Diner Reviews
  • "I have dined at Andrews several times before, but this time the food was over-the-top great. The sea scallops and duck breast were prepared with such special touches, with sauces and vegetables and garnishes which all worked together to enhance the main courses. We started with appetizers which were very tasty and unique in their preparation. The servers were well trained, attentive, and knowledgable. They change the menu about every three months, and I cant wait to go back to see what the new menu has to offer."

  • "Myself and my boyfriend dined here recently for my birthday and we requested a quiet spot when we made our online reservation, which is a good idea if you want a sweet ajd romantic location! We ate in a room with four big booths, it was very private and the music was wonderful. The food and service were all outstanding, no matter what you get the chef takes his pride in the food. Show up hungry! Also if youre a tea fanatic like we are, they have delicious loose-leaf teas."

  • "Outstanding, clearly the best restaurant west of downtown Milaukee"

  • "The service was outstanding. My husband really enjoyed his dinner of scallops. His seafood soup du jour was also quite good. My ribeye dinner could have been served a bit warmer. Basically everything is Ala Carte, and a bit pricey, so I would not make this a frequent stop."

  • "who new that three of us could share 3 really good veggie options in Delafield? Th non veggie stuff looked good too on its way to other tables."

  • "Always the best place in Delafield. Servers and entrees were outstanding."

  • "Our table was available immediately, and we were seated in a quiet part of the restaurant (which I requested online). The restaurant has a traditional/colonial feel with historic maps on the walls, including reproductions of Windsor colonial chairs at the tables. The menu is in 4 parts or courses. 1st (appetizers) 2nd (salads) Entrees, and desserts. The courses are very large, including the salads. We were full by the time the entrees came. All the food was wonderful, and the staff was knowledgable regarding the sourcing. We were seated away from the bar, but if one was nearby, it would be quite loud. The only criticism would be the cost per glass for wine, which was $11-14 - good choices, but slightly high for the menu options available."

  • "The food was delectable --enjoyed it from the appetizer to the dessert we had to bring home because we were too full. The service was an attentive, but not intrusive team. Simply a lovely evening."

  • "The food was good to very good on the Brunch menu. We felt the server was just going through the motions - not a busy Sunday at the brunch while we were eating. We did not get the included "toast" as stated on the menu. Server was only seen to take our order, deliver our drinks and food, and then to take our check. She was nice but did not add any real value to our visit and did not offer a look at dessert, etc. It just was okay - nothing special. We probably would not return."

  • "We are a couple who went for a short weekend getaway to the Delafield Hotel. It was a romantic two days during one of this winter's frigid spells -- the hotel is luxurious, the rooms and amenities superb, and Andrew's only adds to the experience. It is a restaurant befitting the quality of the hotel itself. The food was excellent, the wait staff was attentive, and the atmosphere romantic, with booths in individual alcoves. We had dinner there and a Sunday brunch, and recommend both highly. Add in a nice wine list and good cocktails and you have a satisfying experience."

  • "My experience wasn't a satisfying one. Ordered a hamburger plus a salad. Took more than a half hour for the food to come and instead of bringing the salad first, it was brought out with the hamburger. No choice of dressing either. I asked for well done and it was burnt and dried out. Actually it was the worse meal I have ever had. The only reason I tried them was because we had gotten a gift certificate. Needless to say we will not be returning. Hopefully others have better luck."

  • "We had the brunch. The omlets were great . The corned beef hash was excellent. The frittata was rather bland and could have used some sides. The Bloody Mary was over priced and just o.k. The service was good but very very slow."

  • "The food is excellent ! The live music in the bar spilled over into the dining room and agitated an otherwise wonderful dinner."

  • "Food and service were good but special New Years eve menu was overpriced. Drinks were also more than most places. $11.00 for small glass of house wine is too much."

  • "I have had lunch at Andrew's quite often and within the last two years it was been much improved. However, brunch was an exception, The three entrees we ordered were fair and one of them was distasteful. We will not return for brunch."

  • "Such a great restaurant close by! We are frequent travelers all over the nation and this ranks near the top. We also lived abroad 5 years and were spoiled by having high quality neighborhood restaurants close by. Usually, that is difficult to find in the Wisconsin suburbs, but we feel we have hit upon a gem that we will continually go back to, especially since the menu is unique and changes often. We especially loved how we were not rushed out the door and we were not presented with the check while we were still eating. Well worth visiting!"

  • "Food was great. Service was not. Also had indicated we were dining for my husband's birthday and asked they do something special. Dessert? Anything. To no avail. Nothing done and that was disappointing."

  • "Four of us for ladies lunch, very attentive server. The vegetarian risotto was a work of art and delicious as was the Soba noodle salad with shrimp. Drinks/wine was very expensive so we did not order any."

  • "The food was great. I liked their surf and turf special because the turf was lamb not the usual steak. It seemed more noisy than usual, but I believe that was due to the approach of Christmas and a large table of people. The one strange thing I noted was the lack of a coat check. Since this is a hotel maybe I missed it, but you would think the hostess might ask if we wanted to check our coats. I did not seem to be the only person in the restaurant who had a long dress coat thrown over the back of his or her chair. It is Wisconsin and it is winter. Not a big deal, but it did strike me as strange for a four star restaurant."

  • "Andrew's was a bit pricey but worth the money. The food was excellent and the service could not have been better. I would go again"

  • "The restaurant was busy. We waited for delivery of every course. It was extremely slow. Food was OK but we told our server it took way too long to get. They offered a 10% discount on the bill. I do not think we will go back. We had been there 5 times before."

  • "Andrew's for lunch proved to be every bit as good as Andrew's for dinner. Our party of four loved the food, and the service was both friendly and prompt. We highly recommend Andrew's!"

  • "Honestly, 2 hours to have breakfast? Usually we put up with the slow service because the food is quite good, but this time the eggs were cold, an order was forgotten entirely and took over an hour for the food to arrive."

  • "My fiance brought me here for a night of romance and fine dining... It was both! I am a foodie from NYC, and Zac loves to eat - at Andrew's we were both in Heaven. One dish was better than the next - from the appys to the main courses to our dessert. Each dish was layered with flavor; the food was fresh and savory; the combinations were different and worked to please even the most finicky palate. This is one of my Top 10 restaurants of all time. And, - the bartender may kill me because it took two of them to make - have a cappucino martini for dessert. O. M. G. Ends the meal perfectly."

  • "My wife and I found ourselves unexpectedly out-of-town for our anniversary celebration. A little internet surfing and my attention was caught by Andrew's and the Delafield Hotel. The reviews sounded good and the geography fit in well with our travel. What a delightful find! Staff was friendly yet professional, the food was creatively and delightfully prepared My wife enjoyed the duck and I was delighted with the scallops. We enjoyed a wonderful evening celebration with last minute planning, very pleased with the entire experience."

  • "The Thanksgiving buffet offered a bevy of foodie Pleasing dishes -- with one exception, the Haney tasting turkey. When the Turkey is supposed tone the star of a meal, this is a shame! The array of unique salads and traditional sides With the chef's unique touch (think crunchy shallots on the green bean casserole instead of canned onion rings) Would have made up for the bad turkey any other day of the year!"

  • "Food was very good; but service slowed down and dinner ended up taking a long time. Staff tried to make it up to us, due to a mistake on our order. It's a little confusing when you get to the Delafield Hotel; you walk into the hotel, and then have to go through a bar to get to the restaurant. There was no hostess visible, and it was unclear where to check in for the restaurant."

  • "Andrew's came highly recommended, and it definitely lived up to and exceeded our expectations. The menu is interesting, the food outstanding and the service the best we have had anywhere. Starting with appetizers and ending with dessert, Chef Jonna and her staff have created a true fine dining experience in Delafield that can compete with any restaurant in the Milwaukee or Chicago area. We highly recommend a visit to Andrew's; you will not be disappointed!"

  • "I took my oldest grandson (14) on a get-away overnight to this wonderful hotel and restaurant. We had breakfast there and they served the best coffee I have ever had! Very smooth and flavorful! I had the cinnamon roll french toast which was topped with apples and it was delicious and a generous serving. My grandson had the home made corn beef hash which was chunks for tender corned beef and roasted potatoes and carmeliized onions. He said it was fantastic! Service was very good and our server was very attentive filling our coffee cups several times and very friendly. I would recommend it to anyone!"

  • "The food is greatly improved from the prior chefs who worked there. The new chef has created a top notch menu that is absolutely delightful. The food is creative and the dishes are cohesive with great flavors. Use of local ingredients is a winning strategy. This chef is definitely in the small group of the top chefs of this state. The service is also much improved. When this place first opened up years ago, the servers were at times incompetent and often rude. Friends of mine have never returned to the restaurant after their poor treatment by the servers years ago. The current servers, on the other hand, are professional, attentive, polite, and personable. The owners should build on this and never revert back to their bad old ways."

  • "My companion and I arrived at our reservation time and were greeted at the door by a young man in his splendid uniform from St. John's Military Academy - a nice touch. We were seated promptly in a large booth which seemed liked a small room just for we two. The wall art was interesting. Our server was excellent as were the various wait staff who passed by. Our meals were magnificent; my compliments to the chef. The combinations of unusual flavors that complemented the main course were very much appreciated. We began our meal with the delicious mushroom soup and didn't have to wait long for our main course. We were both very pleased with the soup, our main course, the crusty bread and the fabulous pear tart for dessert."

  • "We had a great dinner at Andrews - in one of their wonderful cozy dining booths. I had the Angus filet and my husband had a grilled lamb special. Both were perfect. So much so we ordered a yummy chocolate soufflé to finish off the night. We will definitely return."

  • "Loved everything we had. Ate here 2 nights in a row. Food was as good as a lot of Chicago restaurants. The ceviche was amazing! Scallops, Surf & Turf, sea bass, everything was wonderful. Even ate here for breakfast. Had smoked pork crepes. It was ridiculously good. Love the private booths. LOVE THIS PLACE!"

  • "Food and service were fantastic. Entrees could have had more vegetables (4 slices of cauliflower and 5 sliced Brussels sprouts on the respective entrees are not a "side"). Good for special occasions because it is pricey."
