Antlers LodgeWonderful Treat!My mother was visiting from up North and I took her to this lovely restaraunt I found when staying at the hotel during a previous visit. Luckily, you do not have to have a room to enjoy this gem! The restaraunt was just what we needed, a tranquil space where we had room to talk leisurely and enjoy an amazing meal and bottle of wine. Everything was paced perfectly. The attendants took care of our needs before we noticed we needed them. The Roasted Poblano Chile Was absolutely fabulous!!! Even my husband (who requires meat in all his meals) loved this meatless dish. The red fish was absolutely pitiful! I buy better frozen fish at Costco for a fraction of the cost. My wife and I really enjoyed the food (steaks were great!), the ambience and the servers were very attentive. Most especially, they went over the top by providing us at no charge with a little touch of wishing us a Happy 21st Anniversary note. Very nice! The food was fantastic! The service was excellent! It is pricey , but we expected that and it was well worth every penny. I would recommend to anyone wanting a special romantic dinner. We normally head downtown to Morton's or The Palm but a friend had told us about Antlers so we decided to give it a try. Even though it's a bit out of the way for us we would definitely return. I had the elk and my wife had the filet and both were excellent. We enjoyed the regional flair that the food had, inparticular the wedge salad... his thing packs a punch and we both loved it! The menu is interesting to read with creative combinations but not so creative that you lose what your eating. We count it as perhaps the best meal we've had in San Antonio.
