Aquitaine - ChicagoOur wait person was overworkedOur wait person was overworked but never showed it. She was warm, friendly, and energetic. The food was very good. We had a great Mother's Day.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat value, devoted chef, deliceWe have been enjoying this place since it opened, were disappointed when it closed for lunch a while ago. Happy to find it open for brunch on Mother's Day. Had great smoked salmon appetizer, fantastic roast beef for the middle and a chocolate thing for dessert. And wonderful coffee for only $2. Starbucks, put that in your cup...5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful hidden gemWe looked on-line, booked and were so pleasantly surpirsed at this lovely little restaurant. The food was very good. The chicken and kale soup outstanding. The wine recommendation for both red and white was spot on. The seafood dishes were scrumptious! I have already recommended the restaurant to friends.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA real LIncoln Park gemThe food was outstanding: I had fish papillote and my wife had salmon: we shared a beet salad. The cocktail was delightful, a refreshing gin and freshly squeezed grapefruit base. There's a great selection of french wines by the glass. The service was wonderful, and the ambience was intimate and elegant. This is a great, tasty, relaxing dinner in Lincoln Park, where there aren't many restaurants that fulfill all the criteria.
It was quiet on a Monday night. The manager told us that Fridays, Saturdays, and Apollo nights are busy. It's a small place, and Sherry said that she wished people would make reservations on busier nights so that they could bring in wait staff to accommodate unexpected business.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMoutstandingI almost hate to recommend this place in case it becomes too popular & I start having difficulty getting in.
The food was fixed to perfection, the service courteous and helpful, and the prices extremely moderate (Brunch).
Highly recommend it.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and they got usGreat food and they got us out quickly so we could make a show...5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMElegantly casual and calmFriendly, charming place with yummy, interesting food . My roast poussin was excellent. Desserts by Vanille. Outstanding wine selection by glass and bottle. Wonderful martinis. Very quiet. Good spot for a business conversation.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful place to go beforeA wonderful place to go before attending a Remy Bumppo production. Our server was friendly and very attentive and our food well prepared. We enjoyed the restaurant very much and will be back.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat appetizers, drinksI took a chance on Aquitaine for a birthday dinner and I am glad I did. None of the foodies I know had heard of it, but the menu looked really good and it was. The duck confit mac and cheese was out of this world! The wine list was good, probably not suitable for a really discerning critic (no crazy vintages or anything), but we loved our choice, and it was at a fantastic price. The cocktails were stunning: this place would be my pick for drinks and shared small plates. Only complaint is that it's a bit drafty, but during the warmer months I'm sure that will add to the atmosphere4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really liked the nice romanticWe really liked the nice romantic feel this restaurant has. The food was delicious & the atmosphere was great!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable and Easy-goingGreat service with a good atmosphere, Aquitaine lived up to expectations. The food was delicious but not spectacular and the restaurant seemed to have a lot of local parties that had long dinners, however after 10pm my party was the last one in the restaurant (so moderate noise up to 9:30pm and then quiet after). I would go back at least for the setting and to try some of their sweet potato gnocchi.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMIts a small, maybe 15 tableIts a small, maybe 15 table restaurant. Very cozy and romantic, great food and the service was amazing very friendly. The wine list was also very good. Def coming back!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Lincoln Park FrenchAquitaine is a find! Easy location, very helpful and gracious service, and delicious food!! Can't go wrong if you like French based fresh cooking.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food & servicedExcellent food & serviced priced very reasonably. A great find!!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat neighborhood spotWe have walked by this place many times without noticing it. Our decision to dine there was made on an impulse and need to eat on short notice. We had a well prepared, unpretensious, but sophisticated, meal with excellent service. The decor and mood were commensurate with the moderate prices. Highly receommended for a low keyed evening with your spouse or significant other.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery pretty interior, greatVery pretty interior, great food and a good wine selection. We were there for an early 5pm dinner and were the only ones there...so it was fun to have our own personal waiter. She was very knowledgeable about the food & wine. Will definitely go back!1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
