Annisaregular herealways have a great experience here - great service, good food and nice atmosphere.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful in so many dimensionsThis restaurant is an oasis in Manhattan, elegant, understated, serene. For my friend and me, it was a perfect venue to catch up. The food is extraordinary. I had the sashimi--the trout roe and yuzu pearls with the silken fish--out of this world. My friend had a wonderful pea soup. I ordered the chicken and my friend ordered the duck and we sampled each others' dishes. The chicken was just wonderful and the truffled sauce was to die for. Her duck was beautifully cooked in three preparations. We can recommend these entrees heartily. We finished up with the poppy seed bread pudding--a dessert that avoids too much sweetness with a lovely crispy outside. The wine by the glass list has lovely selections at a reasonable price. Go!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMexcellent foodIncredible - every thing from the main meal to the desserts to the service was great. If you are willing to pay a little extra the food is worth it. This place is very in demand so make sure to make a reservation.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding, very originalOutstanding, very original food, without being over-the-top, beautifully presented. A lovely room that is not too loud. Diverse and moderately priced wine menu--not huge, but more than sufficient, with some interesting choices.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMA must gotAnita Lo and her staff make every bite a journey! The complexity and flavor in every bite is blissful. The front of the house handles each request with grace. A must go if you enjoy food bursting with flavor.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a nice dinnerGreat place, the food was outstanding, wine list very reasonable. The service was ok. It took forever to get our pre dinner cocktails, than the appetizers and the entres came without any break in-between courses. We will go back. Hopefully we will get another server.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely fantastic dinnerI loved everything about Annisa and only wish I had made it there sooner. The service was flawless and food was superb. The mushroom gnocco, foie gras dumplings, and duck are the way to go. Duck dish was one of the best I've had to date and I have eaten a lot of duck! Pecan beignets were almost fun and delicious. Only thing to know is that the bourbon ice milk is heavy on the alcohol. Overall, unbelievably delicious dins.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest food in a long time !We had just the best meal ! We had been there before, the food was very good, but nothing like this outstanding dinner we had this time. Will recommend and come back many times. They could work on the Noise Level. Acoustics is not so good and it is a bit loud for that kind of place. Congratulations to them !5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMthe best of NY !I have had a wonderful experience ... thank you Annisa. The food, the ingredients are very impressive. I am French and have opportunities to test many good restaurants in Paris and NY, but it has been a long time I have not been so enthusiast.
I tried the 5-course menu, my only regret is not to have tried the 7-course menu ....5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great service!Lovely little restaurant with exceptional food. Great for special occasions! The service was great too. Would definitely recommend!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFresh fish nice decoration serviceAlmost perfect but Korean miso too much salt .
We ate 2kind of fish they are very fresh and good.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful all aroundTwo of us had a lovely and delicious evening with smooth, friendly service and one nicely put-together dish after another. I had what was probably the best lamb I can remember having-- perfectly cooked and seasoned loin with amazing flavor and texture. All of our dishes were nicely thought-out and well executed. Both of us would be happy to go back, especially in a different season when the menu will be quite different from the early spring offerings we enjoyed.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAnita Lo's food was awesome!Anita Lo's food was awesome! And some of the best service I have had in the city, well-paced and efficient yet still friendly and unpretentious.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBy far our best dining experienceBy far our best dining experience this year. We look forward to our next dinner at Annisa with keen anticipation.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were all looking forwardWe were all looking forward to the meal at Annisa, but unfortunately found the food to be underwhelming. The service was excellent, but I would not consider returning for another visit.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great, service alsoFood was great, service also great at a fair price!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMfood and service both topfood and service both top notch. will go back again for sure.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAwsome food!!!I am vegetarian and the menu only includes one edible vegetarian meal. The meal however is fit for a king. It's awesome!!! I would love to eat there daily, but it's a bit pricey!!! It's definitely a 9.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is by far the best restaurantThis is by far the best restaurant I've ever been. Exquisite meal and service. Outstanding4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst of all, I was shockedFirst of all, I was shocked to see the B grade in the window. The food was interesting and good. Rather pricey for what you get. Good, but I am not planning on returning.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful gourmet experience.A wonderful gourmet experience. Very memorable for the food and the elegant but friendly setting.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the seven course mealWe had the seven course meal which was outstanding. It was our first time at Annisa. We will definitely be back4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen here many times and itsBeen here many times and its always great! The service was not so good this trip but I think they were understaffed that night. The food is always amazing so I can't complain! Highly recommended!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was excellent, serversThe food was excellent, servers were professional, all of them possessed great product knowledge and were very accommodating towards our requests.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccableProbably the best meal I have ever had (and the previous best was also at Annisa). Each bite was a new adventure: The eggplant with garlic fried milk (and that is not a mistyping, that is what it was) was fabulous, ditto the mackerel. Inventive, subtle, delicious cooking, and first-rate service.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous. A party of sevenFabulous. A party of seven & Everyone felt special. Each dish was exceptional4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMReally interesting food --Really interesting food -- red lentil soup with 12 spices and chicken with chicken feet ( which was just like stuffing stuffed underneath the breast. Strict policy in seating -- everyone has to be there before they will seat you and there is not a lot of room at the bar. Very small, gracious room and lovely service.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMA night to rememberAnissa is a small restaurant in the West Village and the understated decor reflects the serene minimalist fusion that characterizes Chef Lo’s culinary arts, a blend of her Asian heritage, French training and eclectic sampling of world cuisines.
The waitstaff was attentive yet unobtrusive, and happily provided detailed explanations of the many dishes that came our way. To sample the widest variety of dishes from the imaginative menu, we opted for the 7 course tasting menu, which is different for every table. There is also a 5 course menu, but believe me, you’ll wish you went with the 7.
A memorable evening, and we highly recommend Anissa as an addition to your foodie bucket list!4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was delicious--well-executThe food was delicious--well-executed with some subtle surprises--and the service is just as good--attentive but not invasive. They're smart enough to provide an extra serving of a dish served in threes for a party of four (try the soup dumpling!), and honest enough to recommend a more appropriate cheaper wine over a more expensive one. Quiet and elegant yet not fussy at all.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMeeting a celebrity chefWent to Annisa and tried out their 7 course chef tasting menu. Food was fantastic, the restaurant ambience was great. Despite the smaller portions, it was still a very good experience. The only 2 things that I thought could have been better were: 1) The dining area seems temperature seems to be a little bit warmer than it needs to be; 2) The tasting menu took the entire night for us to finish, mostly because it took quite a while in between courses and we ended up sitting there and waiting and more waiting. But besides that, the entire experience was fantastic, one of the most memorable dining experience I have had. To top it off, we met the chef in person afterwards when she came to greet the table next to us and we chatted with her.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding, food, serviceOutstanding, food, service and atmosphere. A gem in the village. WIll come back to this restaurant4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Tasting MenuGreat tasting menu! They take the time to ask a series of questions before designing your menu in order to make sure that each diner enjoys their meal.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPleasantly surprisedA small, delicious wonder. I enjoyed spending my time and money here. The food is exquisite and the decor is simple and chic. I thought it was definitely more of a "romantic" restaurant, perfect for a date. Would love to come back.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent. 7 course tastingExcellent. 7 course tasting was phenomenal.Enjoyed every single bite.Service was top notch.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMLittle hidden GemFantastic tasting menu, with great friendly service.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMvery tasty food, great servicevery tasty food, great service but a bit more expensive than expected! I went for the 5 course dinner but I was still hungry afterwards.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMBest dining experience inBest dining experience in a long time. The food was absolutely outstanding - creative dishes (substance over fluff), excellent ingredients, and consistent and flawless execution. Great value. Very nice dining room. Retains neighborhood feel - possible to pop in for a casual bite at the bar.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAnnisa is one of NYC's best.Annisa is one of NYC's best. Inventive food in a comfortable setting. Book a table if you can.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the 5 course tastingWe had the 5 course tasting menu...a wonderful experience. Everything was outstanding, especially the sable, duck and all of the desserts.3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a second outstandingWe had a second outstanding meal at Annisa. We had the tasting menu which I love and the wine tastings that were poured were very well chosen and presented. We'd been on a kick having tasting menus in Boston and New York and we thought the way the wines were discussed was wonderful, much more meaningful than usual. The signature soup dumpling dish should be served in a tiny bowl with some broth to keep it warm. By the time the waiter has finished explaining the best way to manage to eat it (which I knew already) its starting to get cold. The desserts: one bread pudding and one beignet with vodka sorbet were absolute standouts, as was the wine choice. The service was attentive and intimate without being overbearing.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMEclectic mixes that reallyEclectic mixes that really work. Exceptional flavors and preparation.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMScrumptiousWe had the 5 course tasting menu and every dish was fantastic. Even the desserts were unbelievable. We have been touting it to our friends and family. Make sure you reserve well ahead of time as obviously the word is out, and it is not a very large place.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways terrific, always inventive.Always terrific, always inventive. Just fabulous!!!!!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMwe celebrated my husband'swe celebrated my husband's 50th with our family. did the 5 course tasting menu. everyone loved it and we will certainly return for another special occasion.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll Be BackThis, our second time at Annisa, was an absolute delight. We had the 5 course tasting with wine pairings. We both had a few things we preferred to not eat, and so the meals were well suited to our individual preferences. The wines, specific to our individual courses, were perfect. Our service was great. Even though the waiter said he was quite new, you would never have known that from his professional service and knowledge.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely delicious!I've never eaten anything at Annisa that wasn't absolutely delicious.3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMAnnisa- 5 course tasting menuBest meal ever, we had the tasting menu, 5 courses. Enjoyed every course, especially the soup dumpling and poppy seed/meyer lemon bread pudding! Service was fabulous. It will be the place we stop every time we travel to NYC!2/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExtraordinaryAnnisa is one of the very best restaurants in the city, and certainly the best in the village. The food is amazing, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the ambiance is soft and seductive and the seating is unusually comfortable. I've been there dozens of times and it's always great. Be sure to try the beignets with bourbon ice.2/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGood, but not memorableThis was our second time to Annisa, and it left us with the same impression: good. Not great, just good. The tasting menu was a fair deal, and with the exception of the frog legs, which were oddly fishy, everything was good. But we couldn't shake a feeling of wanting more. More invention. More variety. More excitement. Annisa deserves a try. Perhaps it will be more memorable for you.2/17/2013 12:00:00 AMBrilliantI've been to Annisa 30 or 40 times now and very meal I've eaten there has been utterly brilliant. Need I say more?1/30/2013 12:00:00 AM
