  • "After reading reviews I was excited to go! The view of historic Savannah across the river was beautiful but the food here was horrible! Had a salad and the scallop entree.......salad wasn't anything special and the scallops were extremely over cooked! Didn't even finish my meal because it wasn't enjoyable."

  • "I love to eat here because every food has such an excellent taste. The vast array is like a treasure chest of flavor, textures and surprises. I was married to a chef so I learned to appreciate the knowledge and passion it takes to put on this kind of meal. I love that there is no hurry so I have time to pick and choose and actually savor the tastes that are available. While I appreciate some types of jazz, I noticed that the band played a lot of fast paced music. This made the whole 'take your time thing' kind of conflicting. I know in stores they play music fast to get you to shop and leave or slow to browse and shop. A slower pace of music would make the experience more relaxing in my opinion."

  • "Fair food - about what you would expect for a resort. The wait staff was competent and friendly but the overall service level was terrible due to slow preparation and likely understaffing. It took 2 1/2 hours to get an appetizer and the entree. It's a problem with all the food service at this property. The following day it took 1 1/4 hours to get a hamburger and we mentioned that we were in a hurry when we ordered. The wait staff was very appologetic and is obviously frustrated by the system. Nice hotel, but take the ferry over to Savannah to eat."

  • "When we were seated we were told that they were only offering their "limited menu ". Some mumbled explanation re deliveries or quiet night in the hotel. Our food choices are restricted (vegetarian and non-shellfish). So we ordered a drink and a Caesar salad and left. The waiter should have offered to find something for us-there's a casual restaurant in the hotel which we went to after our "dinner" and had a good sandwich, good waiter. Aqua missed an orotundity to shine."

  • "The servers were attentive and promptly took care of refilling water glasses, bringing more bread, and providing salad dressing. The problem was a significant pregnant pause between salad and the main course. My wife is diabetic and must time her insulin within 30 minutes of eating. It was very difficult to do with the pace of service."

  • "Enjoyed the overall experience especially the special performance offered this particular evening."

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at the Aqua Star...memorable music from Jeremy Davis and his orchestra. Super fun night! The food was very good as well, although our server's ability to obtain drinks from the bar was slightly impaired. She seemed spread out between tables, making it complicated for her. Great location, beautiful view of Savannah and the sunset, and a beautiful restaurant all combined for a lovely evening. We will be doing this again!"

  • "We spent St. Patty's Day in Savannah & did Sunday Jazz Brunch @ the Aqua Star. It was incredible! The food, service, ambience & music were five star. If you are in Savannah, this is a must do!"

  • "I booked this restaurant for our 1 year anniversary. We were able to get a table by the window. The place was very pretty and low lighting was great for the occasion. The food was very good. We each got the filet and was cooked perfectly. The only thing that was not up to par was the service. Everyone was very nice and accommodating but the attention during service was not quite there. It could have been much better for this upscale restaurant. Other than that we had a wonderful time."

  • "Took my wife, her sister, and brother-in-law to the Aqua Star to hear the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra and enjoy a great meal. The food is great! The service was as great as the best I've seen. Every single Aqua Star staff member was happy and looking to please. Jeremy Davis and the Fabulous Equinox Orchestra are amazing every time we see/hear them! Add fine dining and excellent service and you have an evening that you will never forget. I highly recommend Aqua Star."

  • "This may well be the best restaurant in Savannah. It is never crowded because it requires an extra 4.3 minutes to get to and one needs to take an escalator to the second floor for another 2.3 minutes. The menu is outstanding, the service invariably excellent, and one can hold and hear a conversation. Lastly, while bordering on expensive, there is a loyalty card with a 15% discount which brings it into line with other fine eateries in town."

  • "Food was great but the Champaign was not good at all for the price of the event. Wine and drinks should have been included even if the costs were increased."

  • "As always the view of the Savannah River is breathtaking. Our waiter was great - kept the glasses filled and gave us time to enjoy our food. The appetizers were gerat. We all enjoyed tasting each others. I have eaten at the Aqua Star several times and have always thoroughly enjoyed the Seafood Pot Pie. The sauce was this wonderful creamy lobster bandy sauce that made the seafood the star of the dish. Well it's been changed to a reddish/brown sauce that tasted like day old gravy and hid the seafood. I was very disappointed."

  • "Dinner at the Aqua Star on Dec. 13 was disappointing. We have had dinner there in the past & were pleased but find that the atmosphere has changed. The lights were too bright & the chairs being low for the tables were somewhat uncomfortable. The service was adequate but not as attentive as in the past. The food was good but the menu was limited. The tables were moved around for a large party that evening which may have contributed to the problem. Their brunches are good but cancelled a future dinner reservation."

  • "We enjoyed both Holiday Dinners (Buffets) at the Weston this year. The seating and service was excellent and the selection of food was fantastic-everything was prepared and presented perfectly. We were too far from our families to join them for the Holidays so the Weston was a great choice for us!"

  • "Christmas dinner at the Westin in Savannah was supposed to have been a highlight of our holiday. Instead it was very ordinary. Nothing actually wrong with meal and the service was excellent, but given the reputations of both the Westin chain and the chef and the price tag, it was very ordinary. The much lauded view of Savannah is also quite poor from the tables."

  • "This is one of the best places in Savannah that I know of to impress a significant other. The variety of foods is out of this world. And the quality of the food is great. You can tell that a lot of work goes into the preparation of the foods. I'd recommend your restaurant to anyone I know."

  • "The buffet is superb. There's a tremendous variety of dishes: ham, turkey & beef Wellington for those who want dinner. Lots of hot vegetables-vegetarians-welcome! We enjoy the smoked seafood and fresh shrimp and oysters. For the unadventurous, the "exotic" table - sliced duck, goose pate, etc. is labeled so you don't get anything you might not like. Desserts are small portions and fabulous. Tables are far enough apart to not hear others conversations. The piano and bass player add to the ambiance - not overpowering. The best part is the staff: PLENTY everywhere and everyone has a genuine smile even though holidays! We've never feel rushed. Always time for extra coffee or mimosa. An added pleasure is the river view."

  • "Great ambience, very good food, great service, super holiday atmosphere with ambience and tasteful seasonal music. Great next door gingerbread village competition that my mother loved! Will come again next year.. Long walk to parking lot."

  • "Close to a 50% price increase with a high fixed grauity - it's a self service brunch. Food was average missing items that used to be on the table, e.g. lamp chops. You had to plead for a normal portion of the entrees such as turkey, ham and beef. The brunch pantry was well stocked and the assortment was large the quality was average the oysters were so so, the cold cuts were mediocre and the cheeses bland - "less would have been more". The service staff were very friendly. Demoted to a location off the main dining area for parties larger than six - and a very long way from the food area - with little ambience save for the tables close enough for a river view - moves you away from the live music and the very enjoyable main dining room."

  • "It was fabulous, and certainly one of the highlights of our Christmas Day. Our children loved it, as well, and there was plenty of variety of food presentations to please them. We have celebrated Christmas and Thanksgiving at the Aqua Star on several occasions and have never been disappointed. Our hearts were saddened by the absence of Mr Ben Tucker, but we have our memories of his special talents on past occasions. Thank you for paying such close attention to detail. We look forward to future visits."

  • "We have been enjoying Christmas Brunch/Buffet at the Aqua Star for a number of years with family and friends. The food, etc. is outstanding. The entire Hotel is festive with the Annual Gingerbread Houses, the lovely Christmas Trees. Sadly this year we missed the music of Ben Tucker, but he now plays the Heavenly Music. The jazz music was relaxing and lovely, even on the sad note of Ben Tucker's not being there. We appreciate the staff being present on such a special holiday...Thank You."

  • "Although I've been here for the Christmas brunch before, for some reason it was better than ever this year. The food, music and general ambiance were delightful. My date and I ended up sitting next to folks we knew and it was a lovely food fest and gabfest. Thank you Westin!"

  • "Tried to cancel through OpenTable but was refused because it was too close to the reservation time. In messages I left on the restaurant's vm, I asked that my credit card not be charged. To date, I have heard nothing back. This is poor customer service to say the least."

  • "For those of us who love a wide range of foods at one meal will think this is NIRVANA!! AQUA STAR'S buffet on Sunday and most major holidays is a perfect blend of traditional breakfast/lunch fare with an an explosion of seafood, pasta bar, sushi, smoked meats, fresh veggies, and the best bacon in Savannah!! The dessert bar with bananas foster or cherries jubilee over a fresh made Belgian waffle and scoop of real vanilla ice cream completes the experience. CHEF ROGER MICHEL ROCKS"

  • "Christmas Day was topped off with superb dining at Aqua Star !!"

  • "I was quite disappointed by the Christmas dinner at Aqua Star. We had eaten at Aqua Star on Chistmas Eve and had the grilled salmon which was uniformly delicious. The Christmas dinner came with one choice only for soup and appetizer and only two choices for the entre and dessert. The soup was overly salty. The salad was fine. Neither entree was very good. The beef wellington had very little flavor and was soggy. The turkey was decently flavorful, but the dressing that accompanied it was odd tasting. My dining companion didn't even finish her turkey dinner, and the desserts were only OK. For a special dinner it was a let down. I won't be going back."

  • "Our waitress was very pleasant! The service was very slow! The plates were Hot-- the food was not! It is sad that such a lovely view and ambience are detracted from by the long wait for cool food. Also, the chair to table height was most uncomfortable. We like to come across for the Monthly Jazz but we'll stay on the other side for dinner. Also, there seemed to be a misunderstanding with the kitchen. We specifically stated that we wanted to share one dinner. The food was fine but the check was confusing."
