We are a small restaurant, with a Creole 'cooked-to-order' menu featuring the freshest Gulf Coast seafood. We launched in July 2012, the vibe is young with a nice tension between the old building and its new inhabitants.

From all the reviews and from the menu descriptions I expected my out of state and out of country friends would have a memorable New Orleans experience. From the waiter who insisted that speckled trout was a fresh water fish to the medium rare steak that was over cooked we were unimpressed. Will not return.

We ordered a bottle when we sat down. The first course was served and no wine. We had to ask for it and the waitress told us the maître de handles the wine. A bit more time went by and the waitress informed us that they were out of the bottle we'd selected. By this time we'd finished out first course so we didn't bother to select another bottle. The maître de made no effort to apologize even though he came to our table to ask about our meal. They ended up losing a nice sale. Also the waitress was weird, in a not so great way. Very strange. The food is terrific though.

Went there at night, were looking for some turtle soup, place turned out to be pretty good, lobster and mushroom risotto was really good, along with some baked oysters. Service was very good, we were greeted and later served by a very pleasant person, Richard. I was surprised that he was not hovering over the table every second (seriously, cant stand that), but was nearby just when we needed him. Kudos to Richard!

Unfortunately, they were out of the chicken & Andouille gumbo my friend and I were hoping to eat. The main entrees part of the menu didn't have much we were interested in- So, we just ordered sides and appetizers for our whole dinner. I highly recommend the cauliflower au gratin but it is a small serving so order two if sharing. The service was attentive and very professional Matthew knew what he was doing.

We truly enjoyed our meal. The food was excellent, well prepared and appropriately priced. I had the trout. It was very fresh One of the highlights of our meal was our waiter, Allen Montreuil. He was so helpful and knowledgeable, and a pleasure to talk with. I felt completely comfortable with his suggestions. We were well taken care of. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. Too often restaurants are noisy and crowed and don't lend them selves to "dining". This was truly a dining experience. We will be back. It was also nice to find a restaurant outside of the frenzy of the french quarter with parking nearby. We parked in the lot of the WWll museum and walked a short 1 1/2 blocks to the rest. There is also valet parking available.

Well, not in a car, but in every other way. This place is just flat-out fun, the food is top-notch, interesting and decidedly local, and Annunciation is very reasonably priced. I've been visiting Annunciation for a couple of years and lots of the same folks continue to work at the restaurant, including Richard at the front of the house and AJ behind the bar. It's no wonder Annunciation stays terrific and continually improves.

I wanted to do something special for my birthday and wanted to try something out of the realm of what I'm used to, so I thought I'd give this place a try. The ambiance is great. It's not stuffy or pretentious. They were very accomodating because I had reservations, but was running late. The drinks were great, but food was a different story. I ordered the pork shoulder and it was so extremely bland. Everyone in my party concurred that the food was the low point. I was dissapointed because I feel like for what I paid for it, it just fell flat. I'm glad I tried something new, but was dissapointed with the food.

The decor is great-- old brick walls, thick ceiling beams. The fresh asparagus soup was lovely. Lobster risotto was delicious too, though presented on a dinner plate with nothing to add color or interest. The budino dessert was wonderful. Most of the menu is traditional New Orleans, so maybe a few adventurous additions would be welcome. All in all, a delightful meal. We will be back.

We had crab claws, and oysters for appetizer: soft shell crab, veal, crabmeat angel hair pasta for entrees: and ice box pie and fudge brownie gelato for dessert. We loved everything because it was fresh, not overdone with seasoning, and delicious. It was so good and beautiful that I didn't want cheese on my crabmeat pasta bc it would have ruined the delicate lemon and white wine sauce.

I was impressed with the look of the restaurant when walking by and wanted to try it. The Open Table details say "Valet parking" but fails to mention this is $10 and you must pay in advance. My Open Table reservation had a 15 minute wait -- not totally unreasonable but not a good start. The noise level is much too high and needs mitigation. Caesar salad was bland with much more Romaine rib than leaf. Fish & shrimp were perfectly cooked but bland in taste and richness for a New Orleans restaurant. The staff was very friendly and attentive. All in all it has the feel of a restaurant still in shakedown mode -- the template is very good but it's not quite there yet.

We were a table for six with 4 locals and 2 California guests. This was my third visit to the restaurant, and the delicious food and great service are what brings me back for more. Our waiter Lee was a delightful and knowledgeable server. The only downside was the tremendous noise level. Coincidentally, an article was published the same day in the Times-Picayune about the loathsome noise level at other NOLA restaurants, and how they have successfully dealt with the problem. As much as I love Annunciation, one more noisy visit will probably keep me from returning again. Sure hope that they read the article and address this major problem. Then I will happily rate them with 5 stars.

I've been to dinner here twice and had a great experience both times. Everyone in my party both times would come back. The food is quality but not overly fussy and complicated. Several of us had the soft-shell crab - perfectly fried and served with a dollop of potato salad-I haven't had better at any restaurant since Christian's closed.

Food was bland at best served at room temperature. We had smoked shoulder which was most likely pre cooked and pre portioned. Grits were room temp and probably instant our cocktails were certainly not top shelf. The grilled drum was equally disappointing. We ate our main dish and finished one drink then left The fried eggplant were frozen sticks most likely from Sysco. Will never return nor advise anyone else to eat here. Tip to owners - have a meal at Delmonico. Hot food is hot cold food is cold salty food is salty sweet food is sweet. Each bite is delightful and beautifully presented. Over the years we have eaten many meals in NO. This is by far the worst we have ever had.
