Diner Reviews
  • "We were at the aquarium to watch our daughter complete her scuba dive for her certification. We were excited that the restaurant was part of the Landry's restaurant family. Landry's needs to disassociate themselves with this location. Clam chowder absolutely no taste even after adding salt and pepper, you could only taste the crackers. Chicken salad, again, absolutely tasteless, I never ever add salt to my meal and found myself reaching for the shaker. After being seated we waited at least 10 minutes before our server came to our table and took our drink orders. I can't imagine anyone eats here a second time."

  • "Went there with our kids and had a great time! Wonderful food, fun atmosphere, and attentive service. The only thing I wish they offered was tickets to the aquarium purchased from the restaurant while you eat. As it stands, you have to go back outside and stand in line for aquarium tickets if you want to go through after you eat. Just a suggestion."

  • "Fun place to take out of twin guests that have young kids. Food was good. I used Open Table to make dinner reservations and requested to sit close to the mermaids. We got there early and out table was ready and right up against the tank. The kids loved it."

  • "We were in town from Utah and on a whim found out about the restaurant while searching for the times of the aquarium itself. I made reservations and when we finished our trek through the aquarium an hour ahead of schedule, the hostesses were pleasant and very accommodating with changing it for us. The highlight for us was the mermaid show while dining. Our 2 year old and twin 6 year olds were mesmerized and couldn't get enough. The food was very good and the service was great. We were offered a photo op as well, but declined. I would recommend this experience."

  • "Everyone was very nice but I should have realized that since Colorado is not near the ocean, they would not know how to cook seafood. The spices overpowered the taste of the seafood."

  • "Our waiter Cole took time to describe the fish in the aquarium near our table. The food was very good for kids and adults alike. Our granddaughter left her shark mug and they shipped it to us (we live out of town). Great experience."

  • "We were seated at 5:45 and didn't receive our entrees until after 6:45. The server was very flustered and said another server went home so she was busy. When we ordered we told her our son had a dairy allergy. She said she was going to have the chef come speak with us- never saw them. When we finally got our entrees she brought everyone except the baby's b/c she said the manager would bring it due to his allergy. The poor kid was starving and lost it when everyone had food except him. The manager tried to compensate by offering dessert- after being there for 2+ hours we just wanted to leave. She next offered passes for the aquarium, we passed being from out of state. Such a shame since it seems like a really cool concept of a restaurant."

  • "We went to this restaurant specifically to watch the mermaids. We were not disappointed - the mermaid show was awesome!! What surprised us the most was the excellent service and delicious food. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Denver."

  • "This is a fun place to visit. Excellent atsmosphere inside the aquarium. Service was excellent. Food was good but not great. Very expensive."

  • "My family of 7 (with 3 kids aged 3 and younger) had a wonderful experience. The food was way better than we had anticipated. My only complaint was that I was expecting a longer, more dramatic performance by the mermaids. It was fun to see a mermaid swimming in the water, but the description suggested there would be an environmental lesson or story. But that's nit-picking. The service and food were great for our demanding crew!"

  • "This restaurant has terrible food, very few GF options because everything is fried. The "mermaid show" consisted of about 5 minutes of two mermaids while they blasted a song from "The Little Mermaid" over the speaker. So unimaginative, as I find the entire museum to be. They do the bare minimum and charge an arm and a leg for every little "extra". The only positive thing I have to say is that I could get my parking ticket validated so that I didn't have to pay the outrageous $7 fee because we went after 6 p.m."

  • "We took my Dad to the Aquarium for his 90th birthday. A easy day of walking through the Aquarium with all the family. Then lunch at the restaurant. I had asked for seating by the fish tank and was very happy with the table situated down the steps right by the aquarium. With only us and one other party down there it was very quiet and so easy to have conversations and with a party of 10 that is sometimes difficult in restaurants. The waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had a most wonderful time. Thank you."

  • "Been there twice in the last month for lunch. Both times I was treating someone to a birthday lunch. First time was excellent, second time we did not have a very good waiter. But I still loved the food and the surroundings. I definately plan on returning!"

  • "Beautiful Restaurant, but kids are too noisy and allowed to run around. The service was extremely slow and our server didn't check on us often enough. Food was just so so for the price. We told them we were celebrating a birthday on our reservation and in person, but nothing special happened."

  • "A great place for lunch or dinner! The kids especially enjoy being able to look at the fish while waiting for food to arrive."

  • "The waitress forgot to put our order in. Once it was in it still took forever to get. The food is way overpriced for what you get."

  • "This was my first time to the Aquarium and I was very pleased. Our waiter was were informed on how the food would be prepared. The aquarium was amazing and if that was not enough, there was a live mermaid show while we ate. What a surprise. The mermaids interacted with the children from inside the tanks. The food was very high quality I had steak and shrimp that was just divine. This is a Must Go for anyone heading to Denver."

  • "We visited the aquarium then had dinner at the restaurant with our 3 rambunctious girls (9yo, 3yo, 2yo). There was an entire wall of aquarium with large fish, a large eel. At the end of dinner we even saw a mermaid show! Our waitress was fast, helpful & efficient. We all enjoyed our appetizer, dinners & desserts. We even tried a few specialty drinks kids and adult versions. Overall, a perfect evening on vacation for our family."

  • "Food was good, service was great & the mermaid show was the highlight of the day for our grandkids. Our table was right next to the aquarium so we had a close up view of all the fish swimming right past our table. They loved it! Our server was excellent, even telling the kids that if they had questions about the fish to be sure to ask him, which they did! He was happy to answer & seemed to know a LOT about fish. I really didn't expect the kids to eat much, being so excited & with the fish to watch, but they loved their lunch & didn't want to leave. We had kid's fish sticks, kid's mac & cheese plus chicken parm, 2 orders of fish & chips & the veggie burger. Next time I would skip the appetizer so I could order dessert. They looked great!"

  • "We went here on a weeknight that was promoted as being family friendly with free validated parking and mermaid shows running every 1/2 hour from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. We were given a table right in front of the aquarium so that my kids could have a great view of the mermaids. The kids loved it. The only drawback to our seats was when people would send their kids up to our table area so they could see the show better. This was o.k. at first but started to become annoying when they crowded our baby in her high chair. The food was o.k. but nothing spectacular, it was more about the atmosphere. They did have a decent kids menu. We went to the aquarium (at a discounted price because we were dinner guests) afterwards and the kids had a ball."

  • "Everyone in our group of 9 enjoyed the food, service, and fish tanks. The chef came out to speak with me about the preparation of my dish because I mentioned I have a shellfish allergy. The restaurant even held our doggie bags while we went into the aquarium"

  • "We have eaten at the Denver Aquarium many times and it's always fun. This time it wasn't crowded but we made a reservation anyway. It's great they take reservations and I recommend it if you don't want to wait a long time which can happen during busy times. (School breaks) The service was great and the salad I had was good. Kid liked the Chicken Parmesan and pasta. Best part is floor to ceiling fish tank views. Lots to watch. Especially liked the HUGE Grouper fish who watched us eat."

  • "Food is excellent, I have been there a hand full of times and the food is always good. Service is great. Even when busy the waitresses are very proactive and courteous. The water tank displaying so many species right while you are eating does add an amazing touch to your dinnig experience and will keep everybody and specially your children mesmerized through the experience. And if you happen to catch the mermaids show while in there that will make your visit even more magical again specially for the kids but as a big kid you will like it also. And that is just part of the ambience as none of that comes with a price you only pay for the great food... can't beat it."

  • "The food was good after we got it. They had some computer issues per the waiter who disappeared often for very obvious smoke breaks. Not our first time here and wont be our last. Good place for our young kids."

  • "We enjoyed the aquarium so much I had made reservations and it still seemed we had to wait a very long time before being seated.... The food was really good.. I did not like the fact that while sitting there trying to eat other people's children kept bumping my family's chairs to see the aquarium there were kids running up and down chasing the fish. At one point my three year old was bumped to the point of falling out of her chair."

  • "Really had a great lunch. The ambience is awesome. Lot's of fun and the food was really good. We also had a great server. She was very knowledgeable not only about the menu but of all the species in the tank. The prices were good. This is a great place to take the family. Not very quiet and filled with lots of kids, so probably not a great place to have a romantic dinner."

  • "Eugene our waiter was nice! But, then it went down hill from there. We had a table of 5 celebrating a 72 b-day. Wrong drink served. everyone's food came out correct but mine. Ordered the broiled fisherman's plate and got the fried plate. Mom ordered Rib Eye and lobster tail. Steak was fatty and hard to cut. Lobster tail was 2 bites. We told our waiter & Mgr. In the meantime, I waited 15 minutes when my meal came out. It was great, but I didn't eat same time with friends. Mom got another lobster tail which was excellent. Mgr came out and apologized and offered one free dessert for compensation. Not enough--not for all that has happened. She took off 10%, but by then, all we wanted to do was leave."

  • "I would not eat here for a meal again. There was only one gluten free item on their menu. Only one! And it had multiple seafood items that I did not like. They said they could do a gluten free meal. But to them that means plain and unseasoned. The salmon was very good. However, they served it with plain white rice and green beans. No seasonings whatsoever! For the food received, it was greatly overpriced. They did, however, have a gluten free dessert. It was a flourless chocolate cake. Surprised that they could make that, but had no idea how to prepare the main meal."

  • "I have 29 grandchildren, so it will take me awhile, but I hope to take most of them to lunch at the aquarium. This trip I had a 3 year old, a 7 year old and a 15 year old, who all had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, although the view of the fish was more of a hit than the food for them. Lunch was delicious - exceeded expectations."
