  • "Went with a small group of women for a friend's 50th birthday. We had a great time! Food was delicious, service was top-notch, both in their attentiveness and also with recommendations and explanations. Will definitely go back."

  • "What an outstanding restaurant! Great selection of Thai and Japanese foods. I have been there over 20 times and the food has always been 5 stars. It looks like they have recently upgraded their help and you can see and feel the difference. We will always come back!"

  • "The Thai/Japanese menu offers many choices - duck, fish, chicken, ....so much more. The scale of the way the food is prepared is also great to see. We had scallops wrapped in salmon (yummy) and miso black cod that came with bok choy. BYOB if you want to. Tables can be a bit close but the surrounding noise makes is seems like everyone is there for a get together."

  • "This is an outstanding restaurant! The food is great! Aoyama has a large selection of Thai and Japanese. We have been to to this restaurant over 20 times and the entire family loves it! The service is good. Try to make a reservation in order to avoid a wait."

  • "We like Aoyama for its food, service, and ambiance. The service is usually very good and efficient, but this evening it unfortunately was just too efficient - our entrees came while we were still halfway through our appetizers. Perhaps our waiter was new and inexperienced, or perhaps it was the fault of the kitchen. In any case, what should have been a nice relaxed dinner turned into a rushed affair. And the restaurant was nearly empty. This happened to us once before - soon after they opened. I strongly recommend that diners specifically ask their waiter to delay placing the entree orders to avoid this situation in the future. Or wait to order the entrees when you are almost finished with the starters."

  • "We really liked the atmosphere, and the food was very good with the exception of the steak au poive which was tough. But our other entrees and appetizers were very good...great sushi, shrimp, duck. Our waiter was very pleasant but got a few orders mixed up, but was apologetic and remedied it quickly. Overall it was a very enjoyable evening!"

  • "This restaurant has amazing food - everything I try is better than the last. Most Thai restaurants are small and cramped so this very trendy upscale atmosphere allows you to have the best of both worlds - having great Thai food that makes you feel like you are at a special location without sticker shock either. I celebrated my birthday here with my family and was thrilled to have a doggie bag to enjoy the next day too!!!"

  • "Has become one of our go to restaurants. Food and service do not disappoint. Friendly greeting from owner and staff always!! Consistent quality brings us back again and again."

  • "It was a Friday night, BYO, we had a great time. Would have liked the waitress to give us more time with respect to ordering. The calamari was awful compared to Italian restaurants....over fried, very thin rings. My friend was happy with her rolls, my red curry chicken was good. Will return but not in any rush."

  • "Very diverse menu. Something for everyone. The restaurant is very well designed. Waitress was very friendly and explained the dishes well. Liked that it is a byo. Our dinners were prepared well."

  • "Great ambiance and great service but I would say the food might be hot or miss. My shrimp was really good but I felt I needed a side to have a complete dinner. Husbands padThai was terrible. Overall we think we picked the wrong items. This could be a great restaurant if they review All of their food choices."

  • "We will never go back. Host did not honor our seating request, although olthers (party of two like us) were seated at a four person table. Area had vacant tables most of the time we were there. So called "host" gave preference to restaurants and his priorities rather than patrons. Business must being doing great so they can turn away patrons. During the week you could through rocks around room and not hit anyone. There are plenty of restaurant around that value patrons."

  • "My girlfriend had told me about Aoyama how fantastic it is. She took my brother and he said it was out of his world the ambience along of course with food. He said he has gone to many different Japanese restaurant but nothing like this one the food was fantastic. Well, of course I had to go, I went with 3 of my dearest friends and we left licking our fingers. Great"

  • "I had a 7:00 PM reservation, and wasn't seated until 7:25 PM. It was a very busy Saturday evening. Our food order was delayed do to backups in the kitchen with take-out orders. The waiter and Manager were apologetic about the delays."

  • "We have been to Aoyama four times, and it's always the same outstanding experience. The food is terrific, and the service is attentive and warm, without being intrusive. On Sunday my group included three vegans. Everything that needed to be adjusted for them was done perfectly. For me, I asked that duck be substituted for chicken. Done. It was delicious. I'm looking forward to going back soon. I need to mention that a restaurant of this quality does not happen by accident. The managers, in their quiet way, are watching that everything is running properly."

  • "We were there for dinner on Valentines Day so it was crazy. Food was good. Service was fair. Would go again on a quieter night."

  • "Was there for lunch with my husband 2 weeks prior. Went again for dinner and Matt remembered where we sat and what we ordered to the T. He is an amazing waiter. Best service ever. He turned a great night out with my hubby into an amazing night out with the hubby."

  • "We never go out for Valentine's Day cause of the crowds plus we had to celebrate a birthday and a promotion! Fantastic food, funky tunes and terrific wait staff. Loved eveything and would tell you to try something you may not normally eat. You won't be dissapointed."

  • "We showed up in time for our 8:30 reservation on Valentines Day and were greeted by chaos: about 20 other people waiting for their tables, a receptionist hiding behind the reception desk and a kitchen with serious problems. The space looked nice but we didn't wait around to try the food, heading instead to the pizza restaurant next door. Not good, terrible management."

  • "Family went there for a Valentines lunch. There was only 1 other person there, but I guess that just left the staff more time to fawn over our group. Food was really good - had my "Drunken noodles" spicy!"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Been there 3 times. 2 out if 3 the service was just not good. Seating was worst table first! Servers seemed rushed by manager. Missed the little things that make a difference. Menu is very good - lots if choices. Food and presentation we're great! Needs to be more customer oriented."

  • "Food was excellent as usual and our waitress was awesome! Only problem all night was they were funny with reservation tables. We had a reservation for 5 but they put us at a table for 4 with an extra chair...which was fine. But they had open round tops for almost the entire duration of our stay! Seemed like silly planning, but as usual, the food and waitstaff make up for it! Thank you!"

  • "We went there for the love boat it was consistent twice the third time we ordered it was a totally different chef that made it and the menu/contents were totally different which we did not like. We would prefer consistency with our order."

  • "I'm not sure that Aoyama knows who they are. Is a bit strange to have the selections of cuisine typed in one place. I have had some thai noodle dishes there that are delicious and would recommend them. then there were other dishes i would not recommend. Strangely, the sushi is actually good, though it feels odd to order it along side a french chicken dish... The service is fine. Courteous and competent. The ambiance is a little weird. Felt like 'disco meets large cafeteria dining room'. The prices were reasonable - if you liked your dish. Given other options, I'd go somewhere else."

  • "Food is consistently good - we eat here frequently. The restaurant is both attractive and relaxing. Wait staff is attentive - A terrific addition to the neighborhood."

  • "I loved the food, the ambiance and the service was great. My only complaint is the loud birthday song that was played twice while we were there. It's disruptive when you are having a conversation. I would definitely go back."

  • "The Cracker Roll on the Japanese sushi roll specials that evening was delicious. There was no rice but instead they used toasted homemade panko breadcrumbs and the roll was wrapped with thin slices of sashimi and a special sauce. Great flavor. The crispy whole fish was excellent and required no work because all the pieces were separated and ready to eat as well. The jumpo shrimp on a bed of marinated spinach was so flavorful. I would recommend this to anyone with an appreciated for Thai food."

  • "Low-quality food at very high prices. I've had Chinese take-out that was better than this food. Either the was bland, extremely spicy, or extremely sweet. No balance. And portions were small for what you're paying. Service was good, but I will not be going back for such mediocre food."

  • "My boyfriend and I can't stop coming back to this place after we discovered it by accident while driving through Wyckoff. Bring a bottle of wine and settle in for a delicious Thai (or Japanese!) meal. The service is always friendly and never overbearing. Also has great ambience, especially considering it's kind of stuck behind a mall in a parking lot (don't let that keep you from coming in, please!) We find that the quality is always worth the price, which may be slightly higher than other Thai restaurants in the area. For a little more money, you get a lot more in terms of quality, environment, and service."

  • "This restaurant is fantastic -- not your run of the mill Fusion restaurant. The food is spectacular and abundant and the ambiance and service above par! Definitely will be going back there! I invite you to go too!"

  • "Waited only a few minutes. Very busy. Owner and staff reset a new table in a more appealing area to accommodate us. Food very good. Service was exceptional. Our waitress was so pleasant and would do whatever needed to make our night enjoyable. We are now regulars at this fine restaurant."

  • "My husband and I have eaten in the Wyckoff Aoyama at least 15 times. We love it! The food is always delicious. Service impeccable. Pretty restaurant. The arugula salad is devine. I even get it to go sometimes. We have had large parties, intimate meals which is a romantic place to eat, and special occasions. Anniversaries and a few birthday parties an 2 Christmas Eves! Highly recommend."
