AOCNew AOC Location Make it Even BetteThe new location on 3rd street near Beverly Center is great. Spanish style building with a lovely enclosed outdoor space that is Hacienda like. Food is still good like old AOC. We sat outdoors and it was a lovely space. Only complaint was waiter service outside was bit spotty. Otherwise, will be back6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the new digs!We were frequent diners at AOC's previous location, and this was our first time at the new spot. Amazing vibe (albeit a bit "energetic" in the bar area), and the outside courtyard will be a summer favorite for us. The food is just as amazing as it ever was, and the charcuterie should not be missed. Standout was black rice with squid ink.
The service is actually markedly better than before, and it was good then! Way to go Suzanne!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Wine Bar, Even Without WineRecently had lunch at AOC in their new location on Third. Nice quiet outdoor terrace, with wonderful food (appetizer of roasted bacon wrapped dates were awesome!), very good service, and although we didn't partake in any wine, the list was filled with interesting choices that I'm sure I will return for.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a fabulous lunch, deliciousHad a fabulous lunch, delicious salad, perfect pasta divine desserts6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWest Hollywood GemOAC recently moved to this new location. It is about 4 times bigger than its old location. Only slight variations of a couple of menu items were changed. Food quality is above average. Service was not spectacular but only because the place was packed to the hilt evern at 9:00 p.m.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there for my daughter'sWent there for my daughter's birthday. Both my daughters are vegetarians, one eats fish, the pother does not, and the other two in our party eat meat. Our waitress was very helpful in the selection process, although she seemed to like everything I asked about. Food was tasty, however, when they say SMALL plates, they mean it. We ordered more when we saw the portion size. We sat outside on the patio, which was lovely.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSome of the best food in LAI am a huge foodie and AOC definitely ranks in my top 3 restaurants in LA. I live on the West Side and I tend to get stuck in my bubble since there are so many good restaurants within biking distance, but AOC is worth the drive. The decor and outside patio are lovely and the crowd is hip yet sophisticated. The restaurant was extremely busy on a Wednesday night and our server was spread thin, which I assume is probably the case on most nights, so be prepared to wait a while for service.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLounder than the Original LocationMy absolute favorite dining experience in LA. Lovethe boutique wines, always good and reasonably priced. The heated outdoor patio is lovely, the indoor area is now a "bar" environment rather than a nice dining room. I'd prefer to sit on patio. Bar dining room was LOUD, but easily heard our own conversation. Food is always INCREDIBLE!! Susan offers seasonal fare, prepared in unique fashion - ALWAYS DELICIOUS. Our favorites tonight were: Dates, Crostinis, Farmers plate, Soft Shell Crab, Spanish Fried Chicken, Pig Confit, Squash Pancake Salad, and finished with the perfect Apple Crisp that wasn't overly sweet. Valet parking is the only way to go here! The crowd is of varying ages. Top TOP Notch.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely dinnin experience.Lovely dinnin experience. The patio seating is very nice We ordered a variety of small plates. Each one was delicious. Especially liked the charcuterie plates the fried chicken was very good. The service was helpful in suggesting what to order. Overall a very pleasant dining experience.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMPut it on your listWe've wanted to go for quite a while and were very pleased with what we found. A charming patio, excellent wine list, very good service, and fun food. I had the Vintners' Lunch, a breadboard full of great cheeses, cold cuts, pickled vegetables that went well with the Rhone wine. My partner had a focaccia with leeks, goat cheese and caramelized onions that was just the right taste & size. We will certainly be back to try other pairings from the menu & wine list.6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOverall we loved the food.Overall we loved the food. That said, there was quite a long wait in between small plates despite the fact that our server asked us to please order everything at once so they could pace out our meal appropriately. It was also extremely loud due to a large crowd at the bar.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMMy first time, and not my last.I'd never been to AOC before, though friends often mentioned it. I don't know what I was waiting for...it was really very tasty and the new location is beautiful. The patio was very nice, but being stuck inside wouldn't be so bad either - it's just a really nice space.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe New AOCIs better than ever. We have eaten here three times since it moved and the Mediterranean ambiance adds final piece to make this one of LA's best. The menu has also been pared down to make it easier to choose the delicious small plates and the addition of family style platters like the "Zuni" inspired roast chicken with bread salad make AOC a perfect choice for those diners that have a hard time with small plate eating.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSummer in the city! What a lovely evening outside, in a garden patio. We were served promptly. There was a large selection of Tapas style goodies with grilled bread. Everything we ordered from clams to chicken, veggies and charcuterie, tasted yummy. I will return!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMA Gastronome's DelightTalk about spoiled for choice! AOC's menu is a can't-go-wrong cornucopia of eating pleasures and treasures. It takes much more restraint than our party could demonstrate to avoid over-ordering when everything sounds so good -- then actually is! We shared four small plates: chicken liver crostini, pork rillettes, veal saltimbocca with polenta, and a prosciutto-gruyere brioche topped with an egg. That would have been sufficient for our group, but we could not resist the "ode to Zuni Cafe" roasted chicken which was truly magnificent. The service was excellent: personable, responsive and completely engaged. Obviously a restaurant that calls itself AOC is pre-determined to offer an exceptional wine list, but most were unknown to us.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the most enjoyableOne of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've had this year. The patio is wonderful. The menu has many "small plates", which are great for sharing. This is a fabulous place. I had been to the old location many times, which I always enjoyed, but the new place is even better, with more of a sense of openness and comfort.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunch at AOC--a lovely alternativeI have been a loyal fan of AOC for many years, but this was my first time there for brunch. It was a nice alternative to dinner, especially since the restaurant is seeing tremendous business following their move west of La Cienega. The brunch scene is more low-key, not as crowded, and on a beautiful sunny Sunday, their fabulous outdoor patio provides a great setting. I felt the menu provided many nice options--some very breakfast focused, and some very similar or straight from, the dinner menu. I had the duck confit hash, a lovely salad with arugula, strawberries and walnuts, and a sparkling rose from Austria that was delicious and well priced.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA Magnificent Dining ExperienceOur recent dinner at AOC was perfect in every respect. Each small plate we ordered was delicious and so creative. Seating was comfortable and service was impeccable. So nice when everything comes together so harmoniously.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this placeI've been here a couple times now & it doesn't disappoint. Great service, great vibe, great food.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLittle GemGreat service, good food and nice décor makes this a must try...5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMI Love AOCGreat food, womderful service on the best patio. I'm so glad they moved close to my office!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAOC at its new locationMy family and I loved AOC for its food and service for many years now. Since they moved into their new location we can add the ambience to that list as well. The new location is beautiful and has a lovely patio, we have been there twice and sat inside and out and had a great Expierence both times. I love bringing a good btl of wine and inviting my server to try it with me. It's always nice to share with people who are passionate and knowledgeable about wine.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove AOC's romantic courtyard. This is one of the most beautiful patios in Los Angeles. You will feel special out here in the Spanish style courtyard. And you will love the service and food. Spent Mother's Day here with my wife and son and his girl friend. It was magical.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was one of the best birthdayThis was one of the best birthday dinners of my life! Each dish was fantastic and we tried at least 10 small plates and one platter.
Only a few slips, the drink i ordered was not creative and wasn't what I asked for. When we walked in it took 5 minutes to be
seated and there weren't many people there. Otherwise it was a feast fit for foodies!
can't wait to go back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious - vibrantThe food was delicious - vibrant fresh vegetables, creamy polenta - excellent. I do miss the old Orso - it was a favorite haunt for many years - but AOC has done a great job of modernizing the space and retaining the inviting feel of the room. I'll be back.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSurprising Surprise,,,!!!When making then" Mothers' Day " reservation, I was at once curious, excited and concerned! Excited and curious at what I felt would be a great " food experience ", yet concerned about the " vibe " . Happily all my questions were answered in a resoundingly positive manner. A welcoming feel started with the valets acknowledgement to "Mom" and continued through every station of food and bar service !
I pride myself on making solid choices for special occasions, but some go deep. This one was " outta here " !!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Brunch on Mother's DayBrunch was incredible. AOC has an amazing atmosphere, it's a lovely restaurant. The brunch was delicious, I had the duck confit with poached eggs and would recommend to anyone. Bacon wrapped dates were also just as delicious as you'd expect anything wrapped in bacon to be. And no brunch is complete without a bloody mary-the spicier the better at AOC. I will be coming back!
The only minor bummer was that it happened to be 90 degrees in LA that day, and sitting outside proved to be incredibly hot. I recommend getting there earlier than later on the hot days if you'd like to sit outside.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAOC consistent as usualExcellent Mother's day brunch menu, with well executed dishes. Nothing lost in the migration from Melrose/Beverly. portions were quite ample and each dish was spot on in preparation. Will return no doubt.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMexceptional food... !!!! Willexceptional food... !!!! Will definitely visit again!!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMpleasant brunchMet a friend for Saturday brunch. Comfy booth and friendly service. Though it filled up, the noise level was not bad and my friend and I were able to have good conversation without raising our voices. Nice brunchy menu choices. I had the duck confit hash with poached eggs. Eggs were perfectly done but the duck a bit dry. Margarita was great, however, as were the bacon-wrapped dates. I would return but I would not go out of my way to eat there again.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversary Dinner for vegetariansWe have always loved AOC and were anxious to try it in it's new location for our anniversary. We were not disappointed. As vegetarians, it's sometimes difficult to find a lot of choices without just loading up on sides...At AOC we could order from any section and loved every dish. Our waiter was attentive without being annoying, and even brought us a piece of cake for our anniversary.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious. TheThe food was delicious. The service was attentive but not overbearing . I love the outdoor area.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMeccletic, perhaps too much so?The focus on multiple small plates with a variety of spices and cuisines in the mix makes it challenging to put together a gestalt for a table of diners. That said, many of the flavors were great--you need to like garlic, though!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMStill great, butI'm glad that the food as every bit as good as it was in their old location, but the new space is much noisier. Our party of three could hardly hear each other.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the new space. OrderedLove the new space. Ordered maybe 12 dishes and loved everything. Will definitely be coming back.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMKeeps Getting BetterAOC was already a great restaurant, and the new location has only made it better. What's more, some of your favorite dishes have been "refreshed" with new twists. We especially liked the fingerling potatoes, and the bacon-wrapped dates are still sumptuous. To top it all off, they now have a full bar, although the wine list is so good, you don't really need it. Great restaurant for special occassions or visiting guests.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in LALove the new location! Great service, friendly, and our waiter recommendations were excellent.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI brought my Italian cousinI brought my Italian cousin here for an early dinner and she was delighted by the ingredients and Italian dishes. This is a delightful find.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal, beautiful terraceBeautiful new space for AOC! Amazing outdoor space and the food was excellent (better than I remember it being the last time I was there). We went with a party of six and had a wonderful meal. Our waitress was knowledgeable and made excellent recommendations. We ordered maybe a little too much food but there was nothing left to take home. All in all, an excellent meal.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMi love AOC!i love AOC. i'm so glad it moved closer to my workplace. i love the unusual food, the beautiful patio and the wonderful way i'm greeted and treated there.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLove it even more in the newLove it even more in the new location!
Bill is a great addition at the bar!
Stellar service! A+!4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMThe new space is nice andThe new space is nice and open, and the food has only gotten better over time. Overall, a great dining experience.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMBuzzing and crowded....standingBuzzing and crowded....standing room only at the bar. Service was well timed and consistent.
The bacon wrapped dates and the hanger steaks with Roquefort butter are superb.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGood service, great smallGood service, great small plat dishes, & more intimate than the previous location.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMthe dishes were great! sothe dishes were great! so was the service. i had a great time!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a wonderful experience. It was a wonderful experience. THe patio was gorgeous. It felt like we were on vacation. I will be back.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Happy they have movedVery Happy they have moved to this new location...WAY BETTER!! Food is very good, must try the cheeses and wine yum!!!! Must try...4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat time. Very country feelingGreat time. Very country feeling yet with modern chic nuance. Very tasty. Relaxed, professional service.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food and service hereThe food and service here are incredible, and is a fun place for a group of friends or coworkers. The visual is romantic and intimate, but the noise level on a Friday night is extremely loud with tons of chattering groups and a packed bar. The smaller space seems to really move the sound around the room more so than the last space AOC was in. If you are looking for an energetic, fun place with great food and awesome service, this is a good place for that; and maybe not so much for a quiet date night.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways loved the old AOC -Always loved the old AOC - Always loved Joe Allen's patio. This is perfection. Service was impeccable. Food was perfect as always. The addition of a full bar to go along with their aways excellent wine list is great. So glad to have AOC in this new/old space.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AM
