A word from Anis Cafe and Bistro
Tucked away in a sleepy side street in the heart of Buckhead, Anis is located in a converted house that has been renovated to look and feel like one of many little charming restaurants that you are likely to find in the Provence region in the south of France.

The menu is deeply rooted in the ingredients and aromas that give dishes from the French Mediterranean region their unique flavors.

Anis is comprised of an inside dining room and an outside patio area that is available for seating year round, and a charming little bar where you may enjoy a meal if you wish.

Widely known as one of the most romantic dining spots in the city, Anis is a great place to meet up with friends and can cater to large parties with ease.

Reservations are accepted and encouraged.

Join us for live Brazilian jazz on Thursday and Friday evenings.

First time here and for a rather important lunch for my wife and I to meet my son's serious girlfriend for the first time. I told my wife we were taking a risk since we had not been here before. The non-white servers were openly hostile to me from the beginning, as was noticed by all at the table. I am a 70 yo white guy. While I have experienced rudeness from non-white servers before, I have NEVER experienced this sort of open hostility.

This is truly a neighborhood gem. Lunch on the patio is always relaxing and the food is consistent; the fans keep it tolerable on hot days, and it is nothing short of delightful on the many fair Atlanta days. My go-to is the salmon salad, but I am often enticed by the moulles et frite, a French staple.

We arrived early, had a perfect table for two, flawless service, and excellent calamari fruit (best in Atlanta), steak au poivre, and gingered swordfish with aubergine. This is the best French bistro in Atlanta!

My wife and I chose to go to Anis for our 35th wedding anniversary. Excellent choice! The service was wonderful and our server was very friendly. The food was great. The atmosphere was the perfect pitch of romantic. We sat on the outside patio near the street and just beat the dinner crowd. This was only our second time coming. The first was years ago with friends and we remembered enjoying it then.

I live on the other side of town but when in Buckhead always try to have lunch with a friend at Anis. The atmosphere and decor -- I prefer the covered patio -- is charming without being cloying. Even on the warmest days, it is cool and comfortable outside. The lunch menu is superb! Everything is delicious! Especially recommended : moules mariniere, a crab sandwich on brioche, croque monsieur, and the omelettes. Last Sunday I took my elderly parents to Anis for brunch. While there are nice platters of bagels and salmon all over Atlanta, Anis's gravlax was over the top. The service started off too slow but picked up. Not your typical Buckhead spot; the restaurant is tucked away on Grandview in an old house.

We had a great meal, the food was excellent although there was a limited choice particularly for those who don't eat fish. Service was really good, a very attentive pleasant waitress. Love the outdoor patio and would definitely return, would like to know what the indoor ambiance is like in the winter months so will try then.

quaint place, valet parking, seated by an air conditioning vent that was on the floor blowing high -- must be a constant problem because they knew how to stop it by putting a menu on top of it (Lowe's and Home Depot have magnetic deflectors that could help or don't sit anyone there. mussels had too much garlic for our tastes, but the calamari appetizer was excellent The veal was tender as expected and my significant other had a grilled fish (sorry don't remember which kind) that she said was great. It's pretty noisey in the main room as well.

    Dined on 8/26/2014
Anis' patio dining is just wonderful. It has enough space that you don't feel crowded, and has lots of interesting art and decorations to enjoy. Service was excellent: attentive, but not obtrusive. Bread was wonderfully crusty, with soft butter on the side. The food was very good, but a tad disappointing. Just not the "oh my goodness to die for" food I'd expected. Specials were posted, sans prices, on a chalkboard. While most entrees were in the $20 - $25 range, I was most unhappily surprised when the check. I discovered that the specials were significantly pricier than the entrees on the menu. Wish I'd known that. It felt a little sleazy, really. All in all, I'd return, but NOT order anything without the price noted beforehand.

I have been to Cafe Anis many times. As always it was a great time. It's a birthday fav for sure. If you are ordering 3 courses and wine it can be expensive. If you want to experience the restaurant on a budget consider just having a glass of wine and some muscles... or wine and two desserts. Love this spot!

Anis never lets me down. This time, I took my 87 year old neighbor there for her birthday lunch and it was perfect. For one thing, the accessibility for someone with mobility issues (like my neighbor) is fantastic. Also, the valet who parked our car was incredibly helpful with my friend and treated her like he would his own mother. As always, the food, service and ambiance were lovely. Don't ever leave Anis!!

Anis has been my favorite restaurant in Atlanta since they opened. It's the only place in town where, if I close my eyes, I can almost believe I'm actually in a cozy restaurant in France. Being a Francophile, this is heaven. The food, wine, and staff, never disappoint. And now, it is also my grown daughters' favorite as well. We celebrate our lives' milestones at Anis. Thank you to Anis for the consistency and dependability they provide as it's always the best, no exceptions. In a world where quality comes and goes, Anis always delivers. Bien fait, toujours!

We have been dining at Anis for years, and have never been disappointed. Arnaud Michel is a terrific host and has a superb menu, French-inspired, of course. Anis attracts an energetic, fun crowd of all ages, which makes it even more special. The mussels are always a favorite; salmon on a bed of risotto, same; an appetizer special on a recent evening was lobster bisque, sublime. If I could give it six stars, I would. Can't wait to go back.

2nd time trying Anis. Last time the moules marinieres were horrible. A very basic French dish and it tasted like mussels in milk. Lacked white wine, shallots, parsley and the essential ingredients. This time the fish of the day was an over cooked grouper that was tough as leather which topped the chefs inspiration. The concoction was cut fingerling potatoes and cubes of sweet potatoes, lettuce greens and a few other mystery minced items tossed in a vinaigrette served cold beneath the hot fish. It was forgettable and un complimentary accompaniment with the fish. And definitely not a light summer dish with the multiple types of potato.
