Anis Cafe and BistroDinner on Mother's DayMy family took me to dinner at Anis for Mother's Day and it could not have been better! The food was outstanding, as well as the service! Thanks!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day LuncheonWe made our reservation and almost changed it when Anis called to be sure we knew that on Mother's Day they served a buffet and not a regular menu. We took a chance (I'm not a lover of buffet service as I feel the food is usually mass produced). We were not disappointed! The qualifty of the food coupled with a broad offering of choices made this a lovely way to spend an afternoon. The seared tuna was so wonderful and as we lingered among the last diners the server brought dessert to our table so we wouldn't miss out. The chef's delivery of some home made white chocolate pralines was especially appreciated!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a birthday lunch forWe had a birthday lunch for 4 friends and it was delightful. The complimentary dessert was divine.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMQuaint atmosphere, tasty appetizersAnis is a small but charming French restaurant serving brunch, lunch, and dinner. The appetizers are delicious and the service is very attentive. A complimentary valet is available in the evenings during dinner hours. I actually enjoyed the bread and appetizers so much that I did not order an entree. Dessert and cappuccino is a good way to cap off the delightful dinner. I would recommend this restaurant to others.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEven on a rainy and chillyEven on a rainy and chilly early May night in Georgia, the food, wine list, service, ambiance was a welcomed dining experience.
The relaxed atmosphere and ability to talk at your table without raising your voice makes the meal that much more enjoyable.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMToujours un plaisirThis was a other pleasant evening of food and friends. As the weather was dreadful the outside area was a bit drafty, the staff was very accommodating in moving our party. The food and wine were wonderful as usual. This is one of our favorite little gems to share with out-of-towners or new friends.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLots to likeAnis is on a quiet residential street with trees and older homes, so there are no jangling lights and loud noises. It is peaceful with a delightfully quirky décor. Valet parking is a definite plus. Though not a food connoisseur, I know what I like. Each meal I have had has been a taste treat. The service is outstanding. Wait staff is attentive without being overbearing. They do not rush to take your plates away, leaving the slower diner to eat with only their plate on the table. For especially important occasions when I want everyone in my party to enjoy dinner, Anis is my restaurant of choice.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat MenuThere were so many dishes on the menu that appealed to me, I had a hard time deciding! I settled on salmon and was very pleased. Service was prompt and attentive.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMVery quaint outdoor seatingVery quaint outdoor seating with patio. My personal favorite is the lamb, but have also had fish specials that are delicious!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat For Lunch, As UsualAs usual, Anis was a wonderful, comfortable and reasonably priced place for lunch. A piece of the French countryside in Buckhead.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMSo quaintLove this lovely quaint spot for lunch and dinner. Brunch menu is limited but doesn't matter because ambiance and service is GREAT!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLove Anis, great food andLove Anis, great food and the service is fabulous!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't miss this oneAnis is remarkable for its authentic French bistro food, wonderful wine list, friendly service and its ambiance. It was a golden find for us in Atlanta. The Wednesday evening was very busy but we had no trouble getting a reservation via Open Table. There is an old Deux Chevaux parked next to an extended covered dining patio that is very popular. The food is fresh, prepared to order and done properly -- the trout menuiere was flawless in execution, as was the roasted salmon. A concise wine list nonetheless has solid choices from each region of France. Our dessert -- a blueberry basil sorbet that capped a memorable evening -- was the final surprise. When we find ourselves in Atlanta again, we'll be back.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOur waiter was great - veryOur waiter was great - very friendly and accommodating. It never disappoints.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI've eaten in France: thisI've eaten in France: this is authentic food in a cozy, somehow quintessentially French atmosphere.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCharming French restaurantWonderful, charming French restaurant! Wish we had one like it in our hometown of Louisville. The menu was creative and exciting, so many choices, made ordering a tough decision, and our food lived up to expectations. Quirky delightful atmosphere.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe wait for our reservationThe wait for our reservation was only 10 min, but the bar area consisted of 6 seats. It seemed the majority of the people there had to wait which was problematic.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial FindI loved it! Delicious octopus carpacio (rare find), wonderful mussels. We all loved our meal. Brought 2 seven year olds and the kids pasta they brought was not the ordinary. Lovely light fresh tomato sauce and they added spinich to it. Lots of wonderful seafood choices. My husband loved his trout. the stacked roasted tomato salad with fresh mozzarella was not only a wonderful presentation but was very flavorful and unique. Server is a foodie/knowledgable, excellent and very attentive. I would go back in a heart beat. YUMMY!! I am rarely happy with my restaurant meals but this one was memorable.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ambiance and menu areThe ambiance and menu are fabulous. Great wine list. It manages to be bustling and busy at the same time as intimate and romantic. Live music two nights a week is major bonus. I will visit again!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant. UnusuallyGreat restaurant. Unusually crowded last Saturday.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMVery nice indeed! My friendsVery nice indeed! My friends loved it and will certainly come back.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWhimsical FrenchMy husband and I tried this for the first time during Buckhead restaurant week. We were half an hour late for our reservation, but told by Arnaud, that we were right on time. The decor was whimsical, somewhere between European village and Alice and Wonderland. The owner Arnaud takes the time to seat every table, which is a really nice touch.
Our server Veronica was attentive without being overbearing. Our food was delicious. He had Merguez sausage and a Salmon entree, with Roquefort risotto. I had the mussels with garlic cream and duck confit for an entree. Throughout the meal there was a pleasant hum of conversation and bustle of activity. We will definitely return. We were thinking Sunday Brunch with our 5 year old.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMVery charming eating place!Very charming eating place! Food was good and service excellent!! Will return to try other food in the menu.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAfter being disappointed byAfter being disappointed by the previous night's dinner, I had low expectations for Anis Bistro. But from my greeting to my goodbye, I was impressed! From the familiar and friendly environment to the really delicious food (I had the duck Confit), I was anticipating my return. This place is special and made it to my sparse Top 10 list. I can't wait to return.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAnis was a start to a greatAnis was a start to a great weekend it was just awesome!!!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBeen here on e before. The staff and owner are awesome - very friendly and quite helpful in making selections from the menu. I've been here twice in the last couple of months and both visits have been a great experience.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasureAlways wonderful. Very consistent and delicious food. Never ordered something I did not love. My two major favorites are the mussels and trout. Great for small groups of 2-43/13/2013 12:00:00 AMSitting at the cafe....I love French cuisine and Anis Cafe and Bistro surely pleased. My meal was very tasty (the mussels and escargot were excellent)and the portion size was plentiful. The ambiance reminds me of sitting at a cafe on Rue Abel in Paris. It's quaint and overall a very good gem for the neighborhood it's located in. Will I be back? Absolutely. It's cheaper than flying to France.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLove the ambiance of thisLove the ambiance of this place! It's in an old house on a side street and it's done up with classic southern French decor. Very nice patio, which I'll have to go back and enjoy when it isn't pouring down rain! The food was delicious. Classic moules marinieres (mussles) in a nice, garlicy broth, so make sure you save some bread to soak it up. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired well with the risotto and the pear endive salad on top. I love salmon, but this was very close to the best I've ever had. One of my friends had the duck confit, which was also very, very good. Service was attentive, but not obtrusive. I'll definitely be back!3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMToo NoisyThis was our first time dining at Anis and we decided to try it out during Atlanta Restaurant Week.
The "week" menu choices were limited but varied. The food was excellent. However, I must comment about the noise.
When we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to sit "outside" (enclosed, brick patio area) or "inside". We had no preference and were seated outside. Big mistake. Tables were close and I literally could not hear my wife speaking in a regular tone. No wonder we were seated outside when we expressed no preference...Now, some younger diners might like the "energetic" noise but not us. Bad decision, we won't be back.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways phenominal experienceGreat Restaurant with Live Music and fantastic outdoor dining.2/19/2013 12:00:00 AM
