef Graham wasn’t present that day; however, the menu he’s created will keep us coming back. There are many more items on the menu that I'd like to try, and I have to return for a S’more on the terrace!6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat tme with old friends! We visited Aragosta on a Friday night. I had made later reservations but traffic was light and we arrived 45 minutes early! Thankfully, they were able to seat us and we had a terrific time. Drinks were great, wait staff very helpful and friendly but gave you space, and our meals were wonderful. We were able to sit outside and it was a perfect night for it!
I'd definitely suggest this place to friends who were willing to spend a bit - but it's worth it.
Thanks!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDazzling dining experienceAragosta Bar and Bistro is a meal experience that you don't want to miss, from the great food to the amazing wine and the impeccable service. During my visit I reserved seating at the chefs counter and had an amazing five course meal with wine pairing, that I would recommend to anyone even if you're not a big wine drinker. Everything that we had starting with the potato gnocchi to the amazing dessert assortment was incredible. The service was astounding and chef Ralph guided us through every plate as it arrived. The team of waitstaff and chefs were very friendly and welcoming. I will be returning again and again for the royal treatment that is Aragosta.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat TheatreIf you can sit at the bar, the cooks are wonderful entertainment.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dining experience,Excellent dining experience, I was meeting the president of the company I work for, with his family, and it was a perfect choice with excellent food.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFairmont Battery Wharf NightlifeAragosta Bar is so chic but beautiful..they have wonderful drinks..the restaurant was beautiful..and our waiter was terrific..We had win and oysters, then our meals were great..although a bit smaller portions than I would have liked..Desserts were wonderful as we had the sampler plate...Overall, I had my 2 daughters (19 and 21) there, my husband and myself, and our 2 brother in laws, and the bill was pricey, but we had wine and oysters too...I still like it for special occasions5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything Done RightThe chefs are fantastic, and if you sit at the chef's counter, you can watch them make everything. They will explain all aspects of the menu and answer your questions like pros. The servers really know their stuff and can make good recommendations about wine pairings. The patio is a lovely place to get a view of the water while you eat some great food.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWater front gemHotel restaurant with excellent food, on the water, nice even on a rainy day. In the center of North End, near the Freedom trail,
A great place to walk to5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day treatWe went for Mother's Day brunch and it was delicious and delightful. Had not been to Battery Wharf in the North End before so this was a treat. PLUS the restaurant was offering a complimentary harbor cruise. How could we refuse? And now that we know about Aragosta we'll definitely be back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a 6:30 reservationWe had a 6:30 reservation but after walking around the North End we arrived at 5:15. They were most accomadating and we had a lovely early dinner. The service was wonderful as was the food and wine. Would definitly plan on going there again.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMStep above normal hotel diningOverall, very good experience. Service was good, if a little slow. Not to the point of iiritation, but notable. My wife and daughter had some drinks from the cocktail menu. Liked them both. Very decent wine list by the glass.Something for everyone's food tastes on the menu. Great crispy gnocchi appetizer. Everyone loved their entrees. My braised short rib was terrific. I had asked for a small birthday cake for my daughter. They did not get it in time, so they put together a beautiful dessert plate for her with the requisite candle. They comped this which was really nice of them.Wait staff were very nice and attentive. The outdoor patio is nice but you stare directly at the Coast Guard cutters nearby.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI had moderate expectationsI had moderate expectations for food and high expectations for location; was not clear about service. After a nice evening at Aragosta, I concluded that the food was very good, far better than expected, and our server (Colleen) was outstanding. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Furthermore, there is jazz entertainment in the lobby lounge on Saturdays (and Fridays I think) and Richard, the host, was very amenable to ensuring that we secure a nice spot in the jazz area after dinner. The jazz was excellent, and the drinks, delicious.
The only disappointing thing about the evening turned out to be the location - to my surprise, the restaurant really has no view of the water. This makes the interior seating seem rather generic and hotel-y.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch/Brunch was great. Food,Lunch/Brunch was great. Food, service and atmosphere were all excellent. Want to move into the condos in the area so we can come more often!! (lol)
Stuffed mozzarella with strawberries and tomatoes were amazing. Wait staff was warm, attentive and helpful.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGo to Aragosta soon!We chose this restaurant because it fit the 3 things we were looking for: North End of Boston, Italian food, and availability. I scanned the menu and away we went. The restaurant was lovely, our server was very knowledgeable, accommodating and fun, and we had some really great food. I would definitely go back and try a couple of other things that looked interesting, and the outside seating area looks really inviting.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI have lived in Boston forI have lived in Boston for 10 years and didn't even know this area existed, but my friends and I were beyond impressed. We went for Restaurant Week and the amount and types of selections on the menu were amazing. EVERYTHING we had exceeded expectations: Lobster Truffle Crostini, Burata, Calamari, Short Ribs, and the Catch of the day (Trout). They also have a year round fire pit on the waterfront to roast smores :) - I haven't been to that part yet, but I will be back there more than just one other time!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friends and I went forMy friends and I went for Restaurant Week and we loved it. excellent service and excellent food! Perfect portion size as well.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI dined during restaurantI dined during restaurant week at Aragosta. The beet/goat cheese salad was out of this world!! We ordered antipasto as as extra -- pretty typical but quality meats. I had the carbonara for dinner -- theirs is a bit unconventional with soy beans instead of peas. Very, very good and not too heavy but nothing super unusual. Olive oil cake was something different -- sort of a light, lemony pound cake. It was also very good. Serving sizes were just right3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMI brunched here with a girlfriendI brunched here with a girlfriend during restaurant week and we were both very impressed with the service and the quality! The waitress was very generous and helpful and the food was amazing. The harbor looks beautiful from the restaurant and I can only imagine how nice this place would be in the summer. I will definitely be back!3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMMy friend and i were disappointedMy friend and i were disappointed to dins out the the restaurant week website advertised Aragosta's Saturday menu incorrectly. We made reservations specifically for their lunch menu but when we got there we found out they were only serving brunch on the weekends! Luckily our server Loredana was kind enough to check and see if any of the lunch menu was available for them to prepare for us. And something was! We were able to try their lobster bisque (delish) as well as the gourmet grilled cheese that we were looking forward to. Loredana helpful and extremely accommodating. We were very satisfied and full!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe came to hear a little jazzWe came to hear a little jazz and a bite to eat. We didn't realize we were going to hear a first-rate quintet that could hold its own at NYC's top clubs! Lance Houston and his sidemen are worth going out of your way to hear. On top of that, we were very pleasantly surprised to have such attentive service and such great food! A delightful evening all around. We will make a point of returning next time we're in Boston.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious, Delightful, EnticingAragosta Bar & Bistro got what Restaurant Week was all about- give diners a chance to sample some of their notable menu selections, delight them, and entice them to come back. I surely will! Our waiter, Dan, was truly a professional. He knew what wines to suggest pairing with any selection on the Restaurant Week menu. The price point to add pairings was spot on. His knowledge and recommendations were impeccable, as was his pronunciation of the dishes and components. The new chef, Graham, also made an appearance at our table so we could pass on our compliments. All in all, we walked away delighted with our dinner, excited to come back and try Graham's new concoctions, and amused with the new music schedule they have going on.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent experience! My boyfriend and I decided to check out Aragosta based on a friend's recommendation. We went during Restaurant Week and sat at the "Chef's Counter". What a great experience this was - we were able to watch the chef's prepare appetizers and entrees, which made it easy for us to decide what to get! The restaurant week menu did not disappoint, and the wine pairings were an added treat! The food was excellent, and after we had finished eating, one of the chefs offered to show us the patio out back. We definitely plan to return this summer to take advantage of this hidden gem!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant this year for me!The food was fabulous. I recommend the short ribs. They were delicious!!! The services was perfect!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMNice done, and a good diningNice done, and a good dining option if one doesn' want to venture out from the hotel,3/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAragosta? Yes Please!Aragosta never fails to amaze me! I have been to this establishment numerous times and always leave satisfied with the food, service and atmosphere. We had Dan as our waiter who was very attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable about their menu/wine pairings. The entrees were prepared by Ralph who put a lot of care and detail into each dish. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants, not just in the North End, but Boston overall. I highly recommend Aragosta!2/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place is perfect. ItThis place is perfect. It is on Boston Harbor, but at the quiet end, so no hordes of people. In the warmer months they have a wonderful outside space with lovely views of the water. The food is special and the service matches it. We had the prix fixe menu on Christmas day, and it was superb. We chatted with 2 couples near us who were dining there for the first time, and they were so pleased and planning to return!12/25/2012 12:00:00 AMWe had an excellent brunchWe had an excellent brunch here. The crepes with scrambled eggs and spinach were delicious and light, the poached egg benedict was also terrific, and the accompanying salad greens and tomatoes were fresh and tasty. Service was very attentive, the setting was lovely, and the prices for the quality were very reasonable. We'd gladly return here for another brunch in the future!12/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
