Aragona is a chef driven, deeply personal “author’s” cuisine that serves simple and sophisticated versions of classic dishes from Spain, utilizing the products of small, local farmers and local and imported artisans. There will be an emphasis on examining the roots of these cuisines, namely, using the historical reach of the kingdom of Aragon as a lens to explore and promote how boundaries of power, empire and trade influenced and shaped traditional and modern dishes from these regions.Continued

  • "A little too expensive for this to be a regular spot but definitely a special occasion dining place. Tried all the fish options on their menu (they are open to serving food family/tapas style even though the portions & prices are for entrees instead of tapas) - halibut, salmon & trout. Loved all 3 of them. We went in for the cocktails though everyone around us was doing paired wines ... they seem to have a pretty decent selection of wines and good sommeliers to guide you through picking the right wine to pair. Will go back there for another special dinner!"

  • "Four of us went to Aragona for dinner on Saturday. Wow, we were impressed. The food was really good - but I have to say that the service was some of the best we've had. The way they presented the options, worked with us on our choices, and presented the food was really outstanding - for instance, two of us split a steak and they even presented it to us with our particular 'heat' levels (med & med-well). Go, have fun!"

  • "The first courses were excellent specifically the gazpacho and a dish of thinly sliced mortadella. The steak which at $44 was overpriced was tasty but a bit too greasy the halibut was tasty with a nice sauce but a bit overdone. Desserts were superb as well as the coffee. The wine steward was knowledgeable and the service was excellent. I'd give it another try"

  • "Using open table for my dinner reservation was very easy, love it! I went for dinner on a Saturday night with my husband and some friends, we are a big fans of Spanish food, specifically Tapas (appetizers) which Aragona didn't really have. The food was good, but not great, the prices are a little bit high for the lacking flavor food. The service is good, the ambience is pretty boring, I wish they would play some Flamenco music. My advise go to the lounge for happy hour instead of dinner."

  • "Had our first dinner here on 5/31 and were sadly disappointed. The hostess gave us an option of sitting in the main dining room (beautiful decor, no view) or in the lounge (beautiful day, nice view). It was great to have an option, and we chose to sit in the lounge. Unfortunately the service in the lounge was akin to a fast food restaurant... very brusque, no warmth, no engagement from our server. She literally threw menus (and flatware, and drinks, etc...) down on the table and rushed away. No explanation of the menu, no conversation. Our plates were whisked away before we took the last bite (and the lounge was not busy/full). The menu was quite limited, food was good, but for $250 for 2 we expected much better service."

  • "Upon approaching the restaurant you notice a fabulous view of the Seattle waterfront. The restaurant has a wonderful open seating area with lots of light. The staff was pleasant, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, they explained and aspect of our dining experience as needed,kept the table cleared when dishes were completed. Our meals were served at the correct temperature and flavors filled your taste buds with pleasure, the meal was a true delight. I would return try other dishes, enjoy the bar area and recommend to anyone looking for an evening out."

  • "Maybe I am old-fashioned, or carry baggage as a former server, but when paying over $100 a person. I expect the service to be near impeccable - instead, ordered items were forgotten (an increasingly common casualty associated with odd trend of doing away with writing orders down), cocktails & wine arrived too late to be enjoyed with our courses, we ordered dessert from a busser, overall slow service (despite half-full restaurant on a werk night), our server virtually disappeared half-way thru dinner. And then brought us the wrong check...otherwise, the food was excellent and a beautiful dining space."

  • "We chose to sit in the lounge because of the water front view. Service started out great, but then got choppy. Food took a long while to come out, and seemed to come in waves. While our water glasses were always full, we didn't see much of our waiter and at the end of the meal, just put the dessert menus down and walked away. Strange. I think he was having a tough time with the other tables next to us? The food was really a mixed bag. We ordered a few things to start, and then a couple entrees. The chips and the croquetas were the stars. I could eat them every day, but the rest was meh or just down right not good, particularly the strawberry gazpacho. Plenty of other options in the area that will give you better taste in Seattle. "

  • "We had a great night. Distinctive cocktails; my favorite was the Poniente - a refreshing sherry-based cocktail. The entrates special was sublime - a strawberry-pepper soup. Extraordinary! My friend had the lamb chops which the entire table agreed was the best lamb we had ever tasted. Service was flawless - our water glasses were never empty, the sommelier was accommodating and informative, and our server was good-humored, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. We will be back."

  • "We took some friends here visiting from LA and of course were running late and traffic was awful. We called ahead of time as we knew we would we be late and they moved our reservation back no problem, no fuss, no heavy sighs or guilt. We had a great table off on its own - view of the wheel. Staff was fantastic, great wine, freaking fantastic food. It was just magical that with all of us being so picky, there was not a single complaint but groans of pleasure. We even licked the plates clean lol!"

  • "Like its sister restaurants Artusi & Spinasse, Aragona is a foodie's paradise with a Spanish flair--right down to the rough hewn oak furniture. The dishes are expertly prepared, presented and attentively served with a minimum of fuss. The wine list is ready to provide you with the many unique vintages only Spanish wines can provide, including several not found in any wine shop. It's on the high end of your dining budget, but the cost is soon lost in reverie of the meal. For small parties, consider dining in the bar. It's a more intimate space with Market staircase views and full menu. All in all, another hit for chef Jason Stratton!"

  • "From the moment you enter Aragona, the dining experience has started. The modern and elegant decor, the kind hostess and the attention of servers is all top notch. The menu is short but wonderful, food that quality can only be made by such dedicated and knowledgeable chefs. We started with a plate of dried meats and foie gras and the Spotted prawns and both were delicious. As a main course I had the Cabbage Stuffed Rabbit with foie gras and my husband had the Rice with pork ribs and chickpeas and they were both made to perfection. The table setting allows for a view of the open kitchen and bar and it was a pleasure to see the dedication, focus and congeniality working together. A beautiful evening!"

  • "Ordered Chicory Salad w Anchovy Dressing then Rice w Boneless Pork Ribs (from the Arroces section of the menu). My dinner partner ordered a Charcuterie Plate then Halibut. He drank a Corsican white (a selection he was surprised to find), I drank a non-alcoholic cocktail (too much ice!). We finished with a Rwandan from their list of six micro-roast ground coffees. I asked the waiter for guidance with the starter. His method ('progress, pair, or oppose') was surprisingly articulate. So pleased to find a restaurant offering a true selection of coffees. The waiter was (again) articulate about each roaster. Looking around mid-meal I caught echoes of favorite european restaurants (NL, DE, DK). Wish they had a view in the main dining room!"

  • "Aragona is definitely for foodies. There are some wonderful dishes on the menu. Unfortunately, the menu is quite limited and those less adventurous might not find options. Our waitress was wonderful about offering some more simple preparations for someone who didn't want anything raw, didn't care for foie gras or roe which seemed prevalent on the small menu, and generally preferred to eat vegetarian, but at those prices, we weren't really ready to experiment. The size of portions for the price was quite disappointing. That being said, there are some lovely and delicious dishes and a very interesting blend of "northwest inspired" Spanish/Catalonian/Andalusian foods. The wine list is excellent and service could not have been better."

  • "From the very front door which magically opened as we walked up, and through the entire dining experience, Aragona was a delightful experience. One member of our party is dairy intolerant, and our very professional waiter had great suggestions, and didn't mind checking carrfully to see that things were or weren't appropriate. Trout with Serrana ham was spectacular, Rabbit sausage with foie gras was heavenly, salad was fresh, fresh, fresh, and wines suggested with courses were excelent spanish varieties. View from bar is unparallled looking out over Elliott Bay from high up. We definitely will go back and recommend this spanish flavored treasure."

  • "Other reviews had suggested eating in the bar area, prefering the views over Eliot Bay over the "sterile" dining area. Overlooking the roofs of the market and the ferris wheel or out to the 4 Seasons Hotel across the street was not exactly a pleasure. The service, however, from the front desk staff who greeted us and took our coats, to all the servers, was really fine. Very engaged and pleasant waitstaff. Food and wine/drinks were very good, well prepared and presented, but (as is the current style) it's hard to make a coherent meal out of a small set of very particular dishes."

  • "Excellent cocktails. Highly recommend their take on the martini: (I believe it was called Garden Fresh) Local gin, french vermouth and celery bitters. Oh so good! I've never had spanish wines like the ones they served with fresh scallops and pureed nettles, fresh local greens with vermouth, garlic dressing, rabbit sausage and grilled octopus. Very knowledgeable and attentive staff. Perfect place to go after seeing the Miro exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum. They even gave us a deal on dessert just for showing our tickets to the show."

  • "This was our second evening at Aragona, and once again the food was superb. We sat in the bar area and ordered strictly from their tapas menu, which was lovely. Our favorites were the pork belly, the pork rillettes, and the quail eggs. The sommelier was again very attentive and helpful with choices from their superb wine list. Several at our table sampled an amantillado sherry that was outstanding. The only dark spot in the evening was that once the plates were served, our server disappeared for about a half hour, and we had to hunt him down in the main dining area to ask him to bring us dessert menus. I would not sit in the bar for that reason, plus the fact that it does not have as much atmosphere as the main dining room."
