  • "The ambiance and decor are amazing. And our server Jesus was a gem. I enjoyed the brunch buffet, though I wish there had been pancakes or waffles. That being said, there were very very few options for the two vegan members of our party. The meal that was specially prepared for them--their only option--was so-so and pretty pricey. There should be more vegetarian/vegan options as part of the brunch buffet spread."

  • "The Marriott has done a great job updating this restaurant/bar space. The menu is full of tempting options and we enjoyed our meal. In early April they still seem to be ironing out some kinks but it is worth a visit. The pork shank was delightful, big enough to share. We also liked the roasted beet salad. Congratulations on a great facelift."

The service was great, the food was great... but I had trouble shaking the image of people eating continental breakfasts in the same space earlier in the day.   • "Not a great experience, but not a terrible one either. Went for brunch and had a nice time - food was great, but some of the fruit was past its prime. Buffet selection was impressive. Hostess cancelled our reservation instead of marking it seated, creating a situation where I needed to ensure my OpenTable account was credited points properly, but all was fixed promptly by the OpenTable staff. Experience was nice, but it's not a "must see" restaurant."

  • "As we walked into Grille 700 we noticed that it was quite empty. We did not take that as a bad sign and decided to sit down. The waiter was very friendly, however, after waiting 30minutes for our appetizer to arrive we became frustrated. When the appetizers did arrive (it was restaurant week) the soup has a thick film overtop as if it has been sitting for a while. Once I found the manager to discuss our lack of service it then took him another five minutes to go "see what was the deal." By the time he came back we packed up our bags and left enough money for our drinks. We will NEVER go back."

  • "We went to Grill 700 for pre-concert dinner during the Baltimore Restaurant Week. Pre-fix menue selections were very decent. food was very good, and service was quick and personable. As we went before concert, I had to leave my doggy bag at the restaurant (could bear to part with the huge and very good crabcake) and then retrieve it around 11 pm. My box was lables, refrigerated and waiting for me when I cam back and staff was very nice and accomodating. My only complain is parking costs: it is $8 for the restaurant patrons but the time limit is only 3 hours... We were 1 hour over the limit and were charged full night price, $24... Kind of steep price, even for downtown parking..."

  • "You never know what to expect with a Hotel Restaurant. Grill 700 was seriously excellent. The food was delicious. I ordered the filet. It was grilled perfectly and extremely tender. My friend ordered Crab Cakes. They were two baseball sized all lump cakes and they were delicious! Loved the corn and crab chowder. Our waiter was prompt and friendly. The chef brought our dinners to us. The maitre'd came over to check on us and was very gracious. I can't say enought about it. AND we live in Baltimore and weren't staying at the hotel, we just chose to dine there and are so happy we did!"

My problem on this particular evening was the lack of attention to detail in properly recording my open table reservation. It was recorded as a "no show" and of course I had to do the extra work to assure it was properly recorded as "honored". Other than this issue, I would probably dine here again if I could not secure a reservation elsewhere on a Saturday night, as was the case with this particular reservation."

  • "I booked reservations through open table at 11am for Grille 700 on Easter Sunday. There was a mistake with the online reservations because Grille 700 only served the Easter Buffet at 12:30 and 3:30pm. We never received a call or email explaining the mistake. We arrived at 11am for our reservations and at that time we were informed of the mistake and had to wait an hour and a half for the buffet. It was very inconvenient especially on a holiday. Also, there were no diaper changing tables in the restrooms so I was given a room key to a room on the 17th so I could change my son's diaper."

Even though they were booked, he made room for us at the 12:30 seating. It was great customer service - something you don't see much of these days."
