We had a fairly enjoyable brunch here in that the food is good, BUT it was marred by many many small flies that hovered over our table. Plus, the bartender "didn't show up," so we were advised against ordering brunch cocktails, which was a shame (though we appreciated the upfront recommendation!). The flies ultimately spoiled our experience and meant we wanted to rush out versus linger over our table.

We enjoyed the food once we were able to eat. We arrived at 8:15am for breakfast with a reservation at 8:30 the restaurant opened at 8:00 the chef had not arrived yet and we did not order till 8:45. The servers were kind and gave us drinks and banquettes. When we did finally order the continental breakfast for our kids which had a pastry ( croissants) listed they were not available yet ,they had not been delivered. So 15 min later in to breakfast they arrived but not warm at all. I own a restaurant myself and am amazed this is tolerated. SO arriving at 8:15 by 9:00 we finally had all our breakfast. Poor customer service!

Knew nothing about this restaurant before going, other than a nice-looking website. Was a little anxious because I picked the place and my dinner companion can be finicky. We both ended up loving it. Everything was spot-on--the atmosphere, decor, service, wine and food. We ate on the early side, so it was nice and quiet--later might be louder. The coq au vin was so delicious, I ate the entire well-sized portion. No room for dessert, so can't judge that. Will definitely go back.

This was the last visit before I change jobs to another city. I've come here for office events several times over the years as well as after work get togethers. Great appetizers and courses. The wine list is good and the cheeses are well curated. Nice to eat in the garden in back.

I found AOC many years ago on my trips to NYC, and I always try to stop in for dinner when I am in town. This time I had the small cheese board and the moules/frites. Both were well presented and were delicious! The menu is somewhat limited vs. what it has been in the past, but that is probably helping the quality of the meal and the presentation. I do wish they would bring the lamb shank back as it was always a favorite item on the menu.

AOC is a wonderful place to go to in the summer. Service is not as fast as in other restaurants which means you actually get to enjoy the place and relax after dinner without the check on the table after 5 minutes. The food is delicious but most wonderful is the athmosphere. It's quiet and cozy with a lovely garden in the back where you sit under trees.

We tried three different wines by the glass and none was satisfactory. The waiter kindly replaced the first red, but the second was hardly any better. The foie gras had a bitter aftertaste, and the mushroom/seafood risotto was overcooked and then completely spoiled by gobs of melted cheese. In my book a light touch with freshly ground good hard cheese such as Reggio Parmigiano added just before serving is all that is needed. On the other hand, the service and hostess were very friendly and honored our request made on OpenTable for a garden table. The garden is quite nice; it's too bad the food we ordered was not worthy of the nice setting.

The hostess seemed anxious when we arrived. Our server was kind enough, after our appetizers had been cleared he asked how everything was, then if we wanted to see a desert menu, he seemed confused when we said we had not received our entrees yet. When the busboy brought out the entrees he had to ask us to take them out of his hands because he had carried to much at once, the plates were hot, heavy, and awkwardly weighted so this was no easy task from the sitting position. Again, the food was really yummy, but the busboy tried to clear our plates 3 times before we were finished, there was still a good deal of food the first 2 times he tried. between the main course and desert we asked for more water, we asked 5 times before we received it.

Went here for dinner before a show at the nearby Barrow Street Theater. The decor is old, nothing fancy, but pleasant enough, including the garden setting. The drinks were ample and superb. The new waiters have to be more attentive and a little more formal. For example they shouldn't touch the customer when explaining things. Food and selections are all good. Our waiter was good but manager and cooks are why I will never return. My wife and I both ordered red meat we requested cooked medium. My burger looked like it sat under to heat lamp for an hour and the meat was dark grey. My wife sent back her steak because there was no read meat on the whole plate. The manager came over and acted surprised we sent it back. No lie 3 minutes later they had claimed to have cooked a new streak. All they did is have someone in the kitchen put red food die on the top pieces because when she cut through the steak it was dark grey like my burger. Safe to say we will never return.
