The wild mushroom risotto with truffles was a special treat as an appetizer. We both enjoyed steam mussels in a delightful broth featuring thyme."

  • "As locals we always chose Andre's Bouchee and Wine Bistro as our special occasion restaurant, as well as the restaurant that we go anytime we want a meal that we know will be prepared and served perfectly. The Lobster Bisque with chunks of lobster meat in it is a divine way to begin either lunch or dinner. Over time, we have eaten different preparations of fresh fish, seafood, veal, duck and more without ever being disappointed. Stephan, the owner, is extremely accommodating and friendly, always making sure each patron's meal is prepared perfectly. Server's recall your preferences and check on you during your meal. The sommelier is very knowledgeable on wine whether by the glass or bottle. There is no reason to eat anywhere but Andrees!!!"

When you come here, you come to dine which means taking your time & enjoying the experience. Don't expect to get served like your local fast food joint. We ordered escargot, mussels for appetizers. Our main courses were: sweet breads, lamb shank, & scallops. We had the creme brûlée and ice cream with turnover. All dishes were excellent. I would definitely return when I'm in the area."

  • "We choose Andre's Bouchée after reviewing Open Table recommendations. We were not disappointed. The staff was warm and friendly, the atmosphere relaxed, the food delicious. Of the many reasons to visit Carmel, I would add one more, Tarte Tatin, on the dessert menu. Reminiscent of an upside-down apple pie served with home made ice cream and a separate sauce to go with each. If you dine somewhere else,come here for this dessert. Sure to be an award winner. One regret, to full for a second helping of Tarte Tatin."

But it worked perfectly, plus there was a couple who was celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. It must be the spot. The food didn't disappoint either, we splurged on a fancy Pinot that the waiter was very knowledgable about. Would definitely plan to go back for our 25th if not sooner, if we make it back to Carmel!"

  • "We made a reservation through open table. And we were there on time. Instead of seating us immediately, we still waited for another 20 mins. That experience was not pleasant...But since the space is not that big, I forgive them. What I want to say is, the food is great. My wife loves the snails in the appetizer, and the trio is also great. Risotto is indeed delicious... Fancy dinner at a reasonable price."

Our server was very cordial and knew a lot about each dish. Our table had several different entrees and each was outstanding. Food was excellent. It was a wonderful experience. We will certainly return. Suggest you have 10 people and request the wine room - that's the best way to enjoy this restaurant."

After questioning the waiter about fish choices on the menu, he went into the kitchen and came back to offer fresh dover sole. This was great and most appreciated. Jose (our server) was very attentive, knowledgeable about the wine list, and kept our wine glasses filled throughout the evening. All five diners were pleased. Very nice choice and will return when in Carmel."

Have to say the special sea bass was disappointing this past Saturday. First, fish served did not resemble any type of sea bass species I have been served before. Quite sure it wasn't sea bass. Though its not uncommon for restaurants to be shipped fish labeled Incorrectly. Also, the lone sommelier was on vacation in Fiji so there was no credible help with the wine list. Otherwise, group enjoyed the meal and all else was very good."

  • "Large party came in after us and was seated nearby. They were chattering in a foreign language REALLY LOUD most of the time. I found it distracting to what I'd hoped would be a quiet, intimate dinner at a small, French restaurant. If you go and want to have a nice quiet conversation with your own group, be seated toward front of restaurant and not near back where this large table was and it's also near the open style kitchen. Waitress was cheerful and professional, but over-worked serving most of the tables. Therefore we had lengthy waits in between courses. Food was outstanding. Would recommend with different seating suggestion."

  • "This restaurant never fails to please. I even brought a gluten free friend in, and I was pleasantly surprised how easily they made her evening. So many things were easy for them to prepare gluten free because everything is freshly made and so many of the sauces are thickened by the vegetables and house made demi glace rather than with flours. The staff is delightful and the food is always amazing. A touch of Paris in downtown Carmel."
