Diner Reviews
  • "My family had planned an outing in Denver and the skies weren't cooperating so we had to find something we could enjoy indoors. We decided to go to the Aquarium and were so glad that we did! We had our two youngest kids and my daughter invited her best friend, who is visually impaired. I used OpenTable to reserve the table and in the note section I asked that we be seated as near the Mermaid Show as possible so that our guest could actually see them. We were placed right up front and she was able to see the fish and enjoy herself. The entire exhibit was fabulous. And a pleasant surprise for these first-timers was the Meet the Mermaids option! We stayed late so that the girls could meet them and they were in awe!"

  • "We were visiting from out of state and made this the last dinner of our vacation. Kids loved watching the fish - and the mermaid show! Dinner portions were HUGE. Great way to end our vacation."

  • "Food was good but very pricey. I was expecting more than the actual experience we received. Mermaids were not as great as expected."

  • "My friends and I came to Colorado from Chicago for my best friends birthday. This had to be one if the best experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and outgoing, the food was fantastic and just the overall atmosphere was so much fun. I loved the mermaids show too! If I ever come back to Colorado, I will definitely be back to enjoy another dining experience here."

  • "This is a fun place if you enjoy the underwater world. But it is not a place to return to on a regular basis. The service is ok and the food is fair - it takes about 45 minutes to get any sort of snack at the bar. The drinks come fast and the restaurant itself is faster. Evening is the best time to come to the aquarium itself though - so a drink at the bar and a tour through the aquarium would be a nice time with dinner elsewhere."

  • "The fish entertain you while you eat and that is relaxing. The food looked appealing and tasted great. The only thing we found needed some care may be the kids menu. The pizza and dessert were not very good. Over all, we enjoy the once a year trip we make to the aquarium and lunch experience. Thank you for the wonderful place to escape the real world of our area in Colorado."

  • "The restaurant is good for what it is. The hostes was short and unfriendly, and would not allow us to change tables. We were sat right at the entrance of the restaurant. Our server was slow and intrusive. I had to move out of her way for everything, not your normal moving, she needed my whole space to place our order. We ordered an appetizer that was cold when it got to the table, that was immediately followed by our meal. We didn't even get a chance to eat our cold app. The show was good, the area was great, the staff needs work on customer service and friendliness."

  • "My husband and I went to celebrate my birthday and neither of us had been to the restaurant. We were seated promptly and the environment was great and so was the food. I did feel it was a bit overpriced. The only real problem we had was that our server did not come over immediately after we were sat. We sat there for a good five to seven minutes before being greeted. Other than that our server did a good job."

  • "The service was very slow and the food was over priced. The prices associated with the meal on the menu should have included the soup or dinner salad. As far as service, the meal took 1 1/2 hours and that wa only because we had to be assertive to ask the server to please bring our check, as we really wanted to see the aquarium exibit. We had informed the server twice that we needed to accelerate the dining experiance, as it took an hour for just soup and 1 appetizer. The food was delicious, but the restraunt could add value to the consumer with the minimal cost of soup or salad with an entree meal and this would make the experiance more appealing. Thank you"

  • "I made a reservation and was glad I did. The table they gave us was right next to the aquarium. And since I told them my granddaughters were young, I got next to the smaller fish. SO thoughtful. It was beautiful. the server was knowledgeable and attentive. It was a great experience."

  • "We had a lovely morning at the Aquarium followed by a very enjoyable lunch. We finished with the tour earlier than planned and were able to get right in to the restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and told us about the fish in the restaurants aquarium."

  • "Although there was an hour and a half wait, we were still seated before our reservation time. Great food and service. Took awhile to get the food but worth rhe wait. All in all, a great experience. We'll have to try the water room next time."

  • "I took my boyfriend to the aquarium for a birthday lunch. We were seated quickly and our server took our order and brought us wonderful strawberry mojitos to enjoy. We finished our appetizer and bread and then the waiting game began. While the scenery was awesome, we sat for over an hour before our waiter came to tell us that the loud crash we heard was our food and they had to remake it. Management didn't offer us a discount or more drinks or anything else to make the time pass. We were on the verge of walking out when our food finally came out. I have to say that the food was amazing. I am glad we waited. Lucky for them the food was so good, I didn't mind paying for it without complaining about the 2 hours we sat there."

  • "We went here so we could see the mermaid show. I didn't realize you had to request to sit in front of the tanks. If you sit in the booths like we did, you cant see the show very well and people stand in front of you. TIP: Ask to sit near the mermaid tank. I had the seafood cannelloni. It was tasty but someone else from our party had the gumbo and it tasted like canned beef stew. It was extra salty. Don't order the gumbo. The kids meals were eaten up and my husband ordered a fish dish that he liked but it didn't look anything like the photo and it was very small servings compared to say Red Lobster. I think this place is good to see the mermaids if you have younger kids otherwise go eat at some other place in Denver."

  • "This is my first time to the Denver Aquarium and the restaurant. The food was great and I did not have to wait long. The waitress checked in often. The only negative I could mention is the glare that came in from the top Aquarium window. It was bad enough that I had to switch sides in the booth I was given which limited my view of the restaurant's aquarium where a "mermaid" performed under water."

  • "The restaurant itself is fun due to the giant aquarium. However, because of this there is also a very fishy smell which is almost overwhelming for those of us who do not like to eat seafood. And the food is way overpriced for what it is-not fantastic. But it's a fun vibe and a good place to go before viewing the aquarium with kids."

  • "service was very, very, slow. i know that it takes time to make food, but even getting our drinks took 10 mins. to get. being at the aquarium for a good part of the day, we were all very thirsty and hungry. even though we were full we decided to have desert, big mistake, that took over 15 mins. it took us over an hour and a half to have lunch! i could see that for dinner, but not lunch. the food was good, and the server was nice, but it took way tooo long. being a member of the aquarium we gave our waitress my card so i could receive our 10% off, when the check came it was not taken off, she took it back to correct it then brought it back unfixed. after the 2nd time it was correct. not sure at this point if we will be coming back for lunch"

  • "The food was good. The 45 minutes waiting for lunch to be served after ordering wasn't. Our server only said 'the kitchen is backed up'."

  • "The food was great, our waitress was pleasant and taught us a lot about the fish in the aquarium and the mermaid show was magical!!!! Everyone should have a meal at the Denver Aquarium Restaurant!!!"

  • "Fair place there was water on chair place settings missing and not supplied until asked to. Meal took entirely to long 45 to an hour I still dropped $18 tip but don't think I will do it again"

  • "We had great, attentive service! The grilled chicken sandwich was average but the atmosphere was great for kids. My daughter especially loved seeing the mermaids while eating."

  • "The staff was amazing with four young children. We arrived early for our reservation and got great seats in the water room. The kids didn't realize they were waiting because they were busy watching the fish and divers. The food was great with large portions. The staff was very patient with the young children and made the visit enjoyable."

  • "Not a good value for the price. Food nothing worth bragging about."

  • "Service was good. Manager really attempted to help us. One child in party is allergic to eggs, and is vegetarian. Not much he could eat to get a complete meal. Fish was so-so. Ham sandwich was very greasy. Seating was excellent with great view of aquarium."

  • "Who can beat mermaids for ambiance? But for such a kid-friendly place, service was v.e.r.y. slow."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "We took our kids and they loved it. We were seated right next to the aquarium which was the highlight of the night as the kids counted the stingrays as they swam by. Our service was also great...Cole was very good with the kids! The food was okay at best. I ordered the broiled platter which sounded like a healthier option than deep fried, but everything was so coated in butter/oil and salt that I'm not sure it was any healhier. The overall experience was great, but don't go just for the food."

  • "Very pleased with our lunch at the aquarium following a morning at the Children's Museum. Our waiter was most efficient and responsive, food was good, mermaid show, scuba divers, and the fish and rays kept our 2-year-old granddaughter mesmerized. Got the table next to the fish tank we requested on Open Table and only had a 10 min. wait for our noon reservation. Would definitely recommend!"

  • "We had never been to this restaurant before and we weren't sure what to expect. We had a fantastic time. The food was great but the plates were huge so less it more, but the decor was amazing and the aquarium itself was very enjoyable."

  • "The seafood was excellent. Don't order a special coffee drink with dessert. They have a very expensive looking espresso machine @ bar however when I ordered a cappuccino what was delivered looked & tasted like a luke warm double shot of espresso. When I brought this to the attention of our server he said he didn't drink cappuccino & neither did the bartender."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "Our appetizers came to the table about 2 minutes before our food. All of the sides were luke warm at best. We spent $135 on dinner plus $60 to get in to the aquirium. Our money would have been better spent at macdonalds. An absolute rip-off. Oh! We also had to ask for our salads after the food arrived."

  • "Outstanding service and atmosphere. Food was above average. A great place to take the kids. They validate parking after 6pm saving you $7."

  • "The kids loved this place. They are 8,10&11. The food was great with a wonderful wait staff. Food was better than I had imagined. I would definitely recommend to anyone with children. Taking the tour of the aquarium after made our night!"

  • "Lunch was a disaster. First, in spite of the 'premium seating' that comes with our admiral membership and the fact that we had reservations, we still were told that the good seats were reserved for special members. The crab & shrimp dip was tasty but they gave you very little to dip in it, then came to take it away more than half full - we insisted and were brought a basket of bread to finish it with. Then our food came although not what we ordered. We had to send back my daughter's and the rest had been overcooked. Her meal didn't come until after the rest of us were done and she didn't want it. They didn't take it off the bill or offer us anything else - they also didn't take off the 10% for our membership. We wont be going back."

  • "Overall, good service and very family friendly. Our server was very kind and respectful. He would also joke around with our son and follow his lead on all the silly and funny things kids do."

  • "I was with a party of five to celebrate an adult birthday; when we arrived we were shocked by the view of the restaurant, it was beautiful and memorable just like it should be dining under the sea! Our server was a sweetheart along with the hostess. However, the night took a turn for the worse when our appetizers arrived. The mozerella sticks were cold immediately when taking a bite, and the calamari was barely fried. One of us ordered a $7 side ceasar salad which was HUGE; however, tasted absolutely terrible. Everyone couldn't describe the horrendous dressing that tasted anything but ceasar. Another one of us got fish and chips, the fish was soggy and far from crunchy. I got Alfredo with shrimp for $19, I took one bite before I was done."

  • "This is definitely a family with children restaurant. Kids were running amok. The food is not as quality or fresh as we expected for a Landry's restaurant. It was so cold in the restaurant that our food was cold before we were even halfway through our plates. We won't eat there again."
