A word from Annie's Bistro Francais
Annie's Bistro is located in beautiful Mount Pleasant Towne Centre in South Carolina, nearby Historic Charleston. Owned and operated by Carole Robert and her husband Mark Manly, Annie's Bistro Francais is named for Carole's late French mother.

Carole, the chef, found a love for cooking while growing up in Paris and spending weekends on a family farm outside the city. There she was immersed in farm life and learned everything from pickling vegetables to butchering chickens. Eating was always a big part of family events and in preparation for these gatherings she learned recipes and techniques of French cooking.

At Annie's Bistro, everything is fresh, using locally grown produce. With no pre-packaging, your food is made to order. You can dine in or take out and during the warm seasons there is outside seating. Experience lively conversation or settle into a quiet nook, all while enjoying fresh farm to table food.

  • "I would not recommend this restaurant to a anybody right now. I am a snowbird and will be back next winter to try it again. There seems to be a problem with working out the kitchen as it is very slow. Neither my husband or i enjoyed our meals......My duck breast was tough though it looked red --it seemed to have put under a lamp or in a microwave before serving. The merguez that my husband had was not very good and we wondered where they came from---a French restaurant that closed in 2013 had wonderful ones....maybe a different distributor. Also the kitchen had a heavy hand with SALT which is not good for lot of people who suffer from edema easily!!!! A l'annee prochaine...will try it again in 2015"

  • "In the midst of the surrounding multi-national chains of Lowe's and Town Center is this small husband and wife bistro. We were very surprised to get a reservation for a Sat. night on one of the city's most crowded weekends and even more surprised to find the restaurant almost empty. But soon we learned that the couple who opened it had only started serving dinner a few weeks before. We actually heard their whole story and more as the husband waiter and wife chef visited our table several times to chat between courses. The food was remarkable, very fresh, simple, tasty and heartfelt. The chef's French heritage is evident and the couple's passionate enthusiasm for their enterprise is impressive."

This restaurant is quite new. However there was not any of the startup glitches that normally might best a new venture. The owners are experienced restaurateurs from Bethesda, Md"

  • "my wife and I heard about Annie's from a golfing buddy and decided to try. When we arrived on sat night we were one of two tables. We ordered dinner and appetizers from a somewhat limited menu. We were very happy with all of our food. The dishes were delicious and authentic . They had additional specials that we tried as well. We will definitely go back ."

  • "A very formal ambience, with attentive service. Well prepared food which is reminiscent of a small French bistro. Although the wine list is limited, the wines were thoughtfully selected and provided affordable options to accompany the meal. All in all, a very enjoyable evening with good French food."
