The modest prices for the neighborhood match the portions. A wonderful date spot, but don't go if you're starving (2 ravioli in the appetizer, and even the meat entrees were only about 3 ounces or a "deck of cards" size).

I took a group of friends here to celebrate a birthday, and everyone absolutely loved the place. The ambiance was great, and the food was fantastic. I got the grilled octopus and lamb shank special, and both were amazing. Also, the prices were pretty decent for the amount and quality of the food we got. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves food and is comfortable with a smaller restaurant space.

The best time to go is before the 9:00pm dinner rush. Love the ambience, lighting, and decor. We had great service and the food was great! The grilled octopus was well seasoned but a little chewy. Aside from that main entree was very well seasoned!

The live jazz band was a treat. However - it would have been better if they could play softer for background noise instead of full, on volume. That way I could have talked to & heard my dinner companion better. The tables were a little small for holding plates, wine/water glasses, bottle of wine, and various other a-sundries needed for dining. Food was terrific. Wine - nice selection.

We were in the neighborhood and stumbled upon this lovely French restaurant. Great ambiance and delicious food, reasonably priced especially with the happy hour deal. So we splurged on wines and cocktails. Their shrimps are very tasty, with a hint of Asian fusion in there, and the salad was refreshing! We got short ribs and salmon for the main dish - both tasted wonderful but I think the former wins with gratin as a side dish.

I rode my bike by Antibes the other day, and it looked adorable, so I made a reservation with two girlfriends. Expecting to be disappointed, I was surprised to find delicious, reasonably priced food, jazz music (although we sat a little too close), and good wine! It was a great place for catching up, but could be a fun date spot.

We sat outside in the tiny, covered area just before the main entrance. The windows were open allowing for a nice little breeze on an August night. We had the pear and arugula salad to start. For entrees we had broiled trout and the brisket. Both were excellent. The brisket came with a delicious cheesy potato side. I had wine by the glass - Pinot Noir and the Malbec. My boyfriend had one of the imported beers. The food was great and definitely worth the prices. Our waiter was quite attentive even though we were the only ones sitting outside and the rest of his tables were inside. We'll definitely go back.

Knowledgeable and helpful waitstaff, delicious food! We attended a theatrical performance right across the street and this place was recommended to us by the director, who has run over for a glass of wine and a quick meal, but hadn't enjoyed the full pleasure of leisurely dining until last night. We went early in order to make curtain, but had no sense of being rushed through the meal. Good cocktails as well. I recommend the Antibes--the restaurant and their specialty drink!

This was our second time at Antibes. I had the goat cheese and beet salad for a starter. It was rather small and a little bland. My husband had a salad with nuts and I think gorgonzola and it was tastier than my salad. Then we both had the baked skate special, which was lemony and quite delicious. For dessert my husband had the shredded halvah (which he loved) and I had the special ice creams (Bailey's and hazelnut) which were fine, but -- I don't know. The food is a little underwhelming, in my opinion. The recorded music is nice (e.g. French pop, samba) but too loud to allow conversation: so typical these days, but it was annoying to have to shout over a tiny table to hear each other.

The roasted pair salad was delicious, as was the fois gras. The entree dishes, however, were over salted and over cooked, and the portions were small. The wines by the glass were awful and had been open much too long to be serve able, the bottle of wine we ordered was not great either but our fault for choosing too young. The music was way too loud, I could barely hear the person across from me. And, on a cold night, the 5 tables close to the door are uncomfortably chilly. The place was busy so they must be doing enough right but, with so many gems in the East Village, I won't be back again.
