Diner Reviews
  • "Entering into Restaurant, and dealing with the hostess you already feel like you are not the customer… The food was so so, but our waiter was nice which is perhaps the high note of this dinner."

  • "What a dining experience and what a pleasure to get to know Pasquale, the heart and soul behind Angelino. Him and his family, and the rest of the crew, are wonderful! They even arranged for a breath-taking full moon to rise on the bay during our meal although I suspect that wasn't entirely their job... But the terrific eggplant parmigiana, the fritto misto, the arancini and fish were, and they were all great! Thank hou for a special, truly Italian dining experience!"

  • "Four of us ate at Angelino's for the first time this weekend. The waiter could not understand "perfect manhattan" for our drink orders. The drinks had to be sent back twice, with one of us finally getting up to speak directly to the bartender and explain no, we did not want Knob Creek on the rocks. The bartender was surly. We were specifically told the Bolognese had home made fettuccini, which it most definitely was not. When our plates were cleared, we told the person who asked how our meal was that it wasn't very good. He did not follow up, just took the plates away. There aren't a lot of great food alternatives in Sausalito, but there is certainly better than this. We won't be returning."

  • "Thank you for a fantastic dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service impeccable! Angelino's is one of Marin's very best!"

  • "Good food and but chef needs etiquette lessons however Italian server was accommodating."

  • "The meal was superb! Try their signature appetizer, Mare e Orto. It's flavor and texture is unique. Grilled Monterey calamari, baby rock octopus, grilled shrimp, clams and mussels with jardinière vegetables in citrus vinaigrette. Their fish dishes are really fresh and well prepared. Comfortable place, with a surprisingly large number of locals for such a "touristy" location."

  • "The bolonese pasta tasted like chef boyRD with soggy noodles. My veal was just ok...no imagination in the flavors or presentation. First glass of wine had to go back cuz it had turned and the waiter said he often has to return that one (think it was the barbera). You have to pay for parking unless you can get street parking (good luck). Then they cancelled my open table reservation for some reason and I had to call them to get it back so I'd get my points!"

  • "I made a reservation for 5 of us for dinner. Service was poor, we waited a while to order, then one of our drink orders and an appetizer were entered incorrectly. We had the mare e orto and antipasti appetizers. Mare e orto was very nice, antipasti I could do without. Cocktails were underwhelming, but wine list was decent. Entrees were ok, gnocchi was underwhelming and poorly plated, but my parents thought the shrimp scampi was delicious and looked like a nice dish. Portions were smaller than expected. Nice ambience, inconsistent food and drinks, and training-like staff. Maybe better for lunch?"

  • "The tables at the front have a great view. Tables at the back are quite tight - and chilly if the door is open. My husband's pasta (orecchiette with peas) looked really unappealing - kind of grey, but tasted ok. The salmon in the pasta special seemed mushy (overcooked?) and had a strong taste/smell; Pizza was really good. Service was spotty (appetizer never arrived; recommended a dish that they didn't have)."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "As mentioned great view, but food sub par. Especially the pizza; had a anchovy pizza with spongy crust and adequate cheeze. The kind of pizza you would expect to make at home after shopping at safeway for your ingredients."

  • "Food, Service and atmosphere was all great! Small place but make sup for it in the food and service. We will be back!!"

  • "We made a spur of the moment reservation here after an afternoon hike along Richardson Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, sharing a salad, an order of ravioli and the mussels. All were first -rate. The service was great--our waiter was gracious, knowledgeable, and efficient. This place caters to tourists, but also seems like a family place and somewhere that "regulars" probably enjoy returning to. "

  • "Gnocchi was Spectacular; Seafood Appetizer was amazing. Good Wine, good service, plenty to eat, excellent coffee, expresso. We will go back. Views outstanding from the front tables, bar served dinner too, and looked inviting. Even the back tables were more than acceptable."

  • "We had heard of Angelino from friends new to Marin, but hadn't been there. Saturday night we had a marvelous dinner, great service, and easy parking in the lot next door. The wine recommended by our waiter was an Italian white we did not know, and was exactly as requested. That began a most attentive and delicious dinner. Great arancini & Cesar salad to start, followed by perfect ravioli and local sand dabs. We will be back, and bring friends and family!"

  • "Angelino's is a Sausalito Gem. Its one of the few restaurants which makes you feel at home while the food is fresh and consistently delicious. Truly a long time favorite. Reminds me of the Italian restaurants back in New York. Priceless! "

  • "This is a family owned restaurant that has been in Sausalito for some time. The food is excellent. The service outstanding. It has a somewhat unique ambience. It is not trendy but rather has a loyal and sophisticated clientele that appreciates good food. It's location in the tourist area of Sausalito is misleading. "

  • "Pretty good food and great view if you get a good table (view from one side of the table mainly). Good service also. A tad noisy for my taste. The menu is good - but the wine list is overpriced. I guess in Sausalito you'd expect that, but I had better wines for the price on the beachfront in Maui."

  • "I am not a tourist and have been dining at your restaurant for years. I was hoping for a wonderful dining experience with our friends visiting from out of the country, but it was very disappointing! I asked for a spicy bloody mary and was given a very horseradish tasting drink. I asked for spice like tabasco, and heard the bartender, "Mr Wonderful" complain. So he sent over a tray to make my own bloody mary - Seriously!!! Very rude, grumpy and needs a lesson in customer service. Perhaps bartending is not for him anymore."

  • "Went to Angelino with friends, the place was moderately busy on a Friday night but definitely not crowded. Food was average, I had fish and my three companions had pasta - nothing special Service was fair to poor - I had to repeatedly look for the waiter and ask for a diet coke, after the 4th request I asked the man who cleared the dishes from the table and he was kind enough to take care of us. Not a place I would go back to again given the choices (like the Outback where the service is much better)"

  • "Service was spotty, little attention after ordering and serving was done in shifts. Waiter was friendly but insincere. Regulars were seemingly given all the best service."

  • "In the very epicenter of a "touristy" street in Sausalito is Angelino. Quaint, comfortable, excellent Italian food with an emphasis on fresh seafood. Nice wine list. Try the Mare e Orto salad to start. Their soup is also homemade and delicious. The petrale prepared to perfection!"

  • "It's hard to find an Italian restaurant that cooks food that actually tastes like what's served in Italy. Angelino delivers fantastic food that has that "special something" that's common in Italy but rare here in the States."

  • "We used to go to this location on Bridgway in Sausalito a long time ago when I lived there and it was Jack London's so it was a perfect place for Valentine's day - about 100'' from the bay! The food was great. I had the veal chop and it was very tasty as was the veal marsala my wife had. We split a caesar salad which was also perfect. The service was also very attentive. The place was full, but we could still have a nice conversation with the noise."

  • "A very special meal. More like Europe than America. Beautifully prepared with wonderful and unique flavors. The service was impeccable. The décor is nice, but nothing special. The noise level was muted which was a real pleasure. My wife and I could actually have a real conversation even though the restaurant was full."

  • "We have lived in Marin 30+ years and seem to have procrastinated on eating at Angelino's. We loved it! Food was great, service was prompt and kindly attentive. This restaurant will now be on our list of regulars and a place to take our out-of-town guests!"

  • "I love this restaurant but thought it was off this night. Food came too quickly and the pasta was just ok ... not outstanding as I have had in the past. Hope this isn't going to be a trend!"

  • "Typical overpriced Sausalito restaurant. Very nice view of the San Francisco skyline but the food was average at best. Waiter was very professional. Handy parking lot next door($10) The Wife and I try a new restaurant on the first Friday of every month. This was our first swing and a miss. we are not likely to return."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous meal on NYE at Angelino -- we would recommend it as one of the best restaurants in Sausalito. If you love fine Italian food, you will love Angelino !!"

  • "We found ourselves in Sausalito in the early evening and used open table to find a good restaurant for a quick meal. Our meal was wonderful and we had one of the best Cesar salads ever. Every thing was tasty and well prepared."

  • "Have eaten here several times, food always good. Good service by a charming waiter from italy. Do think the prices are high...but it is Sausalito!"
    Dined on 12/7/2013
  • "This place is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The best food, the best atmosphere, the best satisfaction. The only reason I gave it a low score is because they stuck me in the back and the service from the servers in the back is not as high quality as the front of the restaurant. This place is still my favorite, but I was disappointed to be at a table that wasn't the best with service that was sub par."

  • "Neighborhood gem in the middle of the Sausalito scene. Been by it 50 times and didn't notice until I read some positive reviews. Wow! Glad I did. We had a wonderful lunch that was so authentically Italian, it was stunning. You'll only really appreciate this place if you've been to Italy. The tastes aren't over done/over wrought like so many Italian restaurants in the US, especially in the middle of such a tourist area. They're just pure and simple and perfect! We loved every bite. And the biggest bonus of all is there is a reasonably priced parking lot literally next door, so the question of can I find parking when I get there is taken care of! Easy and Wonderful place for great Italian. We're fortunate to be local, and we'll be back!"

  • "Food and wine were delicious. Angelino's could think about hiring at least two more waiters, though."
    Dined on 11/23/2013
  • "This was my second time to the restaurant. This time we went with a large group and found it to be very loud and hard to hear. The food was wonderful though and we had a fantastic waiter authentically from Italy. One of the meals was served a lot later than everyone else's so the restaurant could be a bit more organized. But it was a busy Saturday night so that happens sometimes."

  • "Sausalito, but full of locals, repeat customers! We talked to a couple that drive down from Sebastopol to eat there. Great fresh delicious food, my husband and I both had fresh made pasta dishes (ravoli and gnocchi), loved the anti pasta plate too, nice wines. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, happy, friendly staff, up-scale and elegant appearance. The place has been here for years, but they keep it looking new and beautiful. I like that the restaurant crowd was pretty equally divided between age groups. Keep it up Angelino's! We love you!"
