  • "You a pay a cover and also pay for dinner, but it is worth it. Tables very close to stage."

  • "Not many great jazz clubs also have good food. Andy's is an exception. Service was also delightful. I plan any visit to Chicago around making sure I have at least one night to spend at Andy's."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "It was recommended by the hotel staff and we were happy that we spent our last might in Chicago at this place. Everything was good apart from some people in the back talked really really loud."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "I came for the music but found more. The Jazz was superbly performed & musicians mingled with guests. Prices are reasonable, and I got more than my money's worth. It's what a jazz club should be and too often is not."
    Dined on 7/2/2014
  • "Great night out, good food, great service - Great group playing there that night the Xavier Breaker Coalition was amazing - its a good thing they were so good because our dinner for two was over $100 and they still made us pay the $15 per person cover charge to get in the door even though we had dinner reservation. Other than that it was great!"

  • "We were celebrating a birthday party and wanted to go to a club with live jazz and this was perfect. Food was good and the music even better. I had read some not-so-good reviews and was hesitant at first to make a reservation but am so glad I did. We really had a fantastic time and everyone couldn't have been nicer from the young guy at the front door to our server. They are strict about the two hour dinner rule!"

  • " Overall good experience. Dissappointed that they forgot to deliver the appatizers. Could have made up for the mistake by comping a desert but chose not to. Music was great and the main course of Beef Ribs were very good. Priced Right!"

  • "We had tickets for the symphony, no time to eat before the performance. A Late night jazz club seemed like a good idea, but I was concerned the food wouldn't be up to the job. No fear. Andys was great. They had our OpenTable reservation waiting when the cab dropped us off, there place was packed and a quartet playing. I ordered the Rosemary rack of lamb, and my partner the Cajun Rosemary Risotto. Food was delivered promptly, the lamb was surprisingly good, well presented; not too fatty, and cooked medium rare as ordered. The mash seemed fresh, no lumps. My partners risotto was more like a rice medley, but again well presented and good. The waiter paid attention and promptly refilled drinks."

  • "I'm aware of the long history of this establishment and it more than lived up to it! A great night for anyone wanting to enjoy great food, music and life!"

  • "We visited on Monday because the performer was the Chicago Jazz Orchestra. The show was amazing and we were pleasantly surprised with the food. Actually we were not expecting great food but it was the contrary. I ordered the salmon and my husband the short ribs and both were excellent. You can also go to have a drink in the bar."

  • "... entertainment - food was quite OK, but that is not why you should definitely go to Andys Jazz Club ==> it is all about the music. Sensational! And the service was impeccable! We had a great, great night there and we can recommend the place 100 %,"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "Food was just okay but theb service and vibe were really nice. I would go back but only order appetizers."
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "As always, Andy's does a good job of bringing in music talent that is enjoyable to listen to. On this visit I actually ate at Andy's and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of it. I had the Duck Jambalaya. And while it was not a traditional serving of jambalaya it was nevertheless very good. The Bread Pudding dessert was also very good. Only complaint is I wish the spirits were stronger, seemed rather weak. So I switched to beer. But overall Andy's is a nice place to relax, get a good meal and listen to some great sound."

  • "I had a chicken dish that was dry and tough, my wife had fish and chips over cooked. My sons hamburger was not cooked to order and my daughter's salad was small. The music performed was not what I would call authentic jazz. More like remakes of songs made to sound jazzy or a blues rock genre. Not impressed, and I had to pay $40 just to walk in the door at 6:45."

  • "Andy's has been one of the best live entertainment venues for so many years. The history for fine live jazz continues. Service is outstanding! Food is terrific, though the menu has changed and some old favorites no longer offered. Great vibe!"

  • "My date and I enjoyed Andy's Jazz Club. I have been there before, but this was her first time. She was very impressed with the atmosphere and the great food. She wants to definitely come back and bring some of her friends. This is the best jazz club in the Chicagoland area. "

  • "We had a fantastic time at Andy's. The music was phenomenal, the food was delicious, and the service exceptional. We will definitely be back soon and we would highly recommend it."

  • "When we arrived there was a $10/pp cover charge, didn't know because unless you hit"more"on OPEN TABLE description it doesn't appear. No Big deal, wanted a special pre-theater birthday dinner, we'll pay. Musicians playing so loudly, waitress couldn't hear order and kept saying, "What, What?". We ordered chicken quesadilla w/pepper jack cheese...must've run out and subbed mild white cheese..no flavor. Mustard crusted halibut came without mustard crust hence, no flavor. Warm bread pudding w/caramel sauce came warm with cold refrigerated butterscotch instead. Ore-Ida french fries are fine at home, not at a downtown restaurant..shameful. The music between sets was great, not too loud. Live music..ehh. All in all, I'll pass, you should too."

  • "This place was great for listening to jazz! The atmosphere was great, and they had some old timey cocktails on their menu which is cool. However, the cocktails were small for the price and the food was wayyy overcooked. "

  • "First visit; would go back; enjoyed the music very much and food was good; waitress was excellent."
    Dined on 5/22/2014
  • "We wouldn't recommend going to Andy's Jazz Club unless you know the musicians are really good. The food is mediocre (although not expensive) and the night we went, the quintet that was playing was unbelievably unengaging. Many of the diners left even before the first set was finished. I think if the band had been better, we would have enjoyed it more. We had such a fantastic evening at a blues club the night before and this was terrible in comparison."
    Dined on 5/18/2014
  • "A great place to experience part of the Chicago music scene, you are up close and personal with some jazz greats at this intimate music club on Hubbard. Have your dinner and conversation before hand and then head over to Andy's for drinks and amazing music."
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "This was our first time at Andy's. We were somewhat surprised with how great the food and service was, given that we came to see one of our friend's jazz quartet. Having both made for a marvelous evening! "

  • "Had been to your spot last year meeting with family members. Liked it well enough to return with 3 girlfriends. The wait-staff was gracious & inventive with arranging for our 8 platters of appetizers that required more table-space. Music was very good. However, talent on previous visit was best."
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "felt very rushed, wait staff did a great accomodating our group of 10 by seperating the checks. not ideal for a group of talkers as you may miss the band, which is really good. a must go to. go for the music the food is only ok. "

  • "Great Jazz but extremely poor waitress and service. Visited Andy's 6 months ago and I believe a waitress took a copy of my card information and charged personal items. My card service shutdown the card. Saturday a waitress spilled wine all over me and needless to say ruined my night out."
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "We had a reservation for my son's college graduation. There were 8 of us for an early dinner. The service was excellent and the server provided very good recommendations. The jazz music was an added plus that provide good background for food, drink, and talk. My only comment is that reservation has a fixed time slot. The expectation of Andy's is to have all guests leave after the jazz show is over. This should be clearly communicated and available on Open Table. "

  • "A fabulous small, intimate setting for great jazz. Food was good, and service was great...but you go here for the music. And it's worth every Dollar, which was relatively inexpensive, too. It is worth a whole lot more!!!"
    Dined on 5/16/2014
  • "nice evening of food and jazz. Check the time schedule since the bands take a break."
    Dined on 5/15/2014
  • "Andy's did not meet my expectations. I was thinking it would be classy, but I would describe it more as "a hole in the wall joint" and unfortunately, the band (first band, second performance) was "a hole in the wall" band. I think there must be better Jazz in Chicago than this place offered on that night. It wasn't horrible, it just did not meet my expectations. I would not go back."
    Dined on 5/15/2014
  • "We had a fantastic evening here, the food was good honest American fare and the jazz was excellent and in keeping with the feel of the joint. The waiting staff were very friendly but once we had finished ordering, got a bit cold with us and we felt that we had to leave."
    Dined on 5/11/2014
  • "The music is fabulous and tne food is good. Problems lie in the fact that a cover charge is paid at the door to get in regardless if you ave reservations for dinner. Then we ordered a dinner salad to start and share because it cost $11 and it was delicious but tiny. Even the best restaurants give you more and charge less. Entrees were good and priced reasonably. Desserts like the salads were outrageously priced even though tasty. They have a policy of 2 hours max per table and indeed after spending $200 on our evening we were asked to vacate the table at the 2 hour mark. Would go back to the bar for music but don't recommend spending money there for dinner. What a shame cause it's a delightful throwback to the era of dinner clubs. "

  • "Our experience was overshadowed by a demand for $10 just to get through the door despite having a booking for dinner. This isn't mentioned anywhere on the Open Table site when a booking is made. The music was pleasant and not too noisy. The food was OK but nothing to write home about and it was priced at the top end of reasonable. Im sure the business does very well as it was full. The servers were very friendly and pleasant indeed and got the order right first time. We felt however that the cover charge of $10 each ($40) should be part of our gratuity and so were only able to leave a smaller gratuity than we would have liked. I avoid these type of establishments that load extras onto customers when they arrive and so wont be returning."
