We went with a large party. Everyone's pasta was amazing(though it took a long time)...the second courses were disappointing. Venison osso bucco...and saltimocca...it would be better to stick to traditional ingredients!

Antica Pesa and owner, Lorenzo, took us on a food journey ... Lorenzo, who has as much personality, warmth and charm as his food, hand picked our menu for evening, which included mozzarella (wrapped in phyllo), prosciutto and a small portion of arugula -- perfection; two selections of pasta: stuffed ravioli topped with fried artichoke and traditional roman pasta tossed with tomato (sauce) and pork cheek -- we couldn't get enough; the most incredible lamb chop we could imagine -- it melted off of the bone; and a once-in-a-lifetime tiramisu -- taking creaminess and decadence to the heavens! Thank you, Lorenzo and staff, for an unforgettable dining adventure. We will see you in Rome next time.

Our experience at Antica Pesa was inconsistent from the start. We began with a round of classic cocktails, two of the three were extremely underwhelming. One was sent back for a martini (excellent), and the other left half empty. The salad was well executed and delicious, if not for one blatant detail - numerous items listed on the menu with kale, were crassly revised with arugula. The two vegetables do not equate and the effect was noticeable. The pasta dish was a long 'gnocchi' unlike any variety I have seen before, and the 'lamb ragu' stuffing was nonexistent. The venison Osso Bucco needs serious work, and could benefit from a sharpened steak knife for the attack. Yes, the menu is new, but experimentation should not leave the kitchen.

Though the food was outstanding (especially the pasta dishes), what truly sets this place apart (especially in Williamsburg) is the unbelieveable service. The waitstaff is attentive without being annoying, and is very accommodating.

i had a really good time at this place. the wine list is great, and the owners were wonderful. the service was a little off, but not too bad. it was definitely loud -- disco music was blasting but that was fun. the 35-dollar lamb chops (with no side dishes) was a tiny portion (three lollipops) so be prepared for that. it was tasty but not an amazing value. the prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella is a killer app. desserts were good but not mind-blowing. we spent 600 bucks for our group of five, which was fine, but for the price i would have like to see slightly more refined service and food... still, i would recommend the place for a lively night out in the burg.

This restaurant has a decidedly "big city" feel that is different for Williamsburg. The interior design, service ethos and menu are all comparable to what you might find in Manhattan, and not surprisingly, you see people with their families (read: parents) and a much older crowd at Antica Pesa that you do in neighboring spots. This is not to say necessarily that the food is superior. While very good, there are places I like better for the food in South Williamsburg (e.g. Traif, Xixa, Shalom Japan). It's a worthy dining experience, and we will return.

Having enjoyed the venerable Antica Pesa in Rome, we were eager to visit its New York branch, hoping that that satellite might be almost as good as the mother ship. If anything, it is even better! This is superb Roman cuisine at its very best. We have since been back multiple times for special occasions and have never been disappointed. The menu changes regularly and is always interesting. From classic cacio e pepe to more sophisticated dishes, the food is outstanding. Service is impeccable. The interior is chic, and there is an excellent bar. Owner/host Lorenzo and his brothers never fail to make to make one feel welcome.

We had dined at their restaurant in Rome and were anxious to try out their local location after it was recommended by our server Flavio. They captured the flavors of Rome particularly with their pastas which were excellent. Service was personable and very good though frayed a bit when they got busy. Location takes a little effort to get to but was worth it.

Our 2nd time here for dinner. Still very good, although not as sublime as our first time. The Cacio E Pepe is very good, although I thought the pasta they used this time was a bit heavier, although I could be mistaken. Lamb was very tasty, but the gnocchi w/ walnuts was less than satisfactory. Wines and cocktails are fantastic and service was attentive.

I wanted to take my parents for a nice, Italian dinner and I am so glad I chose Antica Pesa! The place is beautiful. Modern and spacious, yet "warm" and cosy. Service was very friendly and our glasses never empty! Food was delicious. Their pasta is to die for! They make it there, it was so fresh! Slightly thicker than what I'm used to, and I have to say I loved it's texture! Cooked to al dente perfection! The flavors took us all back to our trip to Italy. It was an amazing culinary experience. And I must add something about the apetizers and deserts! Prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella was incredible! Deserts were a work of art. Very delicious art... Almond cake was fantastic, but the homemade chocolate wafer with honey gelato blew our minds

I was told it was the only true Italian restaurant in NYC, and it didn't quite live up to that reputation. But, they did serve all of my favorite Roman Italian dishes - carbonara, caccio y peppe, eggplant and ricotta. Loved the décor and ambiance. They treated us to a second dessert to celebrate our 5th anniversary. I would definitely recommend, just not with the caveat that it's the only true Italian Restaurant in the city.

We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing. The flawless service, exceptional food, and wonderful wine suggestion really made our night special. We savored everything and weren't rushed, but also never waited. They knew it was our anniversary and immediately gave us complimentary champagne to start the night. Our appetizers and entrees were delicious and I want to go back and try everything else on the menu. We won't be able to wait until our next anniversary to come back. The only downside is that I would skip the Peanut Butter & Jelly dessert. It was disappointing compared to everything else. Maybe next time we'll go more traditional with the dessert.
