A word from Arabian Nights
Arabian Nights is a Middle Eastern themed restaurant with Lebanese food. The decor and mood lighting will sweep you away to another place and time. There is a wine and beer bar in front with fine dining in the rear. Large parties are welcome. Catering is also available.
I celebrated my birthday there
with ten friends including two kids. Our waitress, Nina, was very nice and helpful and suggested dishes for us to order. The food was delicious and service was perfect. They sat us even though our entire party didn't arrive ontime. When we got there, our reserved table was already set. We brought our own cake which they held for us in the kitchen and then brought it out with lit candles and sang. And the waitress brought plates and cut and served the cake and didn't charge a cake fee. Everything was just perfect. I highly recommend the restaurant. I'll be back."

Went with a friend-we lived the
mezzes -both hot & cold. Wine list not great-could use some upgrades to better choices."

We didn't have the chance to try
the food since Management refused to honor a Groupon, which was approved by the hostess when we made our reservation. For $30 worth of food for a $12 discount, we started with an expensive bottle of wine and would have spent well over $150.00 for dinner for two. We never had the chance. It was embarrassing and we, as locals, will never return to be singled out amongst an albeit empty restaurant on a Saturday night. The server was fantastic and very apologetic and embarrassed as well. The hostess chose to "not recall" when confronted."

We showed up for our lunch
reservation, and the restaurant was closed. We saw another couple that looked similarly misled. Gave food and ambience ratings solely to be allowed to submit review. We never made it inside to find out."
Dined on 2/15/2014
I had made a reservation for lunch
with a client. Upon reaching there we were told that they are not open for lunch. How do you accept a reservation if you are not open for lunch. Very disappointed. Never going there every again."

Great service, but was a bit slow.
Otherwise, phenomenal food and our waiter was very sweet!"

Authentic Arabian Food can be
found at this place, have good food and ambiance is nice"

You have to get the Quayle!! All
the Meat is perfectly prepared, ask for the garlic sauce and the hot sauce. It's a fun crowd and the belly dancer on Saturday nights is a fun touch."

We had bought a coupon on Amazon
Local for this restaurant and since it was going to expire soon, we thought we should use it. I specifically bought the coupon because it looked like it might have been owned by a Lebanese family which is part of my heritage. When I brought up the coupon, the waitress said that it wasn't valid on Friday or Saturdays. No where on the coupon did it say this. We also were surprised that they didn't seem to have multiple wine by the glass options that were listed on the menu. The waitress said that they were in the process of changing over their wine options. Since the wine list was printed on two smaller pieces of paper, it would have been easy to reprint the list. Regardless, the food was very good and fresh!"

Their meze plates and shish kebabs
are terrific. Make sure you get the assortment. If Pita bread is fresh from the oven."

The food was good, but they were
unable to make any adjustments to the dishes. For example, one person's order came with asparagus, another's with grilled tomatoes and onions. The person who got the grilled tomatoes and onions asked if he could have asparagus instead; the answer was no. Another diner and I shared a dish which really needed some vegetables -- when we asked if we could order a side of vegetables, the answer was "no". I'm not sure what was so difficult about these requests -- but our evening would have been much improved if we could been offered a bit more flexibility. Also, the website indicated that they had belly dancing on Saturday nights, but no such dancer appeared."

Food was good, service was good.
Unfortunately the Restaurant did not honor a voucher for the meal purchased through Groupon. They said they do not accept them on weekends, but that was not expressed in the offer nor was it stated on the voucher. Additionally, there was almost no one on the restaurant so there was no reason not to accept it and I specified that I had the voucher when I made the reservation and they did not contact me to let me know it would not be honored. I find their business deceptive and dishonest."

The initial 10-15 minutes were a
bit awkward for us having to decide between a fixed price ($40 per person) vs. ala carte menu. It would be nice if the restaurant mentioned this on your menu for everyone to see while making the reservation. It just came off as the host trying to up-sell their services. We do understand that hosting a big party is chaotic and their intention was probably to make ordering food easy for everyone. That was the only part of the evening we didn't enjoy. The food is good, service is attentive without being intrusive. This place will stay on my list for "Big Group" dinners."

Fresh produce and generous
servings make this quite a food find. Nothing greasy. Were told they're going to be adding entertainment but would definitely return with or without it."

Difficult to hear your dining
companion over all the conversation - wood floors/high ceilings. Our server was knowledgeable and very helpful"
Dined on 1/4/2014
The food is wonderful. But in
visiting twice in the past week I've seen the restaurant understaffed. Only one person to serve food and one to bus the first time, and on the next two to serve and no one to bus. Our ticket 'slipped away' from the chefs the first time so it was maybe 45 minutes from order to receiving our entree. On the other visit it took 5 minutes for us to be acknowledged at the door then another 10 to take our order after we got our own menus, and we had to remind our server about our drinks. The other server was great about actually bringing our food, especially when he realized the kitchen had missed one of our two entrees. We really enjoy the place but the service used to be terrific and now is a disappointment."

Took a friend there for dinner and
enjoyed the food, conversation with the waitress, and the ambience. Parking was difficult but not impossible. Food in General was high quality, though the grilled chicken was on the dry side. Will definitely go back."

The fresh baked pita breads makes
for an awesome start to a lovely meal. Everything was good. The chicken shawarma plate is one of the best I've ever had. The knafeh was my first time, and it was amazing. The service was great too!"
Dined on 12/29/2013
the Mediterranean food could be
more elaborate! The service was good except that one of the waiter poured water in my glass of wine because he didn't pay any attention on what he was doing the Atmosphe is pretty good, nice and big venue, ideal for groups."

I took my wife here for her
birthday. She had heard about this restaurant from a friend so we wanted to check it out. The food was alright, but it was nicely presented. I asked them privately if they could get a piece of cake or get some birthday candles with the dessert. The lady said she would figure out something but later on as we were finishing up, I realized that she was gone and I just ended up getting the check. Also, I am not sure if they had a designated waiter/waitress as I ended up dealing with three waitresses all in all. If it wasn't for this special event, I'd say it would have been a good experience overall."
Dined on 12/20/2013
food was better than expected,
which is great, but service was poor, with the exception of the greeter. although all food was delivered to table, the server barely acknowledged our presence. overall vibe given out by staff was that they were doing us a favor by being there."
Dined on 11/29/2013
Some of the best food and service
around; all in all, a very enjoyable experience. We are definitely going back. Easy to get to, between the 16th and 24th St BART Stations."

Love the cauliflower appetizer.
Friendly service. The lamb chops were a little overcooked."

Management refused to honor our
Living Social voucher which plainly states "$60 worth of food and drinks for party of 2 or more." We were a party of three. Restaurant manager said it was a misprint. When we pointed out that we're not responsible for the "misprint," she offered no accommodation, stating that we could apply what we'd paid for the voucher towards our bill or keep the voucher and return with a party of 4. Seriously, after her mistreatment, how she could possibly think that we would want to return to her restaurant. NEVER AGAIN!!!"

If you want the real deal, then
Arabian Nights is the place to go!"
Dined on 11/8/2013
You would think the folks who own
this place would know by now that there is no reason to go to this place because of the location. The coupons were a good idea to introduce us to the place and the food. The first time we invited 2 friends and we weren't impressed, the second time we invited 2 more friends and the food was worse. Lamb was all but un-chewable, steak the same. I'll never return and I'm sure my four friends won't either."
Dined on 10/27/2013
We were discouraged from visiting
the area by our concierge - he said it is rough at night. I am so glad we did not listen. It was more than OK to be there - great vibrant area - do not hesitate! The food was perfect - the service was friendly and the prices were so reasonable. Thanks for a great time and bringing a bit of home to us while on vacation."

I asked for 2 mins on the menu and
the waitress said they were very busy so we needed to order now. It's not like I took ages to order. Thought that was very uncool. Food was really good."
Dined on 10/6/2013
I love this place. My favorite
entree there is the lamb kabobs. I love how fresh everything tastes and the impeccable and friendly service. It's always a treat coming to this restaurant."

I love this restaurant. The
friendly waiters continually deliver a fabulous experience and the food is so delicious. This past visit, I found the dishes better than ever! Will definitely be back!"

When we were so full that we
couldn't finish everything we ordered, we boxed it up and ordered another entree to go!"

Delicious dinner and excellent
service. We will go to Arabian Knights again."
Dined on 9/8/2013
I was very pleased with dinner
there. The people are very nice, prices are ok, the place is very nice and great for any occasion: Check out their website, it gives a good description and shows what's on the menu. Great for both vegetarian people AND meat-eaters. I had my birthday there, we were a group of 10 people and everybody enjoyed the place a lot."

Nice restaurant for family and

As an American, I know little
about the various cuisine of the Middle East, so I can speak more about why I liked Arabian Nights and less about its authenticity. The service was excellent, the food was interesting and different from other places with similar themes, and the Lebanese wine was fun. As an establishment in SF, parking was the usual hastle, but everything else was perfect. Each person in our group of 8 was impressed with their food. The selection was impressive for a small place. With all of the choices of eateries in SF, this is still a place I would return for a meal."

The owner personally check on the
food and service. Very kind gentleman. Squab is a must"

We had an extremely surreal
experience at Arabian Nights and not in a good way. The hostess barely gave us the time of day when we arrived, acting like she barely had the energy to lead us to our table. The waitress was really friendly up until the very end when she literally dumped the check on our table without a word and returned it to us with the same applomb when returning it to us after payment. My girlfriend and I each got the vegetarian platter, which was really good. However, the baklava that we got for dessert was not good. It tasted watery and mushy; definitely sub par to Old Jerusalem and GFC (comparable middle eastern restaurants south of Arabian Nights on Mission Street). Aesthetically very pleasing; however it's way too loud."
Dined on 8/4/2013
Arabian Nights is an uncrowded,
quiet restaurant surrounded by noisy, packed trendy restaurants in the Mission. Here you won't have to wait for a table, and you'll be able to have a conversation. The service is attentive and highly professional. And best of all, the food is delectable! We dined here with an Israeli friend who knows Middle Eastern food, and even he was impressed. If you want a trendy place with lots of hipsters and a full bar, this is not for you. But if you want delicious, fresh food and a calmer ambiance, check it out! I just wish there were more restaurants like Arabian Nights."
Dined on 7/28/2013
This was an outstanding
experience. The service was exceptional and their food outstanding. We tried a lot of dishes since there were 7 of us and each one was fabulous and very tasty. Will come back soon!"
Dined on 7/21/2013
The food here is mediocre --
nothing special and not terribly authentic. The wait staff is green, unpolished, but at least pleasant. Considering this place is also in a lousy neighborhood, there's just really no reason to waste your time."
