  • "We enjoyed a lovely lunch on Sunday morning in a quiet restaurant with very tasteful decor. The food was impeccably prepared and we had very attentive service from our server. The wild mushroom risotto with truffles was a special treat as an appetizer. We both enjoyed steam mussels in a delightful broth featuring thyme."

  • "As locals we always chose Andre's Bouchee and Wine Bistro as our special occasion restaurant, as well as the restaurant that we go anytime we want a meal that we know will be prepared and served perfectly. The Lobster Bisque with chunks of lobster meat in it is a divine way to begin either lunch or dinner. Over time, we have eaten different preparations of fresh fish, seafood, veal, duck and more without ever being disappointed. Stephan, the owner, is extremely accommodating and friendly, always making sure each patron's meal is prepared perfectly. Server's recall your preferences and check on you during your meal. The sommelier is very knowledgeable on wine whether by the glass or bottle. There is no reason to eat anywhere but Andrees!!!"

  • "This French restaurant was every bit as good as the restaurants we have been to in France."

  • "The bread was right out of the oven. What a great start to an incredible meal. The service was flawless. When you come here, you come to dine which means taking your time & enjoying the experience. Don't expect to get served like your local fast food joint. We ordered escargot, mussels for appetizers. Our main courses were: sweet breads, lamb shank, & scallops. We had the creme brûlée and ice cream with turnover. All dishes were excellent. I would definitely return when I'm in the area."

  • "our group thought the food was pretty good but the service was overbearing. kind of an unusual problem! the wine steward somehow felt he needed to "educate" me in the basics - which i didn't need. Maybe because we were a group of women? He was loud and in a huge hurry."

  • "Another sublime meal - Dover Sole for the two of us - superb attention from team members Jose and Lucia - the food and friendly welcome - great service - should not be missed!!"

  • "We were very pleasantly surprised by our experience which exceeded our expectations. After a warm greeting we ate a wonderful meal with flavorful food prepared perfectly. The sommelier's recommendation for a wine pairing was outstanding. We intend to go back to this gem next time we are in the Monterey area."

  • "Our second time back here. The food was just as great as we remember and service was great. They are friendly, competent and knowledgable."

  • "We choose Andre's Bouchée after reviewing Open Table recommendations. We were not disappointed. The staff was warm and friendly, the atmosphere relaxed, the food delicious. Of the many reasons to visit Carmel, I would add one more, Tarte Tatin, on the dessert menu. Reminiscent of an upside-down apple pie served with home made ice cream and a separate sauce to go with each. If you dine somewhere else, come here for this dessert. Sure to be an award winner. One regret, to full for a second helping of Tarte Tatin."

  • "We had our engagement dinner there, well at the time I booked it I didn't know we were going to be engaged. But it worked perfectly, plus there was a couple who was celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. It must be the spot. The food didn't disappoint either, we splurged on a fancy Pinot that the waiter was very knowledgable about. Would definitely plan to go back for our 25th if not sooner, if we make it back to Carmel!"

  • "The dinner and service were top notch. I can't think of a better restaurant in the Monterey/ Carmel/ Pebble Beach area. Friendly, attentive service , excellent food and a well-selected wine list."

  • "We made a reservation through open table. And we were there on time. Instead of seating us immediately, we still waited for another 20 mins. That experience was not pleasant...But since the space is not that big, I forgive them. What I want to say is, the food is great. My wife loves the snails in the appetizer, and the trio is also great. Risotto is indeed delicious... Fancy dinner at a reasonable price."

  • "Celebrated my 30th wedding anniversary with my wife at this wonderful restaurant. Food excellent, service excellent and a special praise for the host; gracious gentleman."

  • "We discovered this restaurant on a visit to Carmel last year and were looking forward to coming back this year. We were NOT disappointed. Absolutely outstanding - and if you can get it, ask to sit at the chef's table [actually counter seats looking directly into the kitchen] and see the magic at work in the kitchen."

  • "Love this place! We travel 2.5hrs from SF to visit Carmel area and this place is always on our dinner list. They always hit the food on the mark and the service is impeccable. Love it here!! LGBT friendly."

  • "My wife and I are Carmel locals and Andre's Bouchee is one of our favorites on the Peninsula. Great food, great service, great wine and wonderful ambience. We visited this past Saturday and had a wonderful experience, as usual."

  • "This is a small (49 seats) very popular restaurant. Fortunately we had a reservation so we were seated immediately. The food was great. The service was perfect, very attentive to our needs. We had a quiet table in the corner. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in town."

  • "I went with my wife and we had a great dinner over there. Everything was outstanding."

  • "We were located in the wine room just off the entrance and that was perfect for our group. Dimitri was truly an expert on wine and we enjoyed the knowledge he shared. Our server was very cordial and knew a lot about each dish. Our table had several different entrees and each was outstanding. Food was excellent. It was a wonderful experience. We will certainly return. Suggest you have 10 people and request the wine room - that's the best way to enjoy this restaurant."

  • "I dined at Andre's Bouchee as a party of five. I had the beet salad which was very good. After questioning the waiter about fish choices on the menu, he went into the kitchen and came back to offer fresh dover sole. This was great and most appreciated. Jose (our server) was very attentive, knowledgeable about the wine list, and kept our wine glasses filled throughout the evening. All five diners were pleased. Very nice choice and will return when in Carmel."

  • "We come here every year for the ATT Golf outing and every time our group has a great time. Dimitri the wine steward plays to the group and it works. Excellent starters and the specials we very good."

  • "I chose the restaurant for a customer dinner based on menu and reviews. It did not disappoint. Great service, although it was a little slow at time on a busy Friday night. Knowledgable sommelier and waiter. Mushroom soup was some of the best I've ever had! Fish and beef dishes were all delicious. Everyone in our group of 10 would go back!"

  • "My wife and our friend found their meals enjoyable, but I picked poorly from the menu. I had the Three Different Pates appetizer and the special entree of the night which was veal chops. Both were lackluster. The wines were delicious! So beware, the quality of the meals is inconsistent."

  • "Restaurant has always been a local favorite for over a decade now. Have easily ranked the food in top three for the Monterey Bay Area. Have to say the special sea bass was disappointing this past Saturday. First, fish served did not resemble any type of sea bass species I have been served before. Quite sure it wasn't sea bass. Though its not uncommon for restaurants to be shipped fish labeled Incorrectly. Also, the lone sommelier was on vacation in Fiji so there was no credible help with the wine list. Otherwise, group enjoyed the meal and all else was very good."
    Dined on 2/1/2014
  • "The only negative was the overpriced wine list. While the list is extensive, I suggest that you bring your own special bottle and pay the $25 corkage. Food was amazing and service was very friendly."

  • "Lamb shank tasty but not hot. Veal rack not picante as said it would nd..too much sweet sauce. Waiter very friendly but a little too hovering. Overall a nice place, but not that French. Might go back..might not."

  • "We were in the area and looking for a French restaurant. Found it on open table and we loved it! Friendly stuff and great food. Even the wine that the owner picked was amazing. Definitely be back when in the area again."

  • "Good overall restaurant,we'll balanced experience. They have a good wine list but a little bit overpriced"

  • "Large party came in after us and was seated nearby. They were chattering in a foreign language REALLY LOUD most of the time. I found it distracting to what I'd hoped would be a quiet, intimate dinner at a small, French restaurant. If you go and want to have a nice quiet conversation with your own group, be seated toward front of restaurant and not near back where this large table was and it's also near the open style kitchen. Waitress was cheerful and professional, but over-worked serving most of the tables. Therefore we had lengthy waits in between courses. Food was outstanding. Would recommend with different seating suggestion."

  • "This restaurant never fails to please. I even brought a gluten free friend in, and I was pleasantly surprised how easily they made her evening. So many things were easy for them to prepare gluten free because everything is freshly made and so many of the sauces are thickened by the vegetables and house made demi glace rather than with flours. The staff is delightful and the food is always amazing. A touch of Paris in downtown Carmel."

  • "Very good food! I ordered a shrimp provencal that wasn't at the menu and they made it specially for me. The owner, a football aficcionado is extremely friendly and enthusiastic with his retsurant and allways has a good recomendation for a good wine. Great experience."

  • "This is one of the best places to go for that special occasion. The food is always very tasty. The wines are excellent. The service is perfect. And they only seat 49 people so it is very intimate."
