Attempted to eat here on 2/16. Arrived for our 7:45 pm reservation on a Saturday night to an empty restaurant with only two employees eating at one of the tables. After waiting some time for one of them to get up and greet us I announced that we had a reservation and she was surprised. After being seated at one of the tables we were then greeted by, I think the manager, to explain that they were only offering a fixed price menu at $65 per person for valentines day that was two days ago. This was not disclosed when we made our reservation. We left. How can a restaurant on the Main Line be completely at 7:45 pm on a Saturday night and remain open unless there is something else going on?

Valentines Dinner: Limited choice V-Day Prix fix with no access to the menu online. 6 Wines available (red), no vintages listed and waiters had NO idea what to say about each one. Tried two both bad. The steak was thin, tough and blah! The potatoes a 3 year old could have prepared (they may have been using them in the back). The waiters changed every 2-3 minutes except when the tip was due and then low and behold our original guy showed up. Slow on water. VERY slow on noticing we were done and ready for desert. The squash soup was elegant and to die for. Unfortunately the rest was not. It could not make up for the sizable dime we had to drop for the dinner. Very disappointing! Wrecked our V-Day mood.

Food was nothing to write home about. Room temperature was frigid. Waiter forgot to bring wine until mid-meal despite fact that there were very few people at the restaurant (on a Friday night!) We had been to Anue about a year ago and that was a much better dining experience.

Should have read reviews vs. the write up in local magazine. We liked everything about the place except the food. When we arrived at around 7:30 we were the only people seated in the dining room. The bartender/server did a very good job. Our appetizers (beet salad and fish taco) were good but our entrees (salmon and chicken dishes) were grossly overcooked and appeared to have been prepared in a microwave. I can only imagine that these were frozen before we ordered and were "made to order".

My favorite dish, the butterfish, which for years has been my favorite was just so-so. Cooked differently and lacking flavor. The accompanying rice was also bland and I could not detect the advertised flavors. Others who had previously enjoyed the dish agreed with me. The restaurant is being converted in the near future to Binni and Flynns, a tex-mex restaurant, and perhaps that is not a bad thing.

We had a really nice dinner. My friend and I haven't seen each other in a while and we were able to talk and catch up and not be bothered by the server. Not too many people were there either so that could have been the reason. The servers were wonderful and the food was delicious. However, I understand the restaurant will be going through a transformation within the next couple of weeks and it will no longer be known at the Aneu Bistro but Binney & Flynns. Good luck to them!!

Bizzare dining experience for party of 2. The main dining room was nearly empty on a Saturday night. However, we waited over 20 minutes for menus (apparently, they had run out) and for a waiter to even acknowledge us (after walking by us several times). After acknowledging us, the service was fair. The food was nothing to write home about (main course included fish which was bland and dry and filet which was slightly under-done and cold). After the main course, we were only quickly offered coffee and then had to ask separetely for desert. Although our experience may have been unusual, we would have to think hard about returning or recommending to others.

Been there twice and highly recommend this romantic restaurant (went with my girlfriend and she enjoyed the ambiance. Despite having a good size staff, the owner is very hands-on and even waited on our table. I think this level of interest by the owner ensures that both quality and standards remain high. The menu is innovative and first rate. Will definitely dine there again.

I always enjoy the food at Aneu (Sunday brunch is a particular favorite), and this visit was no exception. Unfortunately, the hit or miss service we received is also a typical feature of this restaurant. Waiting was the order of the day, from being seating to getting the check. Aneu is worth a trip, as long as you have the time to spend.

I almost always write something positive when possible in these reviews but unfortunately, cannot do so for Aneu. Things did not go well from the start. I do not know if it was a bad night or a regular pattern but they seem highly disorganized. The hostess was not at her station and we waited at the station for more than 5 minutes before she appeared. She was pleasant but a bit scattered and could not find menus and took them from another table. The waitress very nice but clearly had too many tables to handle. The bar was backed up so it took quite some time to get drinks. Of the four meals ordered, only one person liked their meal. Not going back.

Brought family from out of town. The food was phenomenal. There was definitely a lot of heart and soul put into the dish. The service was outstanding. We ate at a high top table, and the bartender was our server. He was on point, even though he had to take care of us, and the bar. He was very efficient. I had the short ribs, and they were out of this world. This is a MUST try!!!

My wife and I still had no power last light and decided to try Aneu again for the first time in over a year. The restaurant is under new management with a new chef and we wish we knew the sooner! We consider ourselves to be "foodies" and have got to say that this place is legit! Some food highlights were the Cappuccino of Celery Root and the Maryland Crab Cheese Cake although everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We asked the the manager(chef's wife) if he wouldn't mind coming to visit our table. He came out after our entrees and spent a good ten minutes with us which let us know he cares about his guests which is rare these days. We wish Aneu much success and will return soon.

Having been a fan of Meridith's in the past, I have to say I was disappointed. We heard there was a new chef at Aneu so thought we'd try it for a special occasion. The hostess was the chef's mom and she was very sweet and certainly very proud of her son. Our waiter Matt was friendly and eager to please. I had the beet and goat cheese salad - the greens were dry which I didn't care for. The short rib entree needed salt and pepper, something I almost NEVER add at a restaurant. The bread pudding also was dry. All in all, I'm not running back anytime soon but maybe as time goes on and the menu gets some tweaks, I'll keep an open mind.

From the moment I walked in, I was treated exceptionally. From the hostess frequently rounding on tables, to the chef who came to the table to explain the menu and check on us twice, to the fabulous waiter, it was the best meal I have had in awhile. The bistro is beautifully decorated inside. The seasonal menu was delicious from start to finish! I highly recommend dining at Aneu.

Food: They have an ala carte menu, but we took the special (3 courses for $40.00) I had the Duck Confit Macaroni and Cheese and an appetizer, then the Beef Short Ribs, and Bread Pudding for dessert. My wife had the Crab Cheese Cake, Butternut Squash Soup, and the Trout. The food was out-of-this-world. Chef David Murray is a master of his craft! Service: Service was great. We had two servers that worked together which seemed to have the service run very smoothly for a busy night. Everyone had big smiles, especially the gracious and charismatic host. I had checked out the menu a month or two ago and liked what I saw, so I decided to go the next time I was in the mood for a nice dinner. When I went this past weekend, they had apparently changed their chef, and the new one decided that the restaurant was exclusively a "Restaurant Week" $40 fixed price menu. Not really my cup of tea, but the food was decent, not quite sure it was worth the price. I probably will not go again...

We are ;ocal and have been supporters for some time. The last chef was somewhat spotty - could be very good, but we did have a couple of less than excellent meals. Service and ambience has never been less than great. The new chef is obviously very talented - and he is passionate about the quality of his food. During this relatively quiet evening, he came out a couple of times to see what we thought of his work. Wine is not long, but high quality and reasonably priced. He is planning to expand the list. Highly recommended. I think they've really got it this time!
