  • "My middle school daughter plays in a couple of jazz combos. It was nice to be able to take her to a "real" jazz club for the experience. Andy's allows under 21 until 9pm which covers their first two shows. It was one of the very few options in all of greater Chicago for under 21. The food is very good and priced accordingly, that being said with only a $10 cover per person it is still one of the better jazz club deals I've found. I have been there 3 times now and will defiantly go again."

  • "If you want to enjoy great music, this is the place for you. Andy Brown quartet played while we noshed on baby back ribs. I love that the other patrons were also there for the music and stayed quiet and enjoyed the band. I highly recommend this place."

  • "This was a great place to go with friends and family from out of town. Before 7 pm we were able to bring our nephew (<21) who also enjoyed the experience. Food is not gourmet but a step up from bar food."

  • "If you are looking for a place to enjoy great jazz and incredible food - go to Andy's Jazz Club. I booked dinner for a business trip and worked with the team at Andy's to put on a business dinner for 20 - When we arrived, the staff was waiting for us and the evening began. Although there were many items not available on the menu - what we did get was delicious and nicely prepared. All in all - we sampled everything from appetizers to desserts and amazing drinks from their full service bar.... Oh and did I mention the service - INCREDIBLE! Really added to an enjoyable evening. One thing - there is a cover charge on top of the cost of dinner - but the entertainment is well worth it's wait in Gold!!!!"

  • "Poor quality and insufficient food. We were a group of adults and the service we hurried to leave the table before the two hours promised to listen to jazz. Charged USD 15 per person the right to show, but they said usd10 advertising. No return or recommend."

  • "It was nice for my 18 year old son to experience some Jazz in Chicago. The food was good too. The waiter we had was great! The whole atmosphere was very friendly and exciting."

  • "Very nice Jazz Club, that is kid friendly with the music beginning at 5 p.m. ! Terrifically friendly staff ....charming venue....VERY reasonable pricing. Great place to take your kiddos for some jazz !"

  • "I was in town for a conference and my wife accompanied me, & we love jazz! So, a colleague recommended your club, besides being close to our hotel, great music, food and wine! And our waitress was superb! We plan on returning, the next time we are in Chicago!"

  • "Wow! I often would see Jazz Clubs on TV but never lived in a city with one available. I was determined to come to Chicago and take the time out to do something special for myself. That something special was a wonderful dinner, with great music that was something special to see and feel the big city night life. Amazing!!!!!!!!!!"

  • "Don't let the atmosphere deter you from actually enjoying a fantastic dinner. The drinks and dinner were well priced the desserts not very good. The entertainment excellent and worth the three hour drive."

  • "We love good jazz music and Andy's books some of the best, including new groups we haven't heard before, like New York's "Rad Trads". Andy's has a good menu, a long beer and wine list for everyone, and attentive service. We particularly enjoy the "dry rub" baby-back ribs and the salmon."

  • "My parents and I visited Andy's for dinner on the first evening of our stay in Chicago. We were tourists from Japan. We reached there a few minutes past 7pm, and were seated right in front of the stage. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, and did her best when the music was too loud and we had hard time hearing each other's voice. The food was better than I had expected, and the jazz music was a perfect start for our stay in Chicago. Not a place for enjoying conversation, but otherwise, a place worth visiting if you are a visitor to Chicago."

  • "And the food was better than it should have been for a Jazz/Blues Club. There was a brilliant Jazz quartet(forgot name, but had CDs), that seemed to be a local favorite. As a matter of fact, we seemed to be the only "out-of-towners" there. Our server was prompt and friendly and our drinks were alway topped off(water, not my $11.00 The Macallan, of which I milked throughout the evening). The beef tenderloin medallions in red wine Demi glacé was incredible as were the sides and we were both left with a full, but not overfull, perfect. Overall, it was exactly what we hoped for, a Jazz filled evening with delicious food. Kudos to Andy's!!!"

  • "First off, had to pay $15, for dinner, the host said it was at the bottom, obviously they get a response to that entry charge. Then there is a sign that says you have the table for 2 hours...So it was to late to make reservations anywhere else. The waitress ERIN was terrible, she brought our drinks and took our food order, and did not come back to the table to check on us., we had to flag her down several times...the busboys was our waiter...I asked her is that there policy and she said no and apologize...I tipped the busboys. I frequent different restaurants biweekly, and this one is not a pick..."

  • "This jazz club has a fantastic vibe - lots of people and buzz, and a whole lot of talent on the stage. The food is also wonderful, and the staff are pleasant and attentive. For anyone looking for a genuine Chicago jazz experience, this is it! Canucks on Hubbard"

  • "Decided to take my special lady to Andy's for Valentine's. As you might expect, it was busy but the service was top-notch throughout. While we went for the music, the food was excellent. I ordered the ceviche (excellent) and our server clued us in to the baked brie platter (even better). I ordered the mustard seed crusted halibut and loved it. My date chose the bbq salmon and polished in off in record time. We had additional stops to make that evening so we didn't try the desserts or drinks...but that we'll take care of that on our next visit. There are live jazz sets so don't expect to be chatting the entire time. The music is not oppressively loud but does make it hard to carry on a conversation. Save that for the breaks between sets."

  • "Check it out. We liked the early dining (4:30) with the first set at 5 pm. Food was excellent. Cool decor. We'll go back."

  • "I was in Chicago for business and met a couple in the elevator who recommended Andy's. It was within walking distance from the hotel, so we took a group there on Friday night. I booked via OpenTable, and there was NO indication of a cover charge. We were forced to pay a cover onsite. When I asked about it, I was told I had to "Scroll down" to find the notice. I checked out OpenTable after leaving the club, and there was no notice of a cover whatsoever. While the music was good, the food was atrocious. I could not finish my meal, and it was just a Margherita pizza! Finally, we were kicked out of our table after 2 hours. Not my favorite location and would not refer."

  • "My boyfriend and I made a reservation to see the lowdown brass band play and we loved every minute of it! The band was phenomenal and the ambience of the club was perfect. We were nestled back in a corner table which made everything seem even more romantic and the music and energy of the place just made the night perfect. Both of us would highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to listen to some very great jazz music! This is my first visit to Chicago and after having a poor experience somewhere else for lunch, I was disappointed with my visit but this place sold the whole city to me."

  • "Wonderful food, top-notch jazz music, quick service. We really enjoyed our visit. I had the beef medallions and they were delicious. The menus were a little dirty, but everything else made up for it. Would definitely come back!"

  • "This was my first visit to Andy's Jazz Club, and I truly enjoyed it! We were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. Music, food and ambience was great. Our server however, certainly could have stepped it up a couple notches. He was not very friendly, nor attentive. We attempted to be extra nice to him, which seemed to warm him up a bit, but not enough. Besides that, we had a great time! I definately would go again and recommend. Thanks!!"

  • "I was wary of dining in a music spot, but the dishes were very good. The music was excellent and the cozy environment was perfect. This place is perfect for parties of 2 - 4 people who like music and want better than bar food. The menu isn't large, but the quality is there even with the deserts."

  • "We reserved a 5:00 seating b/c we brought a young (7th gr) jazz enthusiast. Requested special seating close to the stage. When we arrived, they had the best table in the house for us. Not only that, but Jimmy Ellis himself (sax man) stopped by our table on a break, asked my son if he was "the young jazz man", talked to him and told him to "practice every day." I couldn't believe it! The whole band was fantastic. Great jazz Was mostly an adult crowd but we did see another family . We ordered crabcakes for appetizer, cajun shrimp risotto, and duck breast jambalaya. All fantastic and presented beautifully. Fantastic service - our server was attentive but didn't distract from the jazz. Loved our visit and will be back for sure."

  • "This was my first experience with Andy's. The jazz music was wonderful and the seating around the stage is very good, with plenty of visibility. The food however, left much to be desired. We started with an appetizer of margherita pizza, which had an unusual crust that just was not very good. The halibut was tough and seemed to have been prepared well in advance of my order. The beef short ribs were also tough and the mashed potatoes, while nicely presented, were not that good as well. Our final menu item was the tenderloin medallions, which we felt were good. We definitely will go back again but we will dine elsewhere in advance."

  • "My husband and I tried Andy's for the first time. It was terrific. The food was very good and the vibe in this place is great. You just don't find places like this anymore. The band played the entire time we were there, and sounded great. I would definitely go back again."

  • "I went to this restaurant to enjoy amazing jazz, have a nice meal and an indulging dessert. That is exactly what I got. The house band was excellent. They played very well together and their arrangement really gave each musician their time to shine. The food was also very well-done, had the standard dish of beef short ribs and mashed potatoes. You can't go wrong with their pudding with caramel for dessert....yeeeesss."

  • "This is a great place to chill out with friends to have some great food and listen to some great music. It is a great place for adults of all ages. You just need to be a jazz lover. It is an intimate place with great ambience and great acoustics for listening to live bands. Great service too. If you and your party want a dining table it's better to make your reservation in advance. Another added plus is that you can make your table reservation on their website. That made the experience even better. This place is highly recommended."

  • "I loved the table setup next to the stage and the incredible tasting food. We were seated within two minutes of checking in for our reservation. I appreciated the fact that once all tables were full the restaurant stopped allowing people in so nobody was standing up blocking views or in anybody's way. Corey Wilkes was explosive and his group had incredible solos. I was able to enjoy the music without being deaf...smooth, funk urban mix of tasteful Jazz. The food taste and variety surprised me; I never thought that excellent food and excellent music and atmosphere would be found at this location. I am definitely going back to Andy's."
