Served in a modern and eclectic setting, the Annapolis Smokehouse is putting a new twist on barbecue. We serve all of the traditional favorites like brisket, ribs and pulled pork with all the sides you expect, plus some items you may not expect like lightly smoked crab cakes, pulled pork pierogies and nachos made with fresh, hand cut potato chips and smoked tomato salsa. We feature daily specials that will push the boundaries of barbecue, while maintaining the traditional standard of meat smoked "low and slow". We look forward to seeing you!Continued

  • "We were surprised how nice the inside was for a BBQ joint. So you know, it's in a strip mall but don't be fooled. It's spacious and nice inside with a good size bar area and some tables outside. It was crowded when we arrived (8:45pm) but seated right away. Waitress came right over, we ordered drinks and appetizers which came in a timely manner. We ordered and were told they were out of Ribs and the 1/2 chicken. You have to get there early because they do run out of things by the end of the night. We were disappointed about the ribs but there was plenty else to order. The Armadillo Egg were great, as was the Brisket, pulled Chicken, and the Pulled pork. Didn't care for the Crab Dip though. We'll definitely go back to try the Ribs."

  • "This is the basic BBQ place, but it is very good for locals. They have a bar, they have booths and outdoor seating. I always have good service and I love their appetizers (especially the wings). The beer list is awesome having local, and seasonal available. It is never very loud, but the atmosphere is somewhat darker (less lighting) than what i would prefer. The only thing I can't comment on is dessert but the meal came out fast and was delicious (I had the beef brisket sandwich), the prices were in the range, and I come here on a regular basis"

  • "A word to the wise: take a sweater with you! We were seated directly below the blower, which made for a breezy-and chilly-dinner. Our meal started with a basket of dense hot hush puppies with honey butter. The locally-made smoked sausages were delicious, and portions were generous. By far my favorite part of the meal were the sautéed Brussels sprouts (really!)...buttery but still crunchy and bright green. The sweet potato mash tasted of Thanksgiving with cinnamon and spices. I'd really like to come back and try some of their interesting-sounding salads. The ambiance was of a sports bar with screens showing World Cup Soccer and baseball. There were several families with children present as well."

  • "Great BBQ Ribs, we will keep going back. My family and friends will keeping coming back for the food and great a very nice place to go to get away from the Annapolis frenzy. "

  • "Good neighborhood find! Enjoyed the food & fast service, wine & beer list. Will return & recommend to others."

  • "I had heard a lot of great things about the restaurant,s food. I took my husband and kids (24 and 22 yrs. old) there for my husband's birthday. It was 6:30 and they were out of pulled pork. My daughter's Cobb salad didn't have any bacon on it and it really was like a toss salad. She was disappointed. There were no types of fries, which you would expect at a smoke house (meat barbecue joint) and the chicken had sauce on it but not that grill, barbecue taste."

  • "The food was great and the atmosphere was relaxed and noisy. We had ribs, brisket, pulled pork and the burger at our table. Everything was great and cooked perfectly."

  • "Simply cutting ribs short does not make them baby back ribs. Finishing with bland sides assure I'll go to the other neighborhood choices for bar-b-que next time."

  • "Nice atmosphere, lots of interesting menu choices. My husband had a half-rack; generous, meaty, well-prepared. One of his sides was "fried corn". Whoever heard of that? Not healthy, but boy, was it good! I had the 1/2 chicken covered in the really terrific bourbon cherry sauce. And most surprising of all: the brussels sprouts were delicious! Properly sautéed, bright green, lightly seasoned. Unbelievably good!"

  • "This was our first time visiting Annapolis Smokehouse. I read the previous reviews, and it came recommended by a colleague. Our results were uneven, producing an overall disappointment for us. I ordered the Smokehouse Sampler with ribs, brisket and Polska kielbasa. My friend ordered a full-rack of ribs. Both of our ribs were delivered cold. He sent his ribs back. They were returned lukewarm. After realizing that his ribs were not cooked all the way through and there was a streak of uncooked fat throughout the rack, he abandoned his dinner. I, on the other hand, was happy with the flavor of my brisket, collard greens and sweet potatoes. The reviewer who said they do everything outside of the entrees really well was spot on."

  • "This was my second visit. Excellent across the board, The onion Rings and crab dip as an appetizer were great. My wife got the pork chops and I the ribs, very, very good. Others in our party got the Shrimp and Grits and they enjoyed them very much. We were a party of 8, and our table was fine, the dining area is not huge, and it can be loud, but that's to be expected. We all enjoyed our meals. This group goes out regularly, and we can eat anywhere we want, and everyone agreed that this was a great pick and that we will be back! Well done."

  • "The food was amazing! Service was great and quick! Kid friendly, couldn't ask for a better experience. In a ok location, the shopping centre is a little questionable but it would not deter me from going back again! Yummy!"

  • "We went here expecting great ribs and beef brisket. Both were overdone and dry. The vegetables were nothing special. However, the hush puppies with honey butter to start were scrumptious as were the onion rings. We were both disappointed, but the place was packed and hopping. Perhaps we picked the wrong things?"

  • "The food was yummy and the prices reasonable given the ample portions. The only drawback to the whole dining experience was that as the restaurant filled with other happy diners, the hard surfaces (floor, walls, ceiling) made it noisy."

  • "My wife and I were sitting around trying to decide where we should go and eat, and we wanted to go to a resturant we had yet to frequent. Made reservations, loaded up the GPS and off we went. Got there to find tons of parking. Went in and we were seated immediately. This was surprising as the place was jammed. The noise level was way up there, but the service was prompt and friendly. The menu offered tough choices as everything sounded so good. They offered a sampler and that is perfect for first timers. The meat fell off the ribs, and the brisket was the best I ever had. We were offered hush-puppies between the appetizers and the entre. All-in-all it was a great experience and we will go there again. I even bought a T-shirt."

  • "Was recommended by a friend, the wings were the best I've ever had. We got them naked and they were fantastic. We were disappointed they ran out of ribs but we did have a 8 o'clock reservation. Settled for the pulled pork which didn't let use down. The food came out quick but the waiter was slow filling drinks, to be expected on a Friday night. All in all a great place for BBQ. We will be returning often and frequent."

  • "We went back to Annapolis Smokehouse last Thursday to have another round of great BBQ and catch one of our favorite local music acts (Swampcandy). It was all great and we'll definitely be back again...and again."

  • "Had a party of six adults. It was difficult to choose what to eat because everything sounded so good. Only bad part was the steak and the chicken strips were little over cooked."

  • "I was visiting from Atlanta and tried the pulled pork sandwich. WOW! Truly the best I've ever had. The Bourbon-Cherry BBQ sauce was super. It was a delightful surprise."

  • "Boy am I happy I found this place! The service was good, the food was incredibly tender and flavorful BBQ (including several signature sauces that were very tasty), and free hush puppies w/honey butter prior to our meals. The prices were slightly higher than a decent chain restaurant (~$30/person), but the portions were large. Two people could split the three meat sampler and accompanying sides ($24)...making this VERY affordable if you know that in advance. I spoke with one of the owners and it turns out they have live music on Thursday nights, too! Bottom line: If you are looking for great BBQ at a place where anything from bluejeans and a nice shirt to a suit or dress would be appropriate attire, this is a great choice."

  • "My wife and I were a little taken aback by the location! We were also very well dressed for the dinning experience, that being said we decided to go in anyway! I'm so glad we did! We pigged out! Lol the food was excellent, the waitress was very nice and lovely! We would definitely return."

  • "... we received our appetizer, the server left and came out with our entrée. She seemed also quite eager to leave, by constantly asking if we needed anything else. I can say I tried it, but sincerely Adams Ribs and Red Hot and Blue had BBQ covered in the Annapolis area"

  • "My boyfriend and I ate there this weekend and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who seated us right away. I ordered the redneck tacos and my boyfriend had the smokehouse sampler and they were both delicious! Everything from the sides to the hush puppies they served as bread was tasty. We definitely plan on coming back to enjoy their bbq cuisine!"

  • "Had Sunday brunch at the Annapolis Smokehouse last week and enjoyed the food, but we had a couple of food allergies in our group and the server was exceedingly unhelpful in finding out what was safe for them to eat. It didn't seem like either she or, more importantly, the chef had any idea what was in the food and weren't interested in trying to help. The breakfast tacos were delicious, but the service left me not wanting to return."

  • "Our second time here - food is delicious. Great ribs and brisket! The armadillo eggs were very spicy but delicious too. Great HH drink prices too! We went early so we could catch a 7 o'clock movie - it was packed when we left So reservations are a good idea."

  • "We chose a barbeque spot to give our taste buds a break from Thankgiving fare. We were pleased with what we found! The pulled pork was delicious. We also enjoyed the variety of barbeque sauces that we had to choose from. Mixing the Apple Honey and Kansas City barbeque sauces was the Perfect combination! Our server was pleasant, but did not seem very genuine. Nonetheless, it was Good dining experience, and we would definitely go back."

  • "Excellent food & service -- as usual! Moreover, the music by Sweet Leda was very good, too (albeit a bit on the loud side)."

  • "My review would probably have a higher rating had we been greeted by our server immediately, as opposed to 27 minutes after we'd been seated. The meal was okay (I order the more expensive salmon) which was a but mushy on the edges and was RIDICULOUSLY bland. I literally had to add the Honey Apple BBQ sauce to eat it. The atmosphere was that of a neighborhood bar so a date night is out of the question for this spot."

  • "My husband is from Texas and gives their BBQ very high marks. I love their brisket. It is very moist and tender; no sauce required. Our friend ordered the half-chicken and gave it a big thumbs up. The only downside to eating here is the noise level, which is not conducive to dinnertime conversation."

  • "The Annapolis Smokehouse has an amazing menu - everything I have had has been excellent. They smoke their meats, whether it's the Brisket, Pork or Chicken, their meats are marinated and then smoked. Fabulous!"

  • "Not too pricey and great food. Bar was a little noisy but it was Friday night. Nice tables outside for families. We had the armadillo balls to start-they're amazing if you like spicy food. Tacos were great and also loved the salmon. Our server, Kim, was outstanding. Well be back!"
