Diner Reviews
  • "Anna's Ristorante is located across from the Summit train station. Excellent Italian cuisine at reasonable prices. A limited liquor license with a very nice and reasonably priced wine selection. Attentive service."

  • "We always go to Anna's for family get togethers, and she never disappoints. Our favorites are nori tuna and Anna's lasagne. We also enjoyed the dessert sampler."

  • "My girlfriend and I ate dinner recently at Anna's Ristorante with my sister and we all had a great time with good food. Perfect place to bring family and friends for dinner. Would definitely recommend it to anyone in the area."

  • "The service was great everyone was friendly, and the bus boys were funny real cool guys, they waited until my date and I were done to close up. I love Anna's because of it good food and great location, away from the madness and the traffic. Always will be a place I would tell my friends to go. Thanks!"

  • "Good food, good service. When we need a place to go this is one of our go to places. I enjoyed the mixed baby greens salad with Gorgonzola and the salmon digonaise."

  • "While everyone there seems snooty and aggravated, it has good food. They tend to rush you, second visit we ordered our food one course at a time They do not charge a corkage fee and they also serve wines. Service without a smile, however very good."

  • "We enjoyed a fantastic dinner on the patio. The food was fresh, and the chef was adaptive. Our daughter had food constraints, and the chef reworked the dish to give her a good meal without the offending ingredient. Service was attentive without being overwhelming."

  • "We ate outdoors - food was good and was a short walk from the Summit Train Station"

  • "We went there for the 2nd time on a Saturday night after having a great meal a few months ago. While the food was very good and the service quick, the waiter seemed indifferent and disinterested. Although I was told I would be charged extra, I was very surprised to be charged $4.95 extra (on a $21.95 pasta dish) to substitute whole wheat linguini in my dish - despite the fact that Anna's boasts a healthy food section of their menu with several whole wheat pastas available and an extensive Gluten-free menu. Was also surprised to see the restaurant empty at 10 pm on a Saturday night but perhaps they now get an earlier crowd. Several other restaurants on the street and around the corner seemed much more active."

  • "Casual..good for our girls night out. Quiet enough for us to chat. Interesting fusion of foods, not traditional Italian. Good service "

  • "We made a reservation to celebrate Mother's Day and 2 birthdays. Due to some traffic, we pushed the reservation back 30min, which they accommodated with no issue. However, when we arrived, we were sat in a section apparently being served by the manager vs. the regular waitstaff (usually pretty good). He rushed us through the entire meal - from taking drink orders even before we sat down, to ordering the meal (my husband had to shout his salad order across the room because he bolted so fast), to clearing empty glasses without asking about refills. He even hovered & took the check 1min after it was signed. Understandable if they were busy, but there were at least 8 open tables. Used to be our go-to place for holidays...not anymore."

  • "I made the reservation just 2 hour prior and lucky to get a 7:30. I brought my own wine which you can but ordered a bottle from there list. They are allowed to serve bottles but not wine by glass. The calamari was tender and not greasy. I had a chicken special and chicken was moist and flavorful, (most place I do not order chicken because it tends to be very dry). I will return and try other dishes."

  • "This restaurant has one of the most extensive gluten free menus i have seen, and is one of the friendliest and most accommodating staff. They are all warm and welcoming, and the manager completely aims to please - makes you feel like family. The food is truly excellent on its own, fresh and so well prepared, plus the chef will provide any change requested. Anna's provides high end quality food and service, without any of the pretense. Great for families, and large groups! "

  • "Anna's always has excellent & surprising specials along with their usual outstanding selections. A menu filled with variety, and each and every choice is done superbly."

  • "Beautiful indoor & out. Comfy seating! Desserts- chocolate flour less cake, cheesecake & tiramisu were delicious... Like all the goodies at Bovella's in Westfield. It is a BYO but, you can buy wine & sangria there! Beet salad was good. Chicken Murphy was way too hot. Waiter should have warned us. Shrimp scampi sauce was a bit tasteless. We lingered after dessert & finished our wine, almost last to leave. *Free street parking after 6pm "

  • "Dinner was terrific. Easy to recommend. Made a reservation and was seated immediately on arrival. Very busy place, but service was on time and efficient. No rushing."

  • "My first and second visit to this restaurant went well. The third visit, on the other hand, did not. My party of four ordered dinner at 7:15 this Saturday night and did not receive it until around 8:15. The food is slightly above average, but not worth the wait when it is crowded."

  • "Food and service were outstanding. We even were interrupted by a fire drill before we ordered but once we got back in everything was seamless. Food was great, service excellent. Would definitely go back!"

  • "We were seated promplly away from loud large and raucous tables but not far enough. After an hour wait the food had not yet come. Then mercifully the fire alarm system was activated and the entire restaurant was evacuated. We did not return. Deus ex machina?"

  • "I was pleasantly surprised. I went when it was Brix 67 and it was good but Anna's is better. I was happy to see the kitchen was now closed and the dining room though a bit close created a nice atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves as I looked around. I ordered a fish dish that was a little overdone for my taste but my husbands lasagna was delicious! The menu had a nice variety. I had trouble choosing. The cheeses appetizer was great! It had a nice selection to choose from. They also had a small wine list of CA wines even though its a BYOB. Serves by the bottle or half bottle only. I will definitely go back and try what they have. It might even be nice to just go in for wine and cheese! :)"

  • "I have eaten here before so we thought we would go back. The food is very good & thats where it ends. The service is poor . The hostess had an attitude from the moment we walked in. It is BYOB , but you can purchase wine by the bottle or half bottle only."

  • "My husband and I recently met long time friends for dinner at Anna's on a Saturday night. Reservations were made and we were promptly seated. I loved that it was a BYOB. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs. We never felt rushed. In fact we were there for 2 1/2 hours chatting, eating and catching up! We shared a fried Calamari appetizer which was average. We all tasted the Beet Salad which was quite fresh and tasty! All of us enjoyed our entrees which included Chicken Parmigiana, Linguini and Shrimp in a Marinara Sauce, Margherita Chicken and Whole Wheat Penne with Chicken. I would definately recommend ths restaurant."

  • "My husband and I returned to Anna's three weeks after our first time there. This time we brought our aunt who had not been to Anna's before. The food, service, etc. were even better this time - so much so that we will be returning this weekend when both of our children are home from college."

  • "First time going to Anna's and it won't be the last! Wonderful wait staff and very attentive. I had the Veal Saltimboca and it was to die for. The veal was very tender and it had an excellent wine reduction sauce. We will definitely be back."

  • "My wife and I scrambled to find a reservation on a Saturday night in Summit and the only place of interest with availability was Anna's. We were hosting friends and were concerned that we may be in for a let down but we were both pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was lively yet we could maintain a conversation with our guests."

  • "My husband and I tried Anna's Ristorante in Summit the day after Valentine's Day. We both enjoyed it. Parking is not a problem since the Summit parking deck is close by. My husband ordered steak which he likes extremely rare. He is often disappointed since it usually comes out overcooked. However, he said the steak at Anna's was perfect. I had the lasagna which was a bit of a disappointment - lots of meat, sauce and cheese but I had trouble finding any pasta. But, that being said, I would return to try one of the other delicious-sounding dinners on the menu. My husband loved the bisque which was a special and I enjoyed my salad."

  • "Rude hostess set the tone for the night. Asked to make a substitution and they wanted to charge $3. We are talking pasta here. And to boot there was nobody but us in the restaurant. When the dinner did come the pasta tasted like Chef Boyardee. Complete mush. The manager could care less. Didn't bother to come over and apologize or offer to make it right. On top of that, they rushed our dinners as we were not done with our first course and my husband was served his dinner and I had to wait. For mushy pasta. Could not wait to get out of there. Seriously there are so many places in Summit and the surrounding area that I would not waste your money on this place. Overpriced, less than mediocre food"

  • "Just ate at Anna's on a recent Saturday night, great food and a local gem especially on a cold, dreary winter night when you don 't want to have to travel far for a really good dinner. It was busy and lively and the 4 of us all enjoyed our dinners. Their choices are all delicious and the service is relaxing but on top of whatever is needed."

  • "Gave this restaurant a second try. Ordered eggplant parm which was good but came with no side for $17. Never had that happen before. Always comes with side of pasta. Ordered a $13 dessert that was not as described and was awful. Called the caramel apple crunch, was no more than raw apple cut up and thrown iver a small scoopnof icecream with some caramel syrup drizzled over it. Too many other great Italian restaurants in thearea to return here."

  • "This is a nice restaurant with an interesting menu and one of us raved about the burger. Lots of attractive, open space. We all had different choices and liked them. Table clearing was awkward with leaning across and stacking instead of walking around."

  • "We had high hopes but came away totally disappointed. Antipasto salad was bland with what felt like supermarket quality meats. Cheese was boring with mozzarella cheese dry and rubbery. Veal and chicken was nothing to rave about. Mashed potatoes were cold and under seasoned."
