Definitely one of the better places to see good jazz in the area. You are better off making a dinner reservation to get a seat than be crammed in space at the bar. The table gets you 2 hours of play or possibly more.

Me and my girlfriend went on a Saturday night it was our first time there and everything was excellent the music was great ! The food was very good we had a reservation and walked right in didn't have to wait. Our waitress was super nice and recommended very delicious food. We got the goat cheese personal pizza and a chicken pesto sandwhich both very good. Only bad thing was where we sat there was a poll blocking my view of the piano so that was kind of annoying other than that great place !

Coming here lived up to my expectations and then some. We made reservations and were promptly seated when we arrived. On top of the cost for dinner there was a $15 cover charge that would normally turn me off on going, however the ambiance and quality of the band was more than worth the cover. That night featured Frank Catalano. The music was incredible! This will be a regular stop for me each time I come to Chicago.

I knew going in that it was more about music than food for sure. I was happy that we were able to get a pretty good salad, as were the others in our party of six. Staff was very friendly, attentive, and accurate. They offer more mainstay meals as well, but again, the music is the star.

The food is eclipsed by the jazz talent and great jazz vibe at Andy's. Food was typical pub fare with a few good salad choices as well. Service was very good as well. Great to have a place to enjoy jazz at dinnertime - especially for seniors who can't stay up til midnite!

This is not a venue if you wish to talk as the music is very loud. The food is average but it is obviously a hot spot for the area. It would have been nice to know that there is a $15.00 cover charge per person when you make a reservation for dinner.

My wife and I were in Chicago on a business/long weekend getaway. I found Andy's on-line and later received a recommendation from local acquaintances. The club has a lot of character. The club's ambiance is perfectly created for a Jazz place. Low lights and good acoustics. We had reserved a table for 9:30pm via opentable.org. We arrived on time and to our pleasant surprise, got the seats right in front of the stage. These were absolutely great seats and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner while listening to the beautiful live performance. The crowd was very encouraging to the musicians (rightfully so) and the service was up to the mark. The food menu was diverse. I had the Salmon dish and was rewarded with one of biggest chunks of well-roasted Salmon I've had in some time. The food actually came very close to a fine dining experience. Good place to take a date and/or enjoy some great live music.

If you are going to Andy's, because you heard or read it was one of the top Jazz Clubs for Dinner, think twice. The music was fine, although it was way to long between the first group and the second group. The food was disappointing. If you are going for music and drinks, it's fine. The decor could use an upgrade.

Andy's was a first and only time to a Chicago jazz club for two of us. Difficult to assess / compare to other venues similar. It did allow us the opportunity to dine and wine while being able to listen to a fine musical trio, Ben Paterson, at a convenient time of day, being open at 4pm and music at 5pm. The ambience was good , but not warm aesthetics , room a bit dark and dreary. Food was fine, overall, well prepared and served promptly.

I had read many of the reviews on Travel-Adviser and Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. Although it wasn't a total bust, it also wasn't as memorable as we'd hoped. The food was decent, but the service left a lot to desired. The jazz quartet we heard was entertaining but not one we'd go back to see.

Unfortunately Andy's food was not up to Par. The music was good although the Saxist liked to play loud, Chris Harmon the pianist was awesome. I got the Shrimp with a Risotto and was pretty much chili powder flavored. My husband lamb chops were ok. The mashed potatoes were instant which is fine if you add cream and butter and maybe a little garlic , but they just added water. No salt or pepper. Very bland. My sons dish was excellent - he got the Halibut.

My husband and I were entertaining friends from England and thought Andy's Jazz Club would be perfect for the evening! As we walked in I was told of the entry fee. Did not have cash was told of the ATM which was conveniently located across the street. When I arrived the music took me over. The band was amazing!!! There was a woman that performed a few songs with the group this night and if I could be honest.....I could close my eyes and imagine a woman at least 30 years younger singing! Her voice was clear, soulful, and full of experience! The food was definitely the part that I did not expect. I ordered the short ribs and have to say that was the best short rib meal I've ever had!!! Tender and flavorful, I will order this again for sure!!

We went for Dana Hall's Black Fire Jazz Band. From previous reviewers I did not have high hopes for the food, but was looking forward to the Music by Black Fire (Awesome!!) I was happily surprised that the food was excellent! We had the Crab cakes, Goat Cheese Pizza (Delicious!) (, the Beef SHort Ribs (Outstanding!), Tiramisu (Very good), Bread Pudding (kind of Eggy, but good), and Coffee (OK). We are foodies and seek out restaurants for their food and I would consider Andy's food excellent!! Way better than your standard Bar food, which we had expected. The only thing I can say is we had a waitress that wasn't super attentive, but we didn't mind as we were there for the Jazz and ended up for the food too.

I was disappointed in the band this night. Justin Thomas is a talented vibraphonist, but he was overwhelmed by his buddies on percussion who had little sense of dynamics or leaving space. I was like, guys, you're not the only ones in the room. I expected a little higher caliber performance. Reasonable food and cover for a big city club, nice intimate setting, not pretentious at all, easy walk from the loop. Service was great.

We totally enjoyed the jazz group playing latin style jazz. We were there for the early (5-7PM) show and dinner on a Friday. We reserved for 4:30 for dinner and were the only ones there for the first hour before more people came in. The food was just fine. If its on the menu it should be good but my wife ordered the Fish & Chips and it was just so so. One piece was not edible They offered to replace it but she wasn't that hungry so she did not bother. I had the 1/2 roasted chicken and it however was very nice. The service was friendly and efficient. Because we love jazz, we would recommend it for that.

The wine, food and entertainment were very good at Andy's and the service, specifically by our waiter Tye, was excellent. I would recommend Andy's to a friend as a place to enjoy very goof Jazz without having to dress too formally, but at the same time not fill overdressed if you or your significant other are wearing formal attire. The location is excellent for taking a walk in downtown Chicago before or after dining and the ambience just added to making the evening enjoyable. Our waiter, Tye, did an excellent job.
