A word from Antica Pesa
Antica Pesa opened in Rome in 1922 and since then has been run by the same family.
After 90 years of success in our country we decide to open this new venue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to bring to US the experience of our cousine.
Menu is a twist on tradition, where classic roman dishes are reworked using local products, mainly organic.
We have a wide selection of dished suitable for vegetarian or vegan and also gluten free.

Diner Reviews
  • "Having enjoyed the venerable Antica Pesa in Rome, we were eager to visit its New York branch, hoping that that satellite might be almost as good as the mother ship. If anything, it is even better! This is superb Roman cuisine at its very best. We have since been back multiple times for special occasions and have never been disappointed. The menu changes regularly and is always interesting. From classic cacio e pepe to more sophisticated dishes, the food is outstanding. Service is impeccable. The interior is chic, and there is an excellent bar. Owner/host Lorenzo and his brothers never fail to make to make one feel welcome."

  • "We had dined at their restaurant in Rome and were anxious to try out their local location after it was recommended by our server Flavio. They captured the flavors of Rome particularly with their pastas which were excellent. Service was personable and very good though frayed a bit when they got busy. Location takes a little effort to get to but was worth it."

  • "I've never in my life had better service and better food. All I can say is the owner is a living legend, and this could very well turn out to be one of the single greatest nights of my entire life."

  • "Our 2nd time here for dinner. Still very good, although not as sublime as our first time. The Cacio E Pepe is very good, although I thought the pasta they used this time was a bit heavier, although I could be mistaken. Lamb was very tasty, but the gnocchi w/ walnuts was less than satisfactory. Wines and cocktails are fantastic and service was attentive."

  • "The most attentive, friendly staff with a Continental flair in a really cool retro room that pulls it off well. Interesting dishes that try hard but just slightly missed the mark."

  • "I wanted to take my parents for a nice, Italian dinner and I am so glad I chose Antica Pesa! The place is beautiful. Modern and spacious, yet "warm" and cosy. Service was very friendly and our glasses never empty! Food was delicious. Their pasta is to die for! They make it there, it was so fresh! Slightly thicker than what I'm used to, and I have to say I loved it's texture! Cooked to al dente perfection! The flavors took us all back to our trip to Italy. It was an amazing culinary experience. And I must add something about the apetizers and deserts! Prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella was incredible! Deserts were a work of art. Very delicious art... Almond cake was fantastic, but the homemade chocolate wafer with honey gelato blew our minds"

  • "I have nothing negative to say about this restaurant. Truly a gem in the NY food scene. Each course we had was delicious and innovative while still being traditional. The service is impeccable. Highly recommend."

  • "My boyfriend and I have been here twice now, and I have to say it's one of our all-time favorite restaurants here. The food is outstanding, it's such a fun atmosphere, and the owners are all about making you feel special, and as if they're excited to have you there. The pastas are all delicious...as a matter of fact we have yet to find something on the menu that we don't love. Please go and treat yourself to a fabulous evening. They treat everyone like a VIP....a rarity in NYC these days."

  • "I think my godfather said it best (his origin is Sicilian): What great company, what a wonderful meal, impeccable service then add an over the top gracious host, close your eyes and you are transported to Italy! I was in Italy in June but didn't make it to their restaurant in Rome unfortunately."

  • "I was told it was the only true Italian restaurant in NYC, and it didn't quite live up to that reputation. But, they did serve all of my favorite Roman Italian dishes - carbonara, caccio y peppe, eggplant and ricotta. Loved the décor and ambiance. They treated us to a second dessert to celebrate our 5th anniversary. I would definitely recommend, just not with the caveat that it's the only true Italian Restaurant in the city."

  • "nothing to write home about, big bar,the food is ok just like other restaurant in the city, you eat on wood and the cost is high,no elegance for the money but for Brooklyn(greenpoint/williamsburgh)it's ok"

  • "We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. The flawless service, exceptional food, and wonderful wine suggestion really made our night special. We savored everything and weren't rushed, but also never waited. They knew it was our anniversary and immediately gave us complimentary champagne to start the night. Our appetizers and entrees were delicious and I want to go back and try everything else on the menu. We won't be able to wait until our next anniversary to come back. The only downside is that I would skip the Peanut Butter & Jelly dessert. It was disappointing compared to everything else. Maybe next time we'll go more traditional with the dessert."

  • "The pasta was great, also the starters, good winne and atmosphere but, I have to say, maybe the quantities are a little bit poor....and you pay what you have to pay, it's average , but you feel like y0oou would like to eat more!!!"

  • "This place was absolutely AWFUL! I reviewed them already on Yelp, which is not something I normally do...but it was THAT bad! I can't believe this place is surviving, especially in NYC. I live in DC, which in general has terrible food, which is why I come up to NYC, but this place would have even been bad in DC...or anywhere, for that matter. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!!"

  • "Swarming with handsome Italians. ....oh, and the food was very good too. Everything was superb. Beautiful and special decor. Warm and inviting. The staff was attentive but not cloying. They seemed to really care that we have a good time. They served very professionally but at the same time they were laid-back and friendly and sometimes funny. The mozzarella wrapped and warmed in fillo with proscuitto was incredible. Definitely will return...hopefully soon."

  • "Patricia the Italian chef moves fast, with precision with reason. The lamb chops were fantastic, the crudo is perfecto! The service is very good: However, my girlfriend felt uneasy when the maitre'd couldn't stop yelling one hostess. It seem very violent reason why my girl had no drinks and we left with no dessert."

  • "Went on a Wednesday evening with my family to celebrate my birthday. Such attentive service. It was our first time so the waiter suggested sort of a sharing menu where everything is served enough to share. Perfect!! Everything was amazing. I don't particularly like pepper but the peppered pasta was fantastic as was the mozzarella in puff pastry. Beautiful interior. "

  • "We had great expectations as Antica Pesa came highly recommended. The service was a little too much - we had several different people waiting on us and it was difficult for any of them to really get the grips on what would do it for us. We went with the recommendations of our first waiter but were not completely happy. Luckily we had both the pasta and the entree to share (misunderstanding when ordering) as the there would have been too much of the same taste having had the whole dish each. The setting is very stylish and we were well looked after but we would not travel as far for great Italian next time."

  • "This place never disappoints. I just wish more people knew about it. Or maybe not. I like the accessibility while still having to deal with the exclusivity of a wait or a list. This place rules. xoxo"

  • "Another outstanding meal at Antica Pesa. I always enjoy the food, their cacio e pepe manages to elevate an otherwise straightforward dish into something sublime, the service is incredibly warm, gracious and helpful and they have a way of making guests feel just as important as the A listers whose pictures appear on their website. Lorenzo has consistently provided a recommendation for a bottle on the well curated wine list at every price point to elevate the experience. "
