ApollineEverything we ate was deliciousI had been for dinner before, but this was my first time going for brunch. The shrimp and grits appetizer was awesome and the eggs apolline was perfect. The service could be improved.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacularWe have enjoyed the exceptionally creative cocktails at Apolline's bar a couple of times, noshed on highly enjoyable, impressive appetizers. Decided to try the dining room; went with Mother's Day Brunch with the kids. Exceptional experience. Menu was diverse and creative but abundantly approachable by picky middle schoolers. Service and management friendly and attentive. Definitely clicked FAVORITE on Apolline!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat but noisyvery good food excellent limited menu. quite noisy. overall- would go there again easily.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMI am from out of town butI am from out of town but I have been in NOLA three times and went to Apolline three times. Wonderful experience.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service, very personableGreat service, very personable waitress and staff. The food was great, I had the gulf fish (grouper) which was good and the other two in my party had the lamb osso bucco and the pork chop, both of which were awesome.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEmphasis on the wine and foodThis was our first time at Apolline's but it will not be our last. We liked that the menu was small so that the emphasis could be on quality rather than quantity of offerings. The wine list was extensive so that varied tastes could be satisfied. Further the specialty cocktails were fantastic. This is a great place for a special occasion or if you just want to enjoy a really different dining experience.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMUnderstated Gem, refreshing.Understated neighborhood restaurant shines on Magazine.
Serving typical dishes of New Orleans great restaurants- Duck Confit, Scallops, Osso Bucco, Ettoufee...
Classic, but not classic like Arnaud's, ie not oversauced and over salted.
Contemporary but not nouvelle cuisine, not eccentric or terribly inventive
but just true, pure and delicious with top ingredients.
Service was also simplistic and pure, very refreshing and attentive without pandering or being too present.
Cocktail menu is, however, inventive and creative.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Service and MenuThe food was delicious. Appetizers and Food were unique although I wish there were more seafood options. Scallops with bacon and gulf fish only leave one true pescetarian option. Gulf fish is good, but rather ordinary. Smoked crab tacos were superb. Cocktail list is amazing! And I appreciate the number of wines available by the glass and half bottle. Would come again.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMAppoline was recommended toAppoline was recommended to us by a New Orleans native, and we had a wonderful meal there. We started with the smoked crab tacos, followed by the scallops and each was a taste treat. We finished our meal with a well selected cheese board. Wednesday night is their weekly $20 wine special, and when the bottle we wanted was unavailable, the restaurant very generously substituted a more expensive, unlisted wine of the same varietal. Our server was courteous and helpful throughout. The owner, Keith Andrews, stopped by our table and impressed us with his warmth and devotion to customer service. An overall excellent experience!4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experienceClassic New Orleans cuisine with a modern twist. Great Atmosphere, lighting. I'd come back!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food...quiet atmosphereExcellent food...quiet atmosphere to have a chat. Were able to change the menu up a bit to accommodate our no cheese desire. Only a short cab ride from downtown NO...well worth the journey. As importantly, the young lady running the place provided a wealth of other suggestions for dining in NO! She was very knowledgeable. This place is a winner!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat addition to neighborhood! This a new gem for me.
I will be returning!
Thanks, Apolline.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent!Well. We arrived late for our reservation, however they were able to accommodate us. We then realized the reservation was for the next day! LOL. Food, ambiance and price were great. Service was excellent! Thanks!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThoroughly enjoyed this place.Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Slightly hesitant to tell everyone about it as it's nice to have a great secret hideaway on wino wednesdays.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to Apolline with ourWe went to Apolline with our friends for Sunday brunch. We have had brunch at Apolline before and chose it because of the pleasant ambience which allows conversation because the noise level is low. I enjoyed the vegetarian omelet with potato hash which was delicious. My husband also ordered his favorite the crispy chicken with French toast. The service was very attentive and gracious. Our friends were glad wetook them to Apolline4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I had dinnerMy boyfriend and I had dinner at Apolline last night and it was so awesome that I brought my brother back to Apolline for dinner tonight. The scallops and shrimp with corn maque choux was amazing- one of the best things I've ever eaten. The oysters are also a must! The staff was really friendly and we had great service. Will definitely be back soon.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time. Went for our FifthGreat time. Went for our Fifth Year Anniversary and the food was excellent and the staff was more than accommodating. Everything was well done and had an overwhelming time. Will be back for brunch and any other special occasion. Thanks and hats off to the Appoline Staff4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience overall.Great experience overall. Very good service, though a little slower after the entree than we liked. Appetizer was just okay, but entrees were delicious. Dessert was also good, but bread pudding would have been better with whisky sauce than caramel, as the latter was too sweet. Both cocktails I tried (Walnut Mahattan & Merriweather) were FABULOUS!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster brunch was truly enjoyable.Easter brunch was truly enjoyable. The food was very tasty and the bottomless mimosa was awesome. Ther service was attentive but not overbearing, just the way I like it. The only disappointment was no dessert was available and some in our party wanted a little something sweet.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMNew favorite restaurant inNew favorite restaurant in NOLA... We were seated right away and promptly greeted by our server. Then the magic started, our food was outstanding. Abita beer shrimp and grits, perfectly seared foie gras, beautifully cooked grouper, and the best maque choux and scallops ever!! Oh and don't forget the best bread pudding I've ever had I'm my life. Nice for an anniversary, the food is great for any occasion. Also, my husband is a native New Orleanian and says that the bread pudding was in his top 3!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMI had meet Chef Matt, hisI had meet Chef Matt, his wife and then manager Jenny at a fundraiser for Reds, Whites & the Blues in City Park and decided we needed to add his place to our monthly girls night out. We had a great time and will return. I have spread the word on how great it was. Thanks for a wonderful time.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPolite and contemporaryPolite atmosphere. A bright interior with contemporary features, light woods, mirrored dining room, small clothed tables. Elegant drinks with garden herbs made in house a standard.
A '25th' wedding anniversary dinner was met with satisfaction.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed our diningWe really enjoyed our dining experience. We loved the ambiance & decor of the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic. We already recommended to friends immediately after we left and they went there the next night. We will definitely be back!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMMixed ExperienceI really wanted to like this place as it is close to home. But the food was inconsistent. The vegetarian entree was uninspired, an eggplant Napoleon. The eggplant was undercooked and had no seasoning - neither pesto or a bread coating, needed something. The tomatoes were under ripe. The charbroiled oysters were also overcooked. The carpaccio was an excellent cut of meat but the sauce was so salty that it overpowered the dish and detracted from the perfect meat and greens. The shrimp and grits was delicious but not enough grits for the quantity of shrimp. Lamb bolognese was perfect. Great service and ambience3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMBest new restaurant! This is my new favorite restaurant. The variety is impressive. Apolline has restaurant August quality food at half the price. I wanted everything on the menu. This will be my new go-to restaurant from now on. It used to be Coquette, but their prices became way too high and I found that I was always leaving hungry. Apolline is fantastic and I can't wait to go back! The only con is that the tables are a little squeezed in. It is a small place and not a ton of room between tables, but still absolutely worth it. The chocolate dessert was unlike anything I've ever had, like thick chocolate velvet!3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMNew Orleans treasureWe had an great dinner at this lovely restaurant, full of locals with great aromas from the kitchen throughout the dinner. We will definitely return on our next trip to New Orleans.11/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
