  • It was a great evening

We were a little nervous when we walked in and found the restaurant nearly empty especially since we weren't able to get a reservation until 7:30. We ended up having a very enjoyable evening in all ways - all four of our entrees were excellent and the service was exceptional. The bar needs to expand their selection of spirits!

My wife and I had a great time at Angelo's Bistro. The food was great and the ambience was perfect. My only area of concern would be the advertisement. I planned to visit for Valentine's day. I made the reservation in advance. Priced the restaurant and was ready to go. We did not find out until we arrived that there was a limited menu and set price for Valentines Day.

Reservation was honored speedily. Table for two was the smallest ever encountered. Would not accommodate all of the dishes, glasses, etc which had to be placed on the window ledge. Mussels were some of the best. House salads were ok. Veal Marsala was tenderest I've eaten. Marsala reduction was thinner than I prefer. Angel hair pasta was over cooked. Wife's lobster ravioli was rich and good. Desserts were not attempted. Will come back to try other entrees.

A quaint little place adjacent to Academy Sports - you might miss this treasure. I lived in NJ and NYC and it is as good as any Italian there. Owner greats the guests, a piano player takes requests, the sauce cooks down for hours, and you can get the wine at your preference of temperature. Mussels are great before or as a meal.

This place never disappoints. The menu is varied, the food from apps to desserts to caps and everything in between is consistently very well thought out and expertly prepared. Angelo is an engaging host, chef and businessman, he gets it! Shrimp and grits is such a ubiquitous entree, but Angelo does it the best. The pasta is always al dente, the sauces amazing, and the cannoli is the best this side of Boston's north end. Don't miss this place, not pretentious, not overpriced but great food, atmosphere and service.

Angelo's Bistro is a delightful and memorable experience. A great Dinner any night of the week but also Birthday, Anniversary, whatever the celebration. We love the ambience and yes, most of the time it is quiet even with Kent playing his beautiful music on Angelo's Baby Grand. Make a reservation. You will be pleased.

I usually have the Pomodoro first whenever at a new Italian and end up judging it based on that dish. I make a much better Pomodoro than Angelo's so if I did that here I wouldn't return. However, my friend had the Chicken Bistro and loved it. Service was great, if young and a little stiff. Dessert better than many Italian's. The wine fine. Bottom line is the menu is heavy in meats and seafood, but I would still give this place another chance sometime.

The food was very good. Each of us had something different and everyone was pleased. One couple ordered a Chardonnay that wasn't available and the waiter offered two alternate choices for the same price. Very small crowd but we were there early. Live piano music softly in the background. Nice experience overall. Highly recommend. Fresh hot bread served before and during the meal - wonderful!

This cute little restaurant is almost hidden in Cool Springs but brings a quiet ambience for a nice, romantic evening. My husband and I enjoyed the veal parmasean and veal marsala and were very impressed. The music from the piano player during our meal made it very enjoyable. I liked the looks of the interior of the restaurant. Very cozy....however, the portions of food were not adequate for the cost. The food itself was very bland and didn't taste like authentic Italian food. My wife had ordered the egg plant that appeared to look like a bowl of soup. I've never seen eggplant cooked this way. Needless to say, she only ate a 1/3 of it. There were a total of 3 of us that dined at Angelo's Bistro that totaled over $130, which included a bottle of wine w/tip. We have no plans dining there again.

Server was very experienced and offered suggestions. I went with her recommendation of the pan-seared Giant Scallops and while they were flavorful, there were only 3 small scallops. Definitely not worth the $30 price tag. There were other selections on the menu that were more reasonably priced and if I were to go back, I would definitely go with those. My advice is if you order a special, be sure to ask how much it is and the portions.
