Anthemvery pleasant experienceWe had friends from Austria who speak no English visiting, and they were delighted with the experience of eating at Anthem. We arrived 30 minutes early, and the hostess and server accomodated us without blinking.

After a minor disappointment in cooking of a steak, the manager was very sympathetic and helpful.

We ordered three appetizers: the hummus, the calamari, and the fried pickles. They were all delicious. I especially loved the fried pickles. I hadn't had fried pickles that good since Beale St. in Memphis! We also all shared cups of the wonderful Clam Chowder. I'm pretty sure we devoured the entire bowls. Each of us ordered a unique entree: chicken, steak, meatloaf, Greek salad, Bahn Mi, cheeseburger. All of them were wonderful and shared around the table. They were savory, unique, flavorful, and seasoned to perfection. Yes, all of them! Our son came into town unexpectantly and I wanted an elegant/casual restaurant in Boston where 5 of us could carry on a conversation. It was perfect. We had a corner table and with the glass walls I felt as if we were outside. The food was very good, especially the crab cakes and ravioli. We love their Fondue and get it every time, we have enjoyed the food, with the exception of their salads. I hate to say anything, but this has happened twice, in The first time I ordered a salad with grilled chicken on it, the chicken was so dried out, the edges were hard, and I could not chew it (i like everything well done, so normally this wouldnt be a problem, but that's how well done it was, it tasted days old)
This visit, I ordered the steak with the sliced filet on it, again, salad was fine, but the steak was completely dried out, cold, and was cut the wrong way, with the grain, which made a decent piece of steak impossible to chew.1/18/2013 12:00:00 AM
