Antica PesaTop notch food and serviceWilliamsburg is rapidly becoming a true foodie scene and Antica Pesa will be at the top of the list for years to come. The service is impeccable, they make you feel like a true regular every time and the past is to die for!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWhen in Rome....Or in New York, and wishing one were in Rome...
DO try this splendid, happening restaurant... which manages to be excellent and yet not too preciously trendy.
The ambience is terrific, but the real reason to go is the FOOD.
It was an altogether outstanding evening...5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food ! Time and serviceI just think we found a gem in Brooklyn! Good is delicious! Not to mention their dessert !
I love it great :)5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLike being on vacation in ItalyTruly superb dining experience- from the food, to to wine and the service. I've travelled in Italy and eaten in its fine restaurants, and this restaurant represents it's homeland tremendously well. I'm so glad I live in the neighborhood and can live out part of my Italian dream just around the block.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAntica Pesa: a gem of Italy in USAAfter a great experience at Antica Pesa in Rome, Lorenzo is a living example of what a good Italian restaurant should be in USA. There is a personal touch in everything, the recipies, the wine list, the friendly atmosphere and the quality is simply superb. I love Antica Pesa and I would recommend it to anyone in love with the poems of Italian cuisine...5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat hot spotWe went to Antica Pesa in Rome a few weeks ago and this is a faithful rendition of the Roman original, in some ways even better.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile visiting our favouriteWhile visiting our favourite restaurant in Rome (italy) - Pierluigi - we learned that a "sister" restaurant would open in New York. Now visiting New York - we found Antica Pesa a new gem, that will be on our list of "must visit" in future visits to NYC.
The service is outstanding, you are welcomed as a friend - and when we had no specific preferences as to the menu, they gave us a "surprise " menu. Oustanding selection of antipasti (try the smoked duck carpaccio...) - and the primi were great choices as well. An intereresting wine list. - and some unknown (to me) white varietals turned out to be perfect matches to the food.
Will be back next time in New York......4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMDo Not Miss This. The BEST!Antica Pesa is the best restaurant I've been too in a LONG time. The food is remarkable-- perfectly prepared, inventive and absolutely delicious. Perfect in every way. The wines were also out of this world. Let Gabriella choose for you. He is a genius.
DO not miss an opportunity of a lifetime. An unforgettable culinary experience.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAntica Pesa is one of thoseAntica Pesa is one of those rare finds where you can get classic Italian cooking along with some exciting twists on old favorites. The atmosphere is amazing, the decor well-thought out and the owners are often out ensuring you have a great experience. The bartenders are incredible (particularly Mike!) and everyone is there to ensure you have a great meal. A must not miss restaurant in Williamsburg!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHands-down the best restaurantHands-down the best restaurant we've been to in Williamsburg, and possibly all of Brooklyn. We've been twice now and will return again soon. Amazingly knowledgable staff, but not pushy; fantastic wine list, but not too overpriced; vibrant scene, but you can still hear the person you came with and have a conversation. Go!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMNice break from the WilliamsburgNice break from the Williamsburg hipster scene. Pro staff that understands and can articulate dish relationships. Not sure what you want? Let them select for you. Great for entertaining clients.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the Wait!My husband & I were visiting Brooklyn for the weekend & saw this restaurant on E! news & decided to check it out. The food was excellent- he had the prime rib (juicy) and I had the cod; very flavorful. Our appetizers-calamari and beef tartare were delicious as well. I am not a big red meat eater but after we split the beef tartare I wanted more. Our server was so friendly and attentive as well. The only drawback was that although we had a reseravtion, we waited about 20 minutes to sit but the food was definitely worth the wait. Also, there is very little space while you wait for your table in the front. Best bet is to just have a drink by the bar while you wait. If you are in the Willamsburg area of BK you should definitely check it out4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMjust a trip to ROMA in ItalyL'Antica Pesa is the place if you want to feel the warmth and flavors of an authentic Italian 'cucina' from Rome, Italy..4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWilliamsburg's finest - Antica PesaWith a grand gesture that outlines rustic beauty and revered tradition, Antica Pesa is worth your money and time. The minute you enter this restaurant, you feel as if you just discovered an attractive nook in the neighborhood. Don't get me wrong, Williamsburg is a trendy neighborhood filled with gems. However, Antica Pesa is one of the few that reminds you of the wonderful nature of the neighborhood. The servers are so welcoming and excited that you've come to dine with them. Rumours even say that one of them is the actual owner of the restaurant. If he is, he never hinted it except with recommendations for what to try and gracious salutes for sharing the experience with him.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoyed my time atI really enjoyed my time at Antica Pesa. The overall experience was very positive and recommendable. The restaurant business today is less about the single components and more about "the show" and Antica Pesa knows this very well.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice dinnerGreat flavor profiles but a little under seasoned.
Service was a little to casual.
A great place and transplant to the neighborhood.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a fantastic place. This is a fantastic place. I was born and lived in Rome for half of my life so I know what Italian and especially Roman cousin should taste like. And this is it. A truly amazing menu and everything is perfectly prepared and presented. I highly recommend it to everyone that appreciates authentic Italian food and is not looking for the Spaghetti and Meatballs meal. The 2 owners, Lorenzo and Francesco are simply wonderful and make you feel right at home. A must go!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic Roman / Wburg buzzTake an authentic Roman restaurant, and give it hip new digs on Williamsburg's Berry Street, and you've got Antica Pesa. The managers, wait staff and several kitchen staff are Italian, ensuring the transplant maintains its Italian bona fides. Our food was appropriately portioned and quite tasty (although who can polish off an appetizer, past, main and derssert??). The cacio e pepe pasta was pretty good (though could have been even more boldly peppered) and the guancetta (beef cheeks) had real depth of flavored and was interestingly accompanies by cooked red cabbage and tiny sunchoke chips. Some interesting Italian wines. Service was attentive and an effort was clear to make everyone feel welcome in a very Italian way3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and Service was Fabulous,Food and Service was Fabulous, like being in Italy!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMJust another wonderful findJust another wonderful find in Williamsburg. The service really shines at this Roman Italian. In fact, the entire ambiance works to the diner's advantage as the place is comfortable, with ample spread between tables. The place is truly inviting and everyone makes you feel welcome as soon as you enter. The one drawback t9hough minor) is that the huge wine list compromised by the small by-the-glass offerings (4 red's. 4 whites on this day). Other than this small detail, we enjoyed Antica Pesa and will return shortly.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic experience! EverythingFantastic experience! Everything but the zip code and wine list was just as3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMI LOVE ANTICA PESA!!!!!Where should I begin? Antica Pesa is truly a special place. Aside from the routine celebrity sightings (Madonna!!, Ivanka Trump, Tom Hardy...) the food, atmosphere, and service is outstanding. The tortellini are heavenly, the cacio e pepe, all'amatriciana, and carbonara are exceptional and cooked perfectly (like in Italy.) Moving on...the lamb chops I've had dreams about (best I have ever had!) The salt cod is also delicious!! The tiramisu is incredible. And the all Italian wine list is really special - there is an organic white wine on the menu that I've bought a case of because I loved it so much! DEFINITELY a must try!!!!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA brunch fit for a king (orA brunch fit for a king (or a new pope)....If you want bacon and eggs or French toast, go to a diner.....This is a sophisticated, leisurely--and delicious--afternoon meal (although they do offer house-made bacon as an accompaniment).3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat place , staff is wonderfulgreat place , staff is wonderful just wish they had steak on the menu , I know its not the most italian dish but i like the option ...... Have been there 4 times and its consistant each time ,,,,,,,, great food .3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter i heard about MadonnaAfter i heard about Madonna coming to dinner at antica pesa i needed to go check out that new italian spot in williansburg. My expectations were high considering the outstanding reviews they have got so far and i was a little bit skeptical . As i entered the restaurant, the hostess, the owner and one of the waiters welcomed me and my friends. We had a very pleasant time here, the food and the service was perfect. As for the general atmosphere of the place, live jazz music and the overall friendliness of the restaurant put us quite at ease. This is so far the most authentic italian cuisine i have tried so far and my italian friends agree with me, I would recommend it to any italian food lovers, and this without any doubt.2/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat plus gluten-free optionsReally surprisingly good food and gluten free menu. Chef came to table for questions on gluten an dairy.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
