A word from Anis Cafe and Bistro
Tucked away in a sleepy side street in the heart of Buckhead, Anis is located in a converted house that has been renovated to look and feel like one of many little charming restaurants that you are likely to find in the Provence region in the south of France.

The menu is deeply rooted in the ingredients and aromas that give dishes from the French Mediterranean region their unique flavors.

Anis is comprised of an inside dining room and an outside patio area that is available for seating year round, and a charming little bar where you may enjoy a meal if you wish.

Widely known as one of the most romantic dining spots in the city, Anis is a great place to meet up with friends and can cater to large parties with ease.

Reservations are accepted and encouraged.

Join us for live Brazilian jazz on Thursday and Friday evenings.

This is my third visit to this restaurant and each time seems better than the last . The food items and presentation are exactly what the mind imagines when one thinks "French Bistro" . The pride of the owners is obvious in the quality of the food and in the presentation.

Great food and fabulous ambiance as always. We had the mussels, which were absolutely amazing, the Arnorl salad, which was refreshing and very well done (excellent and mild vinaigrette), and the trout was fantastic.

Anis is one of our favorite restaurants. In cooler times, like now, the "outside dining" is really an outside patio enclosed with see-through, drop-down plastic walls and enough heat to make a comfortable room. The food is great, the service is great. And, this evening, there was a terrific trio playing in the corner of the outside room. Great music and, as important, exactly the right sound level that allowed for conversation. An all-around winner!

Had not been to Anis in several years. I was very disappointed in the salmon with risotto. Risotto was not properly cooked and tasted strongly of white wine...not worth the calories to eat. Service was nice and friendly...and it was pleasantly quiet so conversations could be heard. It was nice to be in a Buckhead restaurant without an attitude...but the meal made me not want to go back.

Anis has been a favorite for "just lunch" or special evenings out. This last visit was with out-of-town friends and it was quite disappointing. I claimed that everything on the menu was delicious. We started with escargots and mussels. The escargots were not hot, nor were they flavorful; the mussels were "sandy" and a thorough disappointment from the last time we had devoured them. The waiter was not attentive to our wine pouring. He did not check with us to see how each one's oredered dish was. He did not present or explain the specials for the evening. My choice of a beef dish arrived as the truite meuniere. I accepted that - no fuss- because that is a favorite of mine, but I had thought I would try something different that evening. Our guests were underwhelmed.

Absolutely top of my list, I can always count on Anis for a memorable meal. Lunch or dinner, the food tastes spectacular and is reminiscent of authentic Parisian cuisine. We had a group on this trip, and enjoyed the mussels appetizer (enough for four), and a variety of entrees including the steak, salmon and trout as well as some childrens' fare. The chocolate mousse and the flourless chocolate cake made for a sweet finish and made the birthday celebration complete. I'd like to go back on Thursday or Friday when they have live music. I always feel welcome at Anis. It is never pretentious; rather it recreates an atmosphere that I long to revisit. Make reservations, especially for weekend dinners.

Our third trip to Anis Cafe & Bistro matched our expectations, which were high after our first two visits. Melissa was our knowledgable and friendly server. Anis cafe and bistro is always an enjoyable place to have a great meal. It's French food with the benefits of the American service we have learned to expect in the better restaurants. The staff is wonderfull and even with the restaurant filled the noise level stays to the point that you can still have a normal conversation. I would highly recommend Anis cafe and Bistro for a romantic diner but also with a (small) group

Enjoyed the ambience - warm, eclectic, inviting. The tuna in the Salad Nicoise was perfectly prepared. The three cheese quiche was flat rather than rich and fluffy and had a disappointing crust unlike the quiche we had at this restaurant on a previous visit. The bread was divine, chewy center, perfect crust and taste. The salads were freshly prepared without being over-dressed. Sadly, the service was poor. After our meals were delivered and we had finished the meal, more than 20 minutes went by - never saw our server again and had to seek out the check. Maybe it was an off day. :) I would try again and hope for the best.

I love this charming spot. The knowledgeable servers are attentive but not overbearing. The wine & food menus provide arrays of interesting but not overly complex options. The food is tasty but it's the relaxed, festive atmosphere of the covered patio I love most. Everything comes together perfectly. I often celebrate special events here & will continue to.

Simply put, the food greatly disappointed. The Mussels were no bigger than my pinkie fingernail. The sauce for them lacking. My date and I ordered the salmon medium rare and seared. Both were well over cooked and nowhere near the requested temperature. The server asked us about our meals before we had even tasted them but didn't come come back to check after we had started eating. The server really didnt respond when we commented on the mussels and didn't check on whether the salmon had been cooked correctly. This was a a second date and the Bill was over $280 with tax and tip. Given everything, the my date and I found the food and experience greatly disappointing. and our two dining companions were underwhelmed as well.

My husband had never dined here. It was a lively atmosphere with super food and our waitress was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. We had the mussels to start with and they were 1st class. My husband had the pork special and I had the the veal steak. Both dishes were cooked as requested and delicious. We will definitely return very soon.

Food delivery was much too fast-paced. Did not mind getting the appetizer within 2 minutes of ordering, but the entrée came just as the appetizer plates were being whisked away. This is not the FRENCH way. We need time to breath between courses. We noted that everyone received the same super-fast service. Seems like you're trying to rush through as many seatings as possible rather than allowing customers a chance to enjoy themselves. That may make good money-making sense but it won't endear you to hard core diners (vice eaters).

I have lunch or dinner at Anis at least six times a year with a very good friend. We always pick Anis because of the wonder food, service and location. We enjoy eating both inside and outside. On this last visit we ended up staying quite a long time and never got the feeling that the restaurant or our server were in a hurry to turn our table; that is another reason we like Anis. I have never had a bad meal and try to eat something different every time although the mussels are "to die for"!
