Anthony's Pier 4I can only sum it up as perfectI can only sum it up as perfect in every way. Outrageous food, the best service I've ever seen and so nostalgic. Amazing place!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Waterfront DiningAnthony's Pier 4 is a fabulous restaurant. I love how every table has a commanding waterfront view. The food is simply delicious. The lobster, baked stuffed shrimp and clam chowder are out of this world. They also serve you marinated mushrooms, Anthony's famous pita bread and pop overs as apps free of charge. Don't forget to top off your dinner with dessert; try the Baked Alaska - it's a great dish to share. Anthony's has a great location on Boston's waterfront, the prices are reasonable and parking is included!!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMPhenomenal ServiceOur waiter, Petrid, was the most outstanding service person we've ever experienced. Not only was he diligent but he truly cared about making our meal a very enjoyable event. He is what every waiter should strive to be.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent, asThe food was excellent, as was the service, especially for a party of twelve.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMIt had been 45 yearsI remember going to Anthony's Pier 4 for my brother's graduation from Boston University 45 years ago. I just recently moved to Boston, so I thought that I would go there, remembering the popovers. I read the reviews, which were quite mixed, especially concerning the service.
Some things had changed and some were the same. It is a much more casual restaurant, as many dinners were dressed in t-shirts and shorts, on a Saturday night. The service was outstanding. Our server could not have been more friendly, attentive and professional. She gave great suggestions (the swordfish was fresh and delicious) and did not rush us at all. The food was good, the popovers warm and delicious, as I remembered them. Parking is free and convenient.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSave room for the souffle! We were greeted with marinated mushrooms for the table and their famous popovers. The rack of lamb was encrusted with a balanced blend of mustard and spices and was cooked to a perfect medium rare. It was accompanied with perfectly roasted fingerling potatoes and ratatouille. The seafood selections were also cooked to perfection. A generous portion of filet of Sole was served with a light coating and mushroom sauce, If you want to indulge, Anthony's has the BEST souffles in the city. We have had souffle at French restaurants and they fell flat compared to the chocolate souffle and the Grand Manier souffles we had at Anthony's. Our server Jess was so pleasant and attentive without being invasive. It was a wonderful evening.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat food, great viewIt may be "old school", but it could not be better. Attentive service, hot popovers, fresh well prepared seafood, good cocktails, and a view of Boston Harbor. It is a great place and I will continue to go back again and again!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother nice lunch at PierAnother nice lunch at Pier 4. Enjoyed the baked alaska ice cream treat for dessert!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic meal in one of Boston'sFantastic meal in one of Boston's legendary seafood restaurants! Had a window seat and the view was great. The server was a little stand-offish in the beginning but came around as the evening went on.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a wonderful dinnerWe have enjoyed many events here including our first date as well as our daughters graduation from MIT!
We always love coming here for dinner. The food was wonderful and service was good. We had to get our own drinks from the bar but that did not detract from our experience. We are sorry that the restaurant will be forced to move to a new location with the sale of the site but we will follow!
We love Anthony's and recommend it to anyone visiting Boston.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI had not been to Anthony'sI had not been to Anthony's Pier 4 in many years. But in the past month I have been there on 2 occasions. I love the place especially the menu, ambiance, and service.

Great food, excellent service and an amazing view.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMI had not been to Anthoy'sI had not been to Anthoy's for many years. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the food is still delicious and the service is still warm and attentive. The popovers were to die for and the lobster roll was crammed with large portions of lobster. The Baked Alaska was so large that I could not finish it3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA very enjoyable meal withA very enjoyable meal with excellent food and a great view. The bread was great for starters followed by the marinated mushrooms. We had two excellent meals in the shrimp and the salmon. We will definitely return.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy Customer!1st time and our waitress was awesome! Will definitely return again... Food is great, but a little expensive but so worth it!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always TOP SHELF.......sadAs always TOP SHELF.......sad it will be closing (or relocating) in fall of 2013. Everyone should experience the current location of the icon Anthony's Pier 4 before it leaves.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMElegant large dining roomElegant large dining room with great views of Boston Harbor. Parking was free when we went for lunch (a rarity in Boston).3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed our lunchWe really enjoyed our lunch on a snowy day at Pier 4. Our server Andrew was perfect as usual, as were the Popovers, the Chowder, and the Scrods.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMOldie but GoodieAn oldie but goodie. Superior quality of food, that is why it has been around so long. Love the popovers. According to the server, Anthony's will remain open for quite some time during construction. Once construction has been completed. Anthony's will be relocating into the new building.3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMA shame to see them close soon. For all the negative reviews I see, this place was outstanding. The baked stuffed Lobster was moist & tender with a ritzy cracker stuffing along with extra Lobster meat. The fish chowder was stock full of fish low on crean & flour. So many places use a ton or cream & flour to hide the small amount of fish in the chowder. My partner had the "Restaurant Week" menu. It was a Lobster pie. It was pretty good, but when any place runs these type of specials, they're never as good. The popovers were great as always.Desserts were an icecream sundae & Toffee Pudding. Both were very good. The decor & interior do need an update, however.Knowing that this place will close in another year or 2, I doubt much will be done to fix it up. The food is fantastic.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMreturned to Anthony's Pierreturned to Anthony's Pier 4 on a recent business trip to Boston. I remember a special night there 30+ years ago and wanted to return. The spot is beautiful overlooking Boston Harbor, and pictures harkened to a bye-gone era of the 1960's, and 70's when the restauranteur welcomed many famous people. The food was good although not particularly inventive, and also seemed to harken another period with complimentary marianated mushrooms and gigantic hot popovers. I am sorry that after 50 years this restaurant is being torn down to make way for a water front park near new construction apartment towers. However, the times are changing. So sorry to see this icon go, however, even if it does feel a bit dated. Thanks for the memories.....3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI LOVE THE AMBIANCE AND GREATI LOVE THE AMBIANCE AND GREAT QUALITY FOOD THAT I GET HERE.
