Diner Reviews
  • "We ordered the fresh mozzarella & tomatoes. It was the freshest mozzarella I've tasted. I ordered fetteccini w/ mushrooms & asparagus..every bite was delicious! Highly recommened this place for a quiet, romantic dinner or just to escape the Duval crawl for the night."

  • "Wonderful seared tuna, a slight spicy twist to the white clams delicately spooned over the homemade linguini. We love the food and the atmosphere. Antonia's is welcome respite from the chaotic atmosphere of Key West."

  • "Antonia's has strong root's in family celebration for us, be it a romantic table for 2 or a family celebration of 14! On 4/6/14, we dined at 6:00pm with a table for 12, 7 adult's and 5 children ( 10-2 yrs.), all who had good table manners. The service was excellent, the dining delighted and pleased all. The wonderful Italian cookies, to finish off a great night, is always the perfect treat from Antonia's!"

  • "Antonia's is an adorable, quaint spot and the Caesars salad with lobster was amazing. The calamari was to strong and garlicky. When I asked the waiter about foods with dietary restrictions, he was very dismissive. He very arigantly let us know that the restaurant had no interest in being flexible to anyone with food issues. The manager blew by our table and asked if everything was ok but didn't stop long enough to actually act like he cared. Overall, we felt Antonia's had an air of arrogance. We didn't get the warm welcome feeling that we received everywhere else in KW. I wouldn't recommend it. There are so many other restaurants in KW that would love to have your business."

  • "We were in Key West on vacation and Antonia's was a very nice place to dine. We really enjoyed the walk to get there and the service was outstanding. The maitre d' was outstanding! We will be back!!"

  • "Antonia's has always been a favorite as I live in Key West but recently it changed hands. This is my second visit since the new ownership and it is failing terribly. Would not take guests again until things change dramatically. Same happened when Antonia and Phillip sold years ago and it did eventually get better. One can only hope."

  • "We had an amazing dinner at Antonias. It was my first time to Key West and I am so glad that we decided to make this our selection for our first night out. Wonderful atmosphere, staff, and food."

  • "For the past 26 years, Antonia's has been one of my very favorite Key Wedt dining spots. I am delighted that with new owners the commitment to excellence continues. Bravo.. Hope to see you soon, and often!"

  • "Antonia's was more than accommodating with the number of people we showed up with. The food was great and Anthony, who was our waiter, did a great job of looking after our table's. We were not rushed to leave even though we were the last group in there. We will be returning next year to Antonia's for dinner on our yearly fishing trip. GOOD JOB TO EVERYONE WHO WORKED THAT NIGHT."

  • "Dinner was excellent, service was impeccable. We had linguine with little neck clams- amazing pasta made in house. Also the lamb chops finished with a sauce that complemented them perfectly. Our only regret is being too full for dessert. Maybe next time."

  • "Food was excellent. Service was also right on target. Recommended for any occasion."

  • "A modern, up-scale appearance from the street (Duval St) was the lure that brought us to dinner. Our table was at the rear, along the wall and afforded a comfortable ambiance that enabled peaceful conversation and an appreciation for the extraordinary service (Lisa and her bus associates were wonderful) and suburb food. The wine list was ambitious, but thankfully offered some reasonably priced and delicious wines as well. My only reservation was the selection of the background music and I suggested more suitable, Italian rather than the more "popular" music that played through dinner. Low lighting caused me to use a handy pocket light to read the menu (but I'm an old guy, afterall). Bottomline: We'd go back in a heart-beat."

  • "Waiter seemed bored an unhelpful. Food average. Room dark and unimaginitive."

  • "We have often dined at Antonia's, usually a charming place with very good food. This year was disappointing. The waiter was unknowledgeable and rude. My dining partner has a lactose intolerance and in the past visits this was met with a very helpful response - it was never a problem. This year the waiter insisted that the chef would not make any accommodations, substitutions of any kind were forbidden and the whole experience was frustrating. Given the price of the food we found this unacceptable. Our meals were mediocre at best - my yellow tail snapper was drenched in butter and the broccoli rabe was inedible because of the huge amount of garlic gloves. My partners fettuccini with ragu was overcooked and the sauce disappointing."

  • "1 hour twenty five minute wait for food. Not even a piece of bread until 5 minutes before meal came. Very limited selection for brunch. This one gets a thumbs down! We were all shocked as this used to be a perfect place."

  • "The food was incredible and the service outstanding I just wish our waitress knew more about the menu, but I recommend this restaurant."

  • "My wife, my two adult children and I ate at Antonia's on a Sunday night. We were very disappointed. We had read the reviews and were looking forward to something special. The seafood in my pasta was overlooked and somewhat bland. My wife and son' s fish was over cooked. My daughter's linguine and asparagus was good. For appetizer the calamari was ok, a little tough and the cauliflower soup was bland. The panna cotta dessert was excellent but took over 20 minutes because the kitchen "forgot" about it. Overall a disappointment."

  • "We enjoyed an evening of genuine Italian fare, with great service and pleasant surroundings. Traditional dishes done with a modern flare and excellent prep, accompaniied excellent service and a moderate noise level that allowed conversation without shouting or leaning in. Highly reccommended."

  • "Pasta was too al dente and sauces were not good; cream sauce had no flavor and red sauce was equal to jarred sauce."

  • "Great decor. Food delicious. Service excellent ,fast and attentive. Only complaint was one large (8-10 people) corporate group was very loud and disruptive to other diners' full enjoyment of the otherwise excellent dining experience ,"

  • "The best thing about the meal was the flatbread. The food has gone downhill."

  • "First time at this pretty restaurant. Location right in heart of Duval St, so we could walk from our B&B. I had the veal dish, the sauce was nice and the veal was tender. My husband had the Linguine w/clam sauce. He said it was ok. There were plenty of clams, but the sauce was very bland. Just really basic. But the ambiance was nice. Not sure if we would return, just not anything to remember."

  • "We had already tried the other Italian restaurant on Duval and decided to give Antonia's a try. Ari did a great job with the service, but the food was only ok."
    Dined on 1/26/2014
  • "We were fortunate to have the best table in the restaurant but definitely plan on reserving it. Works if you have 2 people for dinner to reserve the window seat as it is much quieter and much more private as well as giving the diners a nice view of the street. The other tables are jammed in tight and this could be a very unpleasant experience for some, especially given the high noise level. The service is ok for this type of neighborhood restaurant. Suffers from the typical Italian food is overrated problem but if you like the cuisine it is probably one of the better choices. Food is prepared correctly. Cautiously recommended."

  • "Love the ambiance and character. Seems to be new chef. Five in our party and all had great dishes. Stuffed Ravioli, two other pasta dishes and one snapper dish. All perfectly cooked . The filth was an appetizer for a small eater. Escargot. Now as great as last chef but still very good. The only negative was a bland Antipasto appetizer."

  • "We enjoy dining at Antonia's every time we visit Key West. Over the years, the food remains consistently wonderful. This year my partner had a pasta dish, requesting fettuccine instead of linguine. Evidently the kitchen made a mistake and made the dish with the usual linguine. We accepted the dish rather than sending it back, however the apology from our waiter was stiff and not apologetic. We thought this mistake should have been communicated to the manager but no acknowledgment was made to us."

  • "Went there for New Years Eve. Cost about $250 for 2 people... Only 3 cocktails. I felt like I was at the cafeteria. Food quality was poor and they just wanted us in and out of there. We are big foodies... Many other key west restaurants worth your time and money. Don't waste it here!"
    Dined on 12/31/2013
  • "We were a litle disappointed. There was a New Year's Eve set menu & they run out of the lobster bisque soup @ 9:00 PM. Also, they place a teaspoon of ice cream on the soufflé. We are used to see a full scoop of ice cream instead of a teaspoon. However, we understand that it was a special occasion & they failed to anticipate the turn out. So, we gave them a 5 star overall rating."

  • "We come to Key West a couple of times a year and Antonia's is a must stop for us. Unfortunately, our service was a little off Monday night, maybe due to New Years Eve Eve? but the food is always good... still highly recommend it and so easy to make our reservation on line with you:)"

  • "My husband and I were looking for a great Italian place on our vacation to the Keys. We knew we'd be dining in Key West and jumped on opentable to see what was recommended. After reading the reviews, we choose Antonia's. Wow, this is a great Italian restaurant and not what you'd expect to find on Duval Street. Knowing it is a tourist street, we were surprised at what an elegant restaurant it was. We felt as if we were dining in a fancy Manhattan restaurant. The food was amazing and being Italian myself, I am a tough critic. This place is really amazing...a great restaurant with awesome food, nice ambiance, great service, and an overall must dine at place. We travel to The keys about once a year and we will make sure we eat here every visit."

  • "We sampled a couple high end restaurants in KW and this is among the best. Don't think twice - book a table."
    Dined on 12/27/2013
  • "I am always leery of restaurants on Duval St due to its touristy nature. Antonia's was an exception. Walking through the door brings one from the hustle of Duval St into a warm, quiet dining room with just the right amount if light and noise. The wait staff was very friendly. Antipasto and beef carpaccio for the table were good starters. Pickled vegetables on the antipasto were great. Entrees consisted of homemade pastas with not too heavy sauces. The Shrimp with tomato sauce was excellent. The yellowtail was cooked perfectly and seasoned so as not to overpower the dish. Only adjustment: my lasagne had too much cheese on top. Some bites had the lasagne lost in the sea of melted cheese. Overall a very nice meal that all six if us enjoyed."
