The menu is deeply rooted in the ingredients and aromas that give dishes from the French Mediterranean region their unique flavors.

Anis is comprised of an inside dining room and an outside patio area that is available for seating year round, and a charming little bar where you may enjoy a meal if you wish.

Widely known as one of the most romantic dining spots in the city, Anis is a great place to meet up with friends and can cater to large parties with ease.

Reservations are accepted and encouraged.

Join us for live Brazilian jazz on Thursday and Friday evenings.

  • "One of my favorite restaurants! Great ambiance, love dining al fresco. Food is fresh and delicious."

  • "We had a wonderful time as always. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent as always."

  • "Anis Café has added way too many tables recently and it is way too noisy"

  • "I hesitate writing this because I don't want to cut off my ability to get reservations here in the future. This has been our go-to neighborhood spot for over 10 years and it never disappoints. The food, the porch, the wine, and living in the neighborhood helps. Try the muscles. Or the lamb. Or the fish. Or the...."

  • "The food is not as good as it was two or three years ago."

  • "Anis never lets me down. This time, I took my 87 year old neighbor there for her birthday lunch and it was perfect. For one thing, the accessibility for someone with mobility issues (like my neighbor) is fantastic. Also, the valet who parked our car was incredibly helpful with my friend and treated her like he would his own mother. As always, the food, service and ambiance were lovely. Don't ever leave Anis!!"

  • "Anis has been my favorite restaurant in Atlanta since they opened. It's the only place in town where, if I close my eyes, I can almost believe I'm actually in a cozy restaurant in France. Being a Francophile, this is heaven. The food, wine, and staff, never disappoint. And now, it is also my grown daughters' favorite as well. We celebrate our lives' milestones at Anis. Thank you to Anis for the consistency and dependability they provide as it's always the best, no exceptions. In a world where quality comes and goes, Anis always delivers. Bien fait, toujours!"

  • "We have been dining at Anis for years, and have never been disappointed. Arnaud Michel is a terrific host and has a superb menu, French-inspired, of course. Anis attracts an energetic, fun crowd of all ages, which makes it even more special. The mussels are always a favorite; salmon on a bed of risotto, same; an appetizer special on a recent evening was lobster bisque, sublime. If I could give it six stars, I would. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We like this restaurant and the food was great as always particularly the trout entrée and the crème Brule. Our waiter however had a case of tunnel vision and was not available when needed but on the other hand had no compunction in interrupting dinner conversation."

  • "I went to Anis for business and everyone loves it. I brought my foodie group there and it was excellent. People always ask me to go back there and I never get bored to go either. For lunch they have excellent suggestions for rapid service."

  • "5 of us went for Sunday lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was perfect in every respect: service, food, outside ambiance."
    Dined on 8/3/2014
  • "This is a great place for outside dining! The patio is a bit tight, with lots of tables, but it still felt intimate. The food and wine were absolutely delicious. I took my boyfriend for his 40th birthday and he loved it. We will definitely return for dinner and to try their brunch!"

  • "Went here for our second date. It was lively enough to be fun but not too crazy. Food was excellent and the wine list was reasonable. I would definitely like the check out the brunch."

  • "We have always had a wonderful experience-service and food wise. Our apps arrived on time. We waited over an hour for our entrees after our app dishes were cleared. Everyone around us (who arrived after us) finished their entrees before we got ours. Our waitress did comp us sorbet and apologized."

  • "2nd time trying Anis. Last time the moules marinieres were horrible. A very basic French dish and it tasted like mussels in milk. Lacked white wine, shallots, parsley and the essential ingredients. This time the fish of the day was an over cooked grouper that was tough as leather which topped the chefs inspiration. The concoction was cut fingerling potatoes and cubes of sweet potatoes, lettuce greens and a few other mystery minced items tossed in a vinaigrette served cold beneath the hot fish. It was forgettable and un complimentary accompaniment with the fish. And definitely not a light summer dish with the multiple types of potato."

  • "The food was really good and we enjoyed the entire evening."

  • "Wonderful place to dine as always overall. Their bread is great, but the butter was too hard. The calamari appetizer is okay, but we've definitely had better. I especially liked my salad Maison and my salmon entrée, and my guest said she liked her lamb special, but only ate half of it. We had a very good bottle of wine recommended by our waitress."

  • "Anis is an outstanding French bistro. Best mussels ever! along with an amazing choice of delicious main courses. Authentic French cuisine."

  • "Overall our experience at Ani's could be described with one word: AMAZING! The food was delicious, I had the grilled steak, my girlfriend had the trout and we shared mussels (best mussels ever!) and a cake for dessert. Also all nicely paired with chardonnay. Every single staff member was friendly and our server Justin was very attentive to our table. The restaurant was nicely decorated. I'd go back in a heartbeat!"

  • "Another great meal, great time at Anis! We love this neighborhood hidden gem, especially for a special occasion. Vibrant scene yet quiet enough to enjoy one another and a fine meal. Very consistent, great service."

  • "A favorite spot for meeting business friends. Menu keeps some delicious standards but also introduces new delights and there are plenty of healthy salad options. Crab salad sandwich on brioche this week was excellent. The challenge of lunch at Anis is choosing which plat to order. The patio is an oasis in Buckhead and the people watching is part of the fun. Prices are extremely reasonable."

  • "The whole experience was wonderful, and the swordfish was the best I have ever had! The service was excellent and personal--a very pleasant evening altogether. Thank you."

  • "Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We had a seat inside but their outside seatings look also pretty. It was a little too noisy due to a group of several people staffing around the table near our seat. Food was good. Not superb. Octopus salad was fresh and yummy. Shortrib was it favorite of the night. Recommended! I'll come back to try other dishes and their wine list."

  • "When you get the urge for authentic French bistro cuisine, Anis fits the bill. Lunch is perfect at this restaurant from the Salad Nicoise to the Pom frites, it hits all the right notes."
    Dined on 7/23/2014
  • "Anis is always a good meal, nice wine. a cool, funky place. It is easy to get too for Buckhead folks. Mussels are great and most everything else. Service is always correctly done.."

  • "The food, wine, and atmosphere at Anis always transport me back to the French countryside. Parfait!"

  • "We love your restaurant and its a regular in our rotation, but there were two things that were very disappointing at our last meal that I feel compelled to report. The bread was mediocre and the bread pudding dried out and tasteless. Everything else was great so it didn't ruin the meal but it was bad enough for me to take the time to report it to you. The waitress really didn't handle the situation very well either. First she tells us that they usually bring the crusty bread instead of the hard tasteless rolls with the mussels after we've finished our mussels with the rolls. She should have noticed that someone brought the lousy bread. Secondly, she didn't even ask about the dessert even though I took 2 bites and left the rest for pigeons"

  • "We've eaten at Anis several times and the food has been consistently superb and the service excellent. We like the relaxed and genuinely French ambiance."

  • "We love Anis and usually celebrate my Birthday "July 14th" at Anis. Since July 14th is Bastille Day in France; Anis always has a celebration on this day. Special menu, Music, and lively atmosphere. We enjoyed the Escargot as an appetizer and the Monk fish special and everything was delicious."
    Dined on 7/14/2014
  • "Filet was tender and nice thick cut. Small. 6 oz. potatoes were average and on dry side. Flour less chocolate cake was horrid. Cute french feel. Simple."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "Very good food, good service but would sit outside next time. It is way too noisy on the inside."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "Everything was wonderful. Loved the red wine choice, and food was inventive and delish. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly. Manager awesome. We won't miss this when in Atlanta, even though there were lots of seen-and-be-seen types around. It made people watching entertaining!"
    Dined on 7/11/2014
  • "Both lovely and edgy, this place beats almost any restaurant in Atlanta for unique dishes and expert service. A must for foodies and lovers..."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "The room was decorated with mismatched furniture that some would describe as quaint. The tables were much too close together making conversation almost impossible. When the room filled the service slowed to a snail's pace. We waited over 15 minutes to receive our check. The wine list was ok with many decent wines priced in the $40s."
