Diner Reviews
  • "Went to the restaurant with my best friend, we were suppose to have restaurant week but I told my friend not to worry since we never been there before and it got nice review plus we both love steak so we should give it a try. Everyone at the theme was so friendly, it is a very romantic place. We ordered Porterhouse steak instead of favorite Filet Mignon cause waiter Jack highly recommeneded and it contains half Sirloin and half Fliet mignon. Ita was awsome. Perfectly done & served on hot plate. Jack was the nicest staff I've ever met in NYC, private tour to the wine cellar and party room. He was so professioanl. We ordered Gran Dante Argentina Malbec to paired with our steak & it was superb. Will be back for more. Thanks!"

  • "We have eaten here several times now, and each time is better than the previous. Everything about this place is top notch, the food, the service, the experience. It rates A+ on the scale for New York Manhattan Steakhouses."

  • "I have had lunch here like 15 times since they opened and I can't get enough. The petite filet it to die for, the sea bass and tuna are amazing as well. I work a half block away and tried when they opened and loved it. I used to have clients lunches at BLT regularly. Their $42 petite filet is quite but after you order a side it's not cheap. Compare that with a $29 petite filet at Angus which comes with veggies and potato and it is a no brainer-it's just as tasty or better. In the age of constricted T&E budgets it is a clear call. I do not see any reason to return to BLT (nothing against them, they serve great food)."

  • "From the time we sat down, our waiter and the supporting servers and food runners rushed us. He first asked what appetizer we wanted before we'd seen a menu. After we finished eating, we were given a check before we had even finished our wine. The strange part was that there were several empty tables around us."

  • "Loud noise at the restaurant, bad food (only the lobster tail was good in a table of 4), terrible service (waiters with no patient, they forgot on of the side dishes). I'm by coming back."

  • "Great new restaurant. Staff was attentive but not obtrusive. We had a slab of Canadian bacon and 1/2 dozen raw oysters as appetizers which were great. Veal chop and Rib-eye for dinner were tender and cooked perfectly. The only miss of the night was dessert. Had the Lava cake which was a little on the dry side and Tiramisu but for some reason it was made with coconut."

  • "When looking for a great steakhouse in NYC, stick with the long-time favorites. This newcomer won't make it given the food quality & size of the space downstairs (totally empty on a recent Friday night). Maybe it will survive on large parties in private spaces downstairs. Bar upstairs is tiny. Except for mushroom side order, nothing worth mentioning. Bread tasted as if re-heated in a microwave. Rib eye not great flavor and not 26 ozs per description."

  • "Angus Club Steakhouse is a worthy addition to the group of top New York steakhouses. The quality of the meat is very good -- not quite at the level of Peter Luger, but comparable to most of the others. The veal chop is one of the best I have ever had. The dining room is very comfortable and the service was good."

  • "Great for dates, great for groups. My party was briefly escorted to a private room and it truly was a great way to spend our night. Unexpected private room, Intimate, and a great atmosphere. We were quite impressed and even more impressed they didn't charge us extra for private room. Also, food was very delicious and the service was great!!! Can't wait to go back."

  • "It's in an odd location, so I'm not sure how long it will be around... but we had a terrific experience here. Perfect steaks, hearty side dishes, generous portions, desserts served with homemade schlag, and friendly service. It's a smallish space with minimal decor, but the pleather dining chairs are comfortable and there's a good amount of elbow room."

  • "I must say this restaurant first impression with me was very impressionable and I would definitely recommend it! Great steaks wines I enjoy it all"

  • "Sirloin and NY steak excellent, sides not as much. Fries seemed to be overcooked and in some cases a little bit burnt. Service was really excellent."

  • "My group had a great lunch at the Angus Club Steakhouse. The petite filet was perfectly cooked and the food came out fast. Our group very much enjoyed our lunch. Looking forward to another wonderful steak in the near future"

  • "Angus Club doesn't have it easy. A steak place in NYC. Trying to keep in the spirit of Peter Luger with a Poreterhouse that was really very good ..there were some minor negatives like just good not great sides that said ..basically why bother! Wolfgang's is just one block away...I went with some devoted steak afficiandos who seek out the best places...and this was their final conclusion. The service was very good..they did take care of us..no question and we sat upstairs so the ambiance may be nicer downstairs?...but as I said their niche is an overcrowded one and that makes it hard to stand out. 3 stars is actually a bit low call it 3 7/8."

  • "What a great little restaurant! Although we had a rough spot with an incorrect wine being delivered, it was quickly corrected by the staff, and a complementary drink followed. Highly recommended!"

  • "They really wow'ed me with their service. Our waiter had an answer for all of our questions, he was also very friendly. Now the food. We shared a few appetizers, the fried calamari, crab cakes and the seafood platter. They were absolutely delicious. I also ordered steak which was one of the best I've ever had. It was seasoned perfectly, cooked exactly how I wanted it, and it was an excellent cut of meat as well. We were greeted by the server, hostess, and the owners throughout our dinner which was nice! "

  • "The steak for 4 was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, exceedingly flavorful. Everything was perfectly seasoned. The sides were great too. The creamed spinach was perfect, the onion rings were great. We sadly were too full for dessert. Will go back for sure!"

  • "I went Monday evening to a new steakhouse on the upper eastside. I was alone, but I was made to feel as wanted as if I came with a lot of people. The restaurant is a month old but there were no problems. The steak was terrific as were the side dishes. They bought me an after dinner drink and gave me a tour of their restaurant. They have capability of doing private parties. It is intimate and doesn't come off like a beef factory."

  • "Amid the steakhouse competition, Angus has great food but more importantly, you don't feet like you're eating in a barn. You don't have to shout at the table."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "During the dinner noise level increased almost to point of not being able to have a conversation. After a while, when some of the noisiest of patrons left, it was more acceptable."

  • "This new steakhouse is a wonderful place to eat. It has 2 levels and multiple rooms to sit in with multiple ambiences. The seafood platter was extremely stocked with incredibly fresh seafood. The angus salad was perfectly chopped and the bacon...oh my! Then out came the Porterhouse which was cooked perfectly and served to each member with such care. Almost no room for desert but out came the desert menu and we had to eat again. Everything was perfect worth the price of admission!"

  • "Dined here on 2/15/14. Not one complaint. Great food, great service ,strong drinks and upscale decor make this a must try. Staff are very welcoming. The manager Margent, the hostess Fiona and our waiter Raymond made us feel right at home. For appetizers we ordered the lobster bisque and for dinner the grilled Chilean sea bass , 14oz filet mignon and steak fries with truffle oil as a side. Both dinners were outstanding. The bass was super fresh and cooked to perfection and the filet cut like a hot knife through butter. The fries are a must have. For dessert it was Nespresso cappuccinos with a slice of pecan pie with schlag.... Amazing as well. Plan on returning with a large group and ordering the porterhouse."

  • "Last minute booking for Valentines Day that could not have been better! They had a rose for each couple that walked in, service was terrific, food was even better. First place I will go to next time I'm in the city!"

  • "My husband and I went for Valentine's Day dinner. The steak was 50% gristle, the creamed spinach showed no evidence of dairy and the room was cold and drafty. Our primary waiter was skilled and did his best but the rest of the crew were pretty amateurish. When we asked to take the rest of our steak to go a junior wait staff person plunked the bagged steak on the table With a giant WHUMP! right in front of my face. My husband said, "Gee, you should have brought your catchers mitt!" We asked for the check and got dessert and coffee elsewhere. And no, we are not overbearing, fussy diners. This place won't make it with service and meat like this."

  • "My husband and I had reservations on Valentine's Day for dinner and we were beyond impressed. The service was exceptional from the moment we walked thru the doors to the moment we left. Our server Jake was friendly and helpful and the food was exceptional. We had the crab cakes which we are still talking about today and the steak was melt in your mouth fantastic. We can't wait to go back!"

  • "My boyfriend and I came here for dinner and had a great time. We were about ten minutes late for our 7:30 reservation, but were seated immediately by the friendly hostess. We shared the prime steak tartar, and fried calamari as our appetizer, which were beautifully presented and tasted heavenly. Of course, i had the filet mignon which had amazing flavor and it was cooked just the way i like. Everything in this place was amazing, and the service we received is some of the best i've ever received at any place in Manhattan. I highly recommend it!!"
