Anis Cafe and BistroDelightful ExperienceFood was terrific and, on a busy night, service was spot on. Will be back again soon. Outdoor area is great; lively atmosphere.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNever fails to please.Love Anis, Arnaud and All!
Been going here for years - lunch, dinner, holidays. Consistently wonderful.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a hot dayThe food, service, etc was very good and I'd recommend Anis. The day I was at Anis it was very hot and so having some fans in the front space where I was seated would have been appreciated. Just a little air movement would have made a difference.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful EveningWe all loved the coziness and French decor of Anis for a family birthday celebration. My husband and son both thought the filets were excellent. My daughter and I loved our seafood meals and the bread was delicious! Our server was very attentive, recommended a great wine and surprised us with a birthday dessert. We can't wait to return to Anis.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNice food, convenient locationThe location of Anís is unbeatable...walking distance from work! We were a medium sized group and we were easily accommodated. Most of us followed one of the recommendations of the day -artichoke and mushrooms quiche- and it was very good and a generous portion. The freshly and warm baked bread was great also. To finish some of us order desserts to share (chocolate mousse, creme brûlée) and some were about to order more...it was difficult to share :)6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect Sunday BrunchTook my sister (celebrating her birthday) and nieces here Sunday for brunch. Sat outside on the restaurant's lovely outdoor patio (covered). Cozy and very charming. There is also indoor seating, but didn't make it inside to take a look. Waiter brought an overflowing basket of bread to our table, so we didn't order any croissants. Between the six of us, we ordered Nutella crepes, mussels, two different omelets, chicken salad sandwich and eggs & sausage. Clean plates at the end, plus the waiter brought my sister a very sweet dessert sampler in honor of her birthday. Would love to go back and try their dinner menu sometime. Oh, yeah, great coffee, too. Any they offer valet parking. Dogs ok on patio. Perfect place for our Girls Day Out.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMBithday celebration...for a person mid 90's. The many details were well handled, great food and drink, with a special birthday treat.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious...We celebrated a birthday with seven ladies, and everyone loved their meal. Five of us had the Swordfish (special of the day) with crab and yellow tomato salad, and we all loved our meal. One had the the trout and cleaned her plate, and another had the shrimp over rice and said it was delicious. Since celebrating a birthday, we had to share desserts, which included flourless chocolate cake, which was very light and fluffy, cream brulee, and the special sorbet, and all were fabulous. I always enjoy the ambiance of Anis; dining there, whether lunch or dinner, is always a special treat.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMRelaxedWe have a wonderful meal in a relaxed setting. Service was very good too.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful and DeliciousOne of our favorites...delicious , fun, charming, great service!!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMwe have never had a bad experienceThe atmosphere is casual but the food is great. We have been here many times and love it every time we visit. The service is good but not intrusive, the music is not too loud and it's REALLY good. (If you're looking for a dance band, this is not the place, but the musicians are great.)5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousLove this restaurant. The only thing that would have made the ambiance better is if they had music. We sat outside, it was beautiful, the food was delicious.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMNeighborhood gemGreat French bistro hidden in buckhead. Delicious mussels and pommes frites. No need for ketchup, dip those fries in the garlic wine sauce. Dangerously addictive. Great service - very upbeat and positive. Love the eclectic crowd. Trout was delicious and swordfish portion was enormous, though a tad overcooked (I don't remember saying well done). We will be back soon!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA little bit of France in BuckheadThis was our first visit but will not be our last. We were encouraged to go by friends who had moved to Atlanta from Paris -- "It is our canteen," they said. We were not the least bit disappointed. The cocktails and wines were terrific, the arugula salad was the best I had ever had, and the trout meuniere was prepared absolutely perfectly, and the latticed patio was charming. Will definitely return soon.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently excellent!I have dined at Anis now 3 times in the past 6 months and it has proven to be a consistently excellent experience. I have taken several others there for their first time and they really enjoyed it. Though everything from service to ambiance to food is great, I mostly choose this restaurant when I want to have a relaxing dining experience not just eat food. The service is particularly accommodating to suit your needs from a more leisurely meal to something quicker.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA little bit of France in AtlantaI really like Anis- I love the atmosphere of the little bar, I like the wait staff. the location, the outdoor and the indoor dining rooms and I love the food - I have never been disappointed . I think the food is wonderful!! No matter who I take or when I go it is consistent and everyone enjoys the evening. It is memorable.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMConfidenceI bring good friends here for lunch and dinner, and they do the same. Confidence is contagious5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMStill my favorite restaurant !Anis Cafe and Bistro is still my favorite place in Atlanta. The food is superb with just the right touch of French aromatic spices (no frou frou food here), the atmosphere is loud but just like you'd get in a cafe in France with friends enjoying food and wine, and I love how Arnaud's staff takes care of you no matter how many are at your table. It really is a touch of France in Buckhead. My birthday celebration was the best the other night! Ooh la la Anis!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMC'est magnifique!!!!Anis just gets better and better. We were delighted at how great the food was and we always feel so warm and embraced when we are there. Everyone seems to be so happy in this wonderful space and one feels lifted out of their day to day life into a reverie of delectable french fare, joyful ambiance, and communal friendship. Cafe Anis is a rare find in Atlanta!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Great NightThis is a great restaurant. The food and service are always outstanding. My girlfriend and I have made this our place for special occasions because of the "feel" we get when we are there. The staff is outstanding and always very pleasant.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dinnerNot a real "foodie" but our dinner was wonderful. We had mussels and I I had the evening special - Mahi mahi. My husband had the duck. Delicious meal. My only negative was that we were sitting right by the street/parking lot outside.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AManis bistrowonderful place, quaint, excellent food, ambience is great.
the only negative is its tight quarters, which is a minor concern5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming French RestaurantMy husband and I love French food and were completely charmed by this place. It's great for a date night.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner on Mother's DayMy family took me to dinner at Anis for Mother's Day and it could not have been better! The food was outstanding, as well as the service! Thanks!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day LuncheonWe made our reservation and almost changed it when Anis called to be sure we knew that on Mother's Day they served a buffet and not a regular menu. We took a chance (I'm not a lover of buffet service as I feel the food is usually mass produced). We were not disappointed! The qualifty of the food coupled with a broad offering of choices made this a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The seared tuna was so wonderful and as we lingered among the last diners the server brought dessert to our table so we wouldn't miss out. The chef's delivery of some home made white chocolate pralines was especially appreciated!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a birthday lunch forWe had a birthday lunch for 4 friends and it was delightful. The complimentary dessert was divine.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways charmingWent for an early Mothers Day celebration. A thunderstorm made the patio a bit slushy and humid, but the staff still managed to make it a special occasion. I love their patio and evidently lots of others do too - it was packed.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMQuaint atmosphere, tasty appetizersAnis is a small but charming French restaurant serving brunch, lunch, and dinner. The appetizers are delicious and the service is very attentive. A complimentary valet is available in the evenings during dinner hours. I actually enjoyed the bread and appetizers so much that I did not order an entree. Dessert and cappuccino is a good way to cap off the delightful dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to others.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMToujours un plaisirThis was a other pleasant evening of food and friends. As the weather was dreadful the outside area was a bit drafty, the staff was very accommodating in moving our party. The food and wine were wonderful as usual. This is one of our favorite little gems to share with out-of-towners or new friends.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceWe enjoyed the charcuterie plate, and the waiter was nice enough to add some cheese. The pate was a little dry, but the cheeses/meats were delicious.
I ordered the duck confit and the portion was larger than expected, not oily, and excellent. Loved it. My friend ordered the lamb chops and they were equally delicious.
My only complaint would be the high noise level inside and unruly children at the next table.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEven on a rainy and chillyEven on a rainy and chilly early May night in Georgia, the food, wine list, service, ambiance was a welcomed dining experience.
The relaxed atmosphere and ability to talk at your table without raising your voice makes the meal that much more enjoyable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLots to likeAnis is on a quiet residential street with trees and older homes, so there are no jangling lights and loud noises. It is peaceful with a delightfully quirky décor. Valet parking is a definite plus. Though not a food connoisseur, I know what I like. Each meal I have had has been a taste treat. The service is outstanding. Wait staff is attentive without being overbearing. They do not rush to take your plates away, leaving the slower diner to eat with only their plate on the table. For especially important occasions when I want everyone in my party to enjoy dinner, Anis is my restaurant of choice.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat MenuThere were so many dishes on the menu that appealed to me, I had a hard time deciding! I settled on salmon and was very pleased. Service was prompt and attentive.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMUnique......is how I'd describe Anis with its' comfortable patio and intimate bar and indoor dining room. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was truly outstanding.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderful !Make sure you order the mussels and fries !
Tomato tartare is to die for as are the lamb chops.
I've never had a bad meal.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMNice little French bistroNice little French bistro with an eclectic decor. Food and service were very good. I would say that it is a bit pricey.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place never disappoints! This place never disappoints! Five of us dined on various entrees and everyone raved about their choice. My personal favorite is the lamb, but have also had fish specials that are delicious!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat For Lunch, As UsualAs usual, Anis was a wonderful, comfortable and reasonably priced place for lunch. A piece of the French countryside in Buckhead.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Anis, great food andLove Anis, great food and the service is fabulous!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this oneAnis is remarkable for its authentic French bistro food, wonderful wine list, friendly service and its ambiance. It was a golden find for us in Atlanta. The Wednesday evening was very busy but we had no trouble getting a reservation via Open Table. There is an old Deux Chevaux parked next to an extended covered dining patio that is very popular. The food is fresh, prepared to order and done properly -- the trout menuiere was flawless in execution, as was the roasted salmon. A concise wine list nonetheless has solid choices from each region of France. Our dessert -- a blueberry basil sorbet that capped a memorable evening -- was the final surprise. When we find ourselves in Atlanta again, we'll be back.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter was great - veryOur waiter was great - very friendly and accommodating. Introduced our friends who were similarly impressed.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFrench, simple, sweet. LoveFrench, simple, sweet. Love Anis. Wonderful neighborhood atmosphere. Never rushed. Food is a cut above and always satisfying. It never disappoints.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI've eaten in France: thisI've eaten in France: this is authentic food in a cozy, somehow quintessentially French atmosphere.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming French restaurantWonderful, charming French restaurant! Wish we had one like it in our hometown of Louisville. The menu was creative and exciting, so many choices, made ordering a tough decision, and our food lived up to expectations. Quirky delightful atmosphere.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial FindI loved it! Delicious octopus carpacio (rare find), wonderful mussels. We all loved our meal. Brought 2 seven year olds and the kids pasta they brought was not the ordinary. Lovely light fresh tomato sauce and they added spinich to it. Lots of wonderful seafood choices. My husband loved his trout. the stacked roasted tomato salad with fresh mozzarella was not only a wonderful presentation but was very flavorful and unique. Server is a foodie/knowledgable, excellent and very attentive. I would go back in a heart beat. YUMMY!! I am rarely happy with my restaurant meals but this one was memorable.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ambiance and menu areThe ambiance and menu are fabulous. Great wine list. It manages to be bustling and busy at the same time as intimate and romantic. Live music two nights a week is major bonus. I will visit again!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant.
