"We used to enjoy Apt. 138 as a casual neighborhood walk-in restaurant. About a year ago they got a new chef and upgraded the menu and we had two excellent meals despite the fact that you now need reservations. This week our meal was very disappointing. A ribs entree was really a pork chop smothered in onions and tomatoes and it is so dark you couldn't check the color of the pork. A burger was bland and a hake entree was good. With all the competition on Smith St., good is not enough, especially if you need reservations."

"Re-vamped menu is void of anything with flavor. All three of us who were dining were so sorely disappointed in not just our choices but the food we actually got. Service left much to be desired, with our entrees essentially slammed down on the table by disgruntled staff. Desserts were okay, the one saving grace."

"As long as you don't mind the incredibly long wait for the food, you are good. The food was delicious, the waiter was very nice, but the food took about 45 minutes to reach us (and we only got caesar salads and soup). The desserts were great too, but also took longer than you would think to get to us. If the place was packed, I could understand, but it was maybe about 25% full. Overall, good, it would have been better if there wasn't such a long wait for food."
