Being a New Jersey resident, I had found Antonello on Open Table the first time I visited Costa Mesa. Loved it enough to return...and will the next time also! The bronzino special was wonderful....their veal is delicious. The service is impeccable, the food is to die for, and the restaurant is adorable! Words can not do this restaurant justice! The attention to detail goes above and beyond. The ambiance is not the most romantic but is good. The food was very good, flavorful, and fresh; try the clams. A great dining experience which we love to repeat.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMItalian Fine Dining at it's BestWe started with Burrata antipasti with Imported Smoked Prosciutto and Ligurian Olive Oil. The cheese was extremely tasty and had a very buttery texture. The smoked prosciutto complimented the cheese very well. Next was the Insalata Antonello. The salads were fresh and had a good assortment of ingredients which included hazelnuts to give an extra crunch. For main courses we had the Cioppino. It had a good amount of seafood and was very good. The other main course was Veal Shank Oso Bucco. It was one of the specials for the night. Oso Bucco is my favorite Italian dish and always order it when available since not many restaurants take the time it needs to prepare this fine dish. We had a group of 10 celebrating a special anniversary and it was a perfect night. We had one of the private rooms that was perfect for our group. We were on our way to Segerstrom Center and dinner was timed so that we had plenty of time to get there. We all tried one of the specials of the night. The Chiliean Sea bass was outstanding, as was the soup prepared with potatoes and artichokes. Not too intrusive, though a bit difficult to understand (which was mutual!) Antonello's is an old favourite and I am happy that they still keep a robust business. Also LOVE that they still have matchbooks available! Most restaurants are to be too cheap these days to supply them, yet those matchbooks is what reminds me that I need to go back to a restaurant I may have been away from for awhile.
