I really fill that a $10 service charge for a band playing 40 minutes was excessive. There should be a discount off a customer bill for those eating. Music was enjoyable while that band was playing. Then no other band for over an hour. It would be nice to know this when making reservations.

We were expecting great music but did not have high expectations for the food. We were pleasantly surprised. The duck breast jambalaya was perfectly spicy. The duck breast was a little over cooked for my taste but the skin was crispy as it should be. My husband had the BBQ rib appetizer and an order of fries. There was plenty, even though it was an appetizer. He considers himself a connoisseur of ribs and he was very happy with these. The fries were served with three different dips. The bread pudding was just ok. The wine list was mediocre. Overall the food was very good. Combine it with great music and you've got a great night out.

This was my second time to Andy's and I was not disappointed. One must be a jazz lover as this is a place to listen(not talk) and enjoy reasonably good food. There is a cover charge which goes to the performers and menu prices are a little high, however, considering the entertainment all-in-all it is a good bargain for an evening of entertainment. It is a nice atmosphere, and service is excellent.

We chose Andys as it was a short walk to our hotel and we wanted to hear live jazz. The music was excellent- Eric Schneider on Sax.I had the lamb chops- they were the best I had ever tasted! However, the menu was limited. The place was not overly filled for a Wednesday night. We were given a table that had a blocked view from a pillar. We asked to move to one that was unobstructed and this was accommodated. It would have been good to have had a more visible manager presence and perhaps have the manager visit tables to inquire about the customer experience. No-one engaged us in conversation so the place came across as somewhat impersonal. However, the music was great!

We went for the music., but I expected a little more from the food. The food was nothing more than average. I had salmon, a little on the dry side, not much flavor, mashed potatoes were just okay and the asparagus was overcooked. My husband had shrimp and risotto, it was just a scoop of rice, not rissotto.

Me and my girlfriend went on a Saturday night it was our first time there and everything was excellent the music was great ! The food was very good we had a reservation and walked right in didn't have to wait. Our waitress was super nice and recommended very delicious food. We got the goat cheese personal pizza and a chicken pesto sandwhich both very good. Only bad thing was where we sat there was a poll blocking my view of the piano so that was kind of annoying other than that great place !

Coming here lived up to my expectations and then some. We made reservations and were promptly seated when we arrived. On top of the cost for dinner there was a $15 cover charge that would normally turn me off on going, however the ambiance and quality of the band was more than worth the cover. That night featured Frank Catalano. The music was incredible! This will be a regular stop for me each time I come to Chicago.

The club's ambiance is perfectly created for a Jazz place. Low lights and good acoustics. We had reserved a table for 9:30pm via opentable.org. We arrived on time and to our pleasant surprise, got the seats right in front of the stage. These were absolutely great seats and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner while listening to the beautiful live performance. The crowd was very encouraging to the musicians (rightfully so) and the service was up to the mark. The food menu was diverse. I had the Salmon dish and was rewarded with one of biggest chunks of well-roasted Salmon I've had in some time. The food actually came very close to a fine dining experience. Good place to take a date and/or enjoy some great live music.

If you are going to Andy's, because you heard or read it was one of the top Jazz Clubs for Dinner, think twice. The music was fine, although it was way to long between the first group and the second group. The food was disappointing. If you are going for music and drinks, it's fine. The decor could use an upgrade.

Andy's was a first and only time to a Chicago jazz club for two of us. Difficult to assess / compare to other venues similar. It did allow us the opportunity to dine and wine while being able to listen to a fine musical trio, Ben Paterson, at a convenient time of day, being open at 4pm and music at 5pm. The ambience was good , but not warm aesthetics , room a bit dark and dreary. Food was fine, overall, well prepared and served promptly.

I had read many of the reviews on Travel-Adviser and Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. Although it wasn't a total bust, it also wasn't as memorable as we'd hoped. The food was decent, but the service left a lot to desired. The jazz quartet we heard was entertaining but not one we'd go back to see.
